Oof this video aged like milk. You shouldn’t have based his viability solely on his demo since you ended up labeling him bad with almost no information. -CA spam Sethos (4TF) has the highest reaction rate in the entire game which makes him the best Fischl driver -Hybrid Sethos is still a good Fischl driver since you are able to use both 4 CA and his burst in one rotation, which is 12 aggravates and has really high personal damage -Slingshot passive is extremely generous and consistent, and is very close to Hunter’s Path in terms of dps -His F2P 4 star team (Seth-Fish-Kira-Sucr) is the second best 4 star team in the entire game, beating even national It’s problematic that you decided to release a video like this before even playing the character.
There are some points I would like to disagree with, Firstly there being a lot of electro dps shouldn’t be a point to invalidate Sethos, it’s like saying gaming is useless and not necessary to use because of the pyro dps roaster, the pyro roaster has the most dps out of any roaster and each 5 stars except for Klee can outdamage gaming in his teams, talk about hutao, arlechinno, lyney, yoimiya and even Xiangling all outdamage gaming at similar levels of investments but does that invalidate gaming no, gaming is still a very solid dps even with the amount of pyro dps in the roaster. And about the f2p nature, you do forget Sethos has a 3 star bow that is is his best in slot weapon, slingshot and since his burst counts as charged attacks his burst benefits from the slingshot passive, making him more f2p than gaming and other 4 star dps, His scalings are quite decent the issue is that people are trying to fit his two completely different playstyles in one rotation, why not play the burst playstyle and charged attack playstyle in seperate ways in different teams not in the same rotation. What I discovered is that his charged attack playstyle is more quick swappy,, he can fit in a tighanri team ,since his window is like 3 charged shots at c0 and 4 at c6, and his charged attack at lvl 10, is roughly around 200%atk + 229% em, and this gets buffed by one of his passives which increases this charged attack by 700% of em for 4 charged shots which is nothing to scoff at, this scaling is quite decent, and with constellations, his normals are increased to level 13, which increases his normal attack damage As for his burst playstyle, he is an aggravate dps and at level 10, the em increase on his normal attack is roughly around 359% em and around 400ish em at level 13, this scalings are not bad Individually his playstyles are not bad, and deal decent damage individually and in my own opinion, he isn’t bad, he is just a 4 star, and he is up there with the other good 4 star dpses We would just have to wait for his release to see cus his scaling are actually decent
- slingshot is very inconsistent - his BIS is hunter's path - he is literally ON CLORINDE'S BANNER so having the same role as her is troublesome those are my takes

People keep trying to fit characters into " meta teams" but that isnt how genshin works. - characters and teams are designed to be CONSTRUCTED with one another, even if a character playstyle isnt " good" it still has a place. - right now i already have a team idea in mind for him, " mona, sethos, beidou, sucrose/barbra" - i like the idea of 4☆ dps , ( ninnguang, yanfei perform really well) as you can still have a critical role while saving for the 5☆ you really want or need.
The weapon take was quite bad. He's (primarily) not an atk scaler, and his best in slot is slingshot, a 3* bow, very budget option, wouldn't you agree?
@@Juice-chanit's not it's actually pretty consistent Range in genshin is weird.. because while your DPS is ranged your supports aren't so you'll have to be somewhat close to the enemy.. heck even sethos himself despite being ranged will still want to be close to the enemy for his elemental skill So you're basically always in range for slingshot anyway

Inazuma, Sumeru, and Fontaine 4* just kinda suck. I feel like 4* will forever be doomed since they can’t make profit. Maybe outside of Chevy for overload.

Dori and Faruzan feel eh until c6, Layla and Kirara are ok-ish, Kaveh is imo arguably the worst dendro unit in the game, Yaoyao, Collei and DMC are pretty strong but every dendro in comparison would feel worse than the big three of dendro. as for the fontaine era four stars well...., Lynette is average, Freminet is idk what the heck the devs were cooking, Gaming is solid, Charlotte is good, and Chevreusse is amazing.
I said basically the same thing on the Clorinde video, but it feels doubled down here - they had every opportunity to build an Electro DPS that does LITERALLY ANYTHING other than Aggravate. And instead we got two more Aggravate specialists ON THE SAME BANNER. It just feels so lazy.

Sethos having 2 play styles is perfectly fine. His scalings are also great. You can play either/or. His ult converts his normals into charged attacks correct? And his other play style is not ulting, instead using his energy to charge attack. So just build him on Wanderer’s Troupe for the EM & charged attack dmg bonus, and slap on Slingshot, Scion of the Blazing Sun, or the new event weapon, and you are good to go. He is not weak. Compared to the 5 stars, yes. But as a 4 star, he is just fine. That’s like saying Gaming is weak because Hu Tao is better. She is a 5 star. No wonder she is better. I do agree though that the aggravate DPS role has long been covered. I’m not sure what compelled them to do this.
One of Setho's best weapons is Slingshot which is like as budget as it gets, it works better going full ca build, but can also work with his burst since it changes his shots to ca's aswell, but with slingshot you're ALWAYS getting its bonus since t2 charged shots insta hit. Overally i really don't think sethos is NEARLY as bad is this video makes him out to be, Fischl can be a great battery for him to get more energy for faster charged shots, his c2 is great and he scales with em making him great for hyperbloom.

