Hi Wengie! I'm familiar with that ponytail trick, I used it a lot when I was growing out my hair. The lower ponytail was actually too low, if you put it right underneath the regular ponytail it already makes a difference! Also, my ponytails used to look fuller :)

Idk but one life hack I use I know wengie said to not sleep with braids in but if you use hair ties that aren’t tight rubber elastics and do them slightly loose it gives you nice waves while keeping your hair in place and preventing it from getting tangled.
Sorry this is an older comment but don't get discouraged💕I'm sure you'll find a way to get the hair you want. Keep working at it and soon enough you'll find yourself with the hair you want. Just a tip, try to use heat on your hair as little as possible.(flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers etc.) if you have a cool setting on your blow dryer that is much better for you hair. Hope I helped!
You know what so sad but kinda good I guess? Even if I spend literally an HOUR on my curls, they won't straighten. I even went to the salon to straighten them out, but it only lasted for 20 minutes and my straightened hair was too long for comfort. It's like my hair's rebellious or something. I really wanted to use some of these hair styles!! :(

Sorry this is an older comment but don't get discouraged💕I'm sure you'll find a way to get the hair you want. Keep working at it and soon enough you'll find yourself with the hair you want. Just a tip, try to use heat on your hair as little as possible.(flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers etc.) if you have a cool setting on your blow dryer that is much better for you hair. Hope I helped!
If you use an hair oil after your shower when it's still wet it helps it calm down also try braiding it

You know what so sad but kinda good I guess? Even if I spend literally an HOUR on my curls, they won't straighten. I even went to the salon to straighten them out, but it only lasted for 20 minutes and my straightened hair was too long for comfort. It's like my hair's rebellious or something. I really wanted to use some of these hair styles!! :(
