There's a new parkrun in Devon. Sharpham estate in Totnes. Out and back with views of the river Dart..Its only been going 2 weeks but the male couse record is a fast 16:14.
Hi James, looking forward to giving Sharpham a good blast this weekend! Thanks for the course info... not sure I'll hit 16:14 but I hear the downhill finish helps! Is it a trail shoe course do you think?
@@TheVeganRunner Most of the course is tarmac so I would wear road racing shoes. The total elevation gain is around 370ft after checking a few peoples strava workout analysis.
i do love this video as all of the parkruns in Devon are stunning. must have been so hard to choose. i do need to head over and run at least one parkrun :)
I love this - I did my first run in Seaton and live there. Please next time consider which runs that are accessible via public transport or easier cycling options - for eco reasons
Excellent once again Lee, as you say it can depend on the weather you have on the day, but I'd say Woolacombe, Bolberry and Tamar Lakes as my top 3, after those as you found, very close to separate, and all unique :)
Bolberry narrowly missed out and lost a couple of points by being a two lapper, also the cafe only had coffees for us - it’s still very much up there though, absolute stunner of a location!
Good concept Lee. We've done seven Devon oarkruns in our various holidays down there. I must admit I thought Killerton would have made the cut. It seemed to have a bit of everything and sits within National Trust parkland. We we like is your criterion of post-parkrun interest. That is also important to us and usually involves something of historical interest, even if that is a good selection of villages with open churches in which to browse. Today finds us at Mallards Pike as we make Vlog #10 in our own series documenting our parkrun journeys.
Thanks John! Exactly, if you’re going to make the journey it’s always good to explore the area afterwards and even better if the parkrun location can help with that. Killerton was one of the courses vying for fifth place - it came down to which one I’d run with a gun to my head between that one and 3 others! Great parkrun though and the house/gardens are great to explore ☺️
Thanks Graydon! I couldn’t decide until I invented my scoring system 😅 There all so good and many that didn’t get a mention hold special memories - like Parke - our local and first parkrun, Exmouth, my fastest parkrun to date, and so on! 😃
Great video! Liked and subscribed. I love Exmouth and Teignmouth but would like to try some more. May I ask, out of Parke, Killerton and Haldon, which is slightly easier/has fewer hills? Would I need trail shoes for all of them? Thank you.
I would probably say Killerton on a nice day and if there hasn't been too much rain, if there has, then Haldon would be your next bet. Thanks for the comment and hope you're parkrunning is still going well!
Loved this video of the top 5 Devon Parkruns, we were really chuffed to be with you at Bolberry and Seaton, I’m in agreement with the choices until you picked Tamar Trails 🤔 much preferred Killerton 😜 We highly rated Tamar Lakes and the café food was the best 👍 we have Woolacombe to run hopefully this month The Dune of Doom 🙈
Killerton was up there! I think because we ran its B (or C!) course in horrendous weather might have had an effect 😅 Glad to hear your venturing to the Dune of Doom! Good luck 😂😂
@@TheVeganRunner we were doing Woolacombe but it’s too windy to camp, so we are doing Eden Project, Mount Edgcumbe is a great choice and views should be fantastic, are you 🎥
Thanks Ben - it was a really lovely video to make and rewatch - especially the montage at the start. Really makes you appreciate where you live and all the hard work that goes in to putting these events on every week. Gives us a shout when you’re down this way - and if you’re brave we can tackle Woolacombe 😅
Totally agree Wollacombe my No 1 of all time. Hard but a fabulous experience should be on every Park runners 'to do' list.

@@JAMESBAKER-jm5dv Nice one - I might dust off the Alphaflys then! Cheers 👍

Make it Woolacombe for the challenge and memories! Just don’t do hill reps the day before 😅

Thanks Emma! ☺️ You’re very lucky to live in Seaton and have such a great course on your doorstep. That’s a great idea btw 👍
Great video footage Mate.
Thank you 😊

@@TheVeganRunner wasn’t the cafe under covid restrictions because we were disappointed too
@@coops111s Quite possibly - they had food going but nothing for the plant-based folk!

Nice video, well done. I can’t argue with that list. Maybe I’d have the 5 in a slightly different order, but I fully agree with your number 1 :)

Am at the Dune of Doom on July 2nd, not checked tide times as I like the jeopardy :)
If weather is okay we are trying this weekend 🙈
Weather is looking alright Steve - we might cross paths, we're heading down your way - Mount Edgcumbe :)

A great selection Lee. Will have to try some of these out when I'm down Devon way. A really good variety of courses there 👍