Um, if you just burst it’s fine, cuz it only use 60 energy. You can burst and start the rotation but also do charge attack with higher cons cuz it returns energy spend. He’s actually really f2p friendly cuz “surprisingly”he don’t need that much attack and surprisingly a 3 start weapon gets you extra 60% damage at r5, his energy generation is also not too bad. And last you any character can be strong if you spend time building them, there’s Xinyans out there who can do more damage that neuvi

ok ngl Sethos feels confusing to me, like he feels like budget 4 star cyno and but it would have made more sense if the burst scales off of EM, i hope it does cause if the passive doesn't buff the burst also then f**k. even in the 4 star department Quickbloom and Quicken is also rough, Quickbloom has dori(if c6) for on field electros, Aggravate then there's Lisa(i heard she can be competitive with Keqing) and Beidou. 4 star onfield dpses or drivers concerns me sometimes, we had bangers like Gaming and Noelle(with furina), but then we have some duds like Freminet and Kaveh. wait is it just me but these days male 4 star characters post-Thoma have been on fielders? like am i not the only one seeing this?

I think hoyo knows what they are doing, they knew with deyha they knew with arlecchino and neuvillette...there are so many people involved in making this game that they know, they weren't indecise on how to make it, I am sure they have decided to release a X number of 4 stars and 5 stars each amount of time, and the true reason why they make some of them OP and some suck hard is known only to them, i can only guess that since the end is to make us pull the more we can they make shitty ones to avoid other xingqiu,xiangling and Bennet and they place them in a studied way to still make us pull even if there is a shitty 4 star...what they know very well at the end of the day is that people are gullible morons, and whatever they do some for mommy vibe some for having a pixel girl some because they feel good when they steamroll the game people will pull nonetheless...remember in an interview they told we dont sell characters we sell love
Not sure where I read it but as far as I remember his elemental skill generates more energies than the usual rate from the previous characters to relieve his energy consumption

The chance of a player not having Keqing, Cyno, Yae and Raden AND not getting Clorinde while getting Sethos is pretty low, so in most cases Sethos is a character for the players who simp for him and isn't very good in terms of meta. Before Furina got released, I thought almost the same about Cyno because the difference between him and Keqing is pretty small, and Yae is just better in Aggravate. At least, now Cyno has the Furina Quickbloom archetype where he's arguably the best, but he's still not great because he needs multiple 5 star teammates, has only a few good teams (and a bunch of mid ones) and has a very long burst thar causes various problems. But Sethos... is even worse... Apart from his dual playstile problem, his main problem is low damage, and this cannot be solved even by Furina and Nahida... I mean, it's certainly good enough to clear Abyss, but it's never (or almost never) better than Cyno's damage or Yae's damage. And that's the key factor that makes him a "play him if you like him" character.
Having two new Electro dps in one patch and on the same banner is funny. I already have C2R1 Raiden, C3 Keqing, Yae, Fischl, Beidou, Kuki, Sara and Lisa built and never want to pull or invest in another Electro character for the rest of the games lifespan lol. I'm only pulling for Alhaitham and then im hard saving for C2 Pyro Archon.

Honestly if they kept his numbers but gave his Arrows Aoe all his basic issues would be solved. He’d be a solid character if nothing else. The more enemies he hits in one shot with his piercing shots, the larger the aoe. Or just Burst and spam his Autos and use the mini aoe’s. That way he can trigger Blooms and apply his element more widely. Fischl is passive overall, Kuki is a passive Hyperbloomer, Sethos could be a more active driver. I know Hyper is overplayed and all but still…improvements are improvements. Any other ideas? It’s just fun to share.
He follows the trend of new 4 star characters. His kit is messed up at c0-5... but once he gets to c6 his kit becomes whole and both playstyles actually work together and you will be required to do both.
that's his opinion & mine is that he's an aggravate character. he's not even good in hyperbloom, dude has high multipliers, he's clearly not intended for hpb & you're wasting his scalings then
I've done a little bit of farming for him, because I'm expecting to get him at least once in my quest for Madam Button-Popper. The main problem I have with him is that his playstyle looks like it could work well with coordinated attacks providing good reaction damage, but there aren't many coordinated attacks that aren't either electro already, or from other bow characters.
and my sister who just started playing yesterday got Amos bow on standard from the ar 10 wish and wanted to use it on him. guess dps amber is her only option for a while.
I hate raiden refuse to pull for her and I’m like Gorou when it comes to Yae, creeps me out so I’ll never pull for her either 😂 I do have Cyno because I pulled for a 4 star and got him on the first pull 🫣 maybe I’ll get around to hunt scarabs and actually build him one day 😅
fischl is something but tbf what i think would make sethos dead on arrival it's because we already have a 4 star that can be as good maybe better than him in the same teams sethos will probably be used in minus quickbloom(as she needs c4 to be consistently.). you get her for free, her only con is that she can probably feel clunkier than sethos.
Not even this they are releasing him with Clorinde and more salt to wound there is a big chance fischl will be featured on the banner since her last one was last year
I agree with almost everything you said (barring the weapons part - Slingshot is a great, easily accessible option. I'm not sure why you call it inconsistent) It's unfortunate you can't (rightfully) call a character bad without having people rushing to said character's defense. And this is coming from someone who's going to play him (I've always wanted a bow CA spam character).

ok ngl Sethos feels confusing to me, like he feels like budget 4 star cyno and but it would have made more sense if the burst scales off of EM, i hope it does cause if the passive doesn't buff the burst also then f**k. even in the 4 star department Quickbloom and Quicken is also rough, Quickbloom has dori(if c6) for on field electros, Aggravate then there's Lisa(i heard she can be competitive with Keqing) and Beidou.
4 star onfield dpses or drivers concerns me sometimes, we had bangers like Gaming and Noelle(with furina), but then we have some duds like Freminet and Kaveh. wait is it just me but these days male 4 star characters post-Thoma have been on fielders? like am i not the only one seeing this?

I think hoyo knows what they are doing, they knew with deyha they knew with arlecchino and neuvillette...there are so many people involved in making this game that they know, they weren't indecise on how to make it, I am sure they have decided to release a X number of 4 stars and 5 stars each amount of time, and the true reason why they make some of them OP and some suck hard is known only to them, i can only guess that since the end is to make us pull the more we can they make shitty ones to avoid other xingqiu,xiangling and Bennet and they place them in a studied way to still make us pull even if there is a shitty 4 star...what they know very well at the end of the day is that people are gullible morons, and whatever they do some for mommy vibe some for having a pixel girl some because they feel good when they steamroll the game people will pull nonetheless...remember in an interview they told we dont sell characters we sell love

Not sure where I read it but as far as I remember his elemental skill generates more energies than the usual rate from the previous characters to relieve his energy consumption

The chance of a player not having Keqing, Cyno, Yae and Raden AND not getting Clorinde while getting Sethos is pretty low, so in most cases Sethos is a character for the players who simp for him and isn't very good in terms of meta. Before Furina got released, I thought almost the same about Cyno because the difference between him and Keqing is pretty small, and Yae is just better in Aggravate. At least, now Cyno has the Furina Quickbloom archetype where he's arguably the best, but he's still not great because he needs multiple 5 star teammates, has only a few good teams (and a bunch of mid ones) and has a very long burst thar causes various problems. But Sethos... is even worse... Apart from his dual playstile problem, his main problem is low damage, and this cannot be solved even by Furina and Nahida... I mean, it's certainly good enough to clear Abyss, but it's never (or almost never) better than Cyno's damage or Yae's damage. And that's the key factor that makes him a "play him if you like him" character.
Having two new Electro dps in one patch and on the same banner is funny. I already have C2R1 Raiden, C3 Keqing, Yae, Fischl, Beidou, Kuki, Sara and Lisa built and never want to pull or invest in another Electro character for the rest of the games lifespan lol. I'm only pulling for Alhaitham and then im hard saving for C2 Pyro Archon.

Honestly if they kept his numbers but gave his Arrows Aoe all his basic issues would be solved. He’d be a solid character if nothing else.
The more enemies he hits in one shot with his piercing shots, the larger the aoe. Or just Burst and spam his Autos and use the mini aoe’s. That way he can trigger Blooms and apply his element more widely.
Fischl is passive overall, Kuki is a passive Hyperbloomer, Sethos could be a more active driver.
I know Hyper is overplayed and all but still…improvements are improvements. Any other ideas? It’s just fun to share.

He follows the trend of new 4 star characters. His kit is messed up at c0-5... but once he gets to c6 his kit becomes whole and both playstyles actually work together and you will be required to do both.

that's his opinion & mine is that he's an aggravate character. he's not even good in hyperbloom, dude has high multipliers, he's clearly not intended for hpb & you're wasting his scalings then

I've done a little bit of farming for him, because I'm expecting to get him at least once in my quest for Madam Button-Popper.
The main problem I have with him is that his playstyle looks like it could work well with coordinated attacks providing good reaction damage, but there aren't many coordinated attacks that aren't either electro already, or from other bow characters.
Sethos is def quick swap dps im using him with tighnari and its so much fun
and my sister who just started playing yesterday got Amos bow on standard from the ar 10 wish and wanted to use it on him. guess dps amber is her only option for a while.

fischl is something but tbf what i think would make sethos dead on arrival it's because we already have a 4 star that can be as good maybe better than him in the same teams sethos will probably be used in minus quickbloom(as she needs c4 to be consistently.). you get her for free, her only con is that she can probably feel clunkier than sethos.

It's unfortunate you can't (rightfully) call a character bad without having people rushing to said character's defense. And this is coming from someone who's going to play him (I've always wanted a bow CA spam character).
