My first impression of this movie was actually a positive one. TTG isn’t very frequent on the action aspect very often. So seeing them step out of their comedic comfort zone once more was very satisfying. Overall, I enjoyed this movie.

Honestly the only reason I don't like Teen Titans Go is because the humor can be kind of.. not the greatest? Or like humiliating to a person to go through. (I'm probably a Robin apologist to be honest. He's always been one of my favorites so..) I remember like the April Fools episode? The titans played a joke on Robin by placing a bunch of like tape in his room (spread from the walls to the middle so if he ran in he'd get tangled and stuck), and then telling him I think that his parents were in there and waiting for him (His parents are dead by the way)? And he ran in, got stuck, they laughed, and he cried.
I have a very dark sense of humor, so I found that hilarious; sorry. I have it a season, it was just too silly for me. There was nothing serious that happened that kept me in long term. I didn’t like that Robin was kind of the punching bag every time I watched him. What I did like was Raven and Gar getting together though. But that annoyed me when Starfire and Robin didn’t
I think the biggest issue many had with this show is that the original Teen Titans got shafted on their ending with the justification being budget problems only for the cheaper Go! show to debut after.
My only gripe is that the OGs feel like parodies of themselves, like when Young Justice’s Aqualad showed up in the show. Other than that and the OG’s cheaper animation style, I thought this was pretty good.

The "Slade episode" stands out in particular, where it basically just ends on a "gotcha, dummy" joke for baiting you into thinking they'd have action or even just Ron Pearlman doing Slade again. It also didn't help that the spiritual successor to the OG Teen Titans - Young Justice - was also routinely screwed over by the studio over and over, despite it being a success and popular, while TTG continued uncontested. TTG had nothing to do with it, but between the OG and now YJ, more of that sect of fans had reason to point at Go! and say wtf.

Teen titans go is nothing like this. The Worlogog song is just an example of what they do. Cause 90% of the show itself is childish, boring, random nonsence. Its not that people hate it because its different from the original Teen Titans from the early 2000s. But the fact that the show doesn’t actually try to be a likable show that’s entertaining to watch or keep audiences engaged. Example. There’s an episode where Beast Boy and Cyborg only say the word Waffles, and it gets annoying very fast. Robin is the worst character in that show cause we can’t catch a break at him yelling, ranting, arguing. And he is by far the most egotistical character in cartoons. The guy won’t take no/loss for an answer
To be fair robin is supposed to be like that and a lot of the time, he almost never wins. Yes there can be some episodes that aren’t for me, but there are some that are really good and funny.
You should definitely watch the show, there is some continuity like recurring characters (Santa) and they often bring up past events, kinda like Gumball. The first movie takes place in season 5 after episode 4, the very next episode acknowledges the events of the movie.

Actually, people liked the movie even fans of the original Teen Titan series. This movie was incredibly well written and gave fans of both series something they'd love. The hate for the original series is pretty simple. They took a well written story full of great humor, darker moment, deep messages and action galore only to replace it with a show that prioritizes zany kiddie humor. This wouldn't be a real problem if we had gotten a real ending to the original series and not some half ass tv movie that just felt like an extended episode.. I actually am an old fan of teen titans go, me and my dad used to watch the show a long time, and we both watched teen titans go to the movies on the big screen, true these titan variants may be childish, lazy, chaoic and not very smart but their is some good things about them, like they are looney tunes level funny, they have these fun shows called tv knight and justice league next top talent idol star and best of all they have a good taste in music and they make the best songs like the night begins to shine.
I don't hate Teen Titans Go! but one of the main reasons people hate it, besides being so different from the original, is that Cartoon Network would just air just multiple hour long blocks of TTG. If you look at old CN schedules Teen Titans Go! was like 50% of all blocks of scheduling every week.
I think the reason why most people hate on TTG is because of how extremely different it is to the comics and original cartoon. I've seen a little bit of it and while I'm a a little more neutral on it, I can say that it seems like its all comedy and hijinks and nothing of substance, nothing you can really sink your teeth into story wise. Which, is fine in its own right but its such a huge departure from every other Teen Titans media that is very serious and character and story driven. Even if its intended for a younger audience, TTG seems dumbed down in comparison. But a lot of people do like it so it has its own merits. And we all have that show or movie we watch when we need to shut off our brains and just laugh for a little bit.
'Teen Titans Go! To The Movies' artstyle looks so much better than this "sequel". I wish that the effort put in that film was thought about to use for this one.
An argument I hear from other people for why TTG is hated is because it didn’t need to be teen titans. With how the characters act they are so far removed from how they should they might as well make a brand new series. But they cancelled the original teen titans and replaced it with this. And almost seems to take joy in the fact that TTG replace the original TT. I don’t know if this is true it’s just what I hear but considering at one point they made this big advertisement with the original TT characters making a comment about how they made it back they were definitely hyping the return of the original TT show but instead it just led to this. So it’s less about TTG being bad but more the obsession with replacing TT. I think if TT ended in a way that tied up all loose ends and then did TTG the hate would be nowhere near as much.
This is really it. The old fanbase could have let it go but it seemed like the people behind TTG wanted to constantly poke the hornet's nest. They first said it wasn't for the original TT crowd but they kept including references and things that only the old TT crowd would have known. So TTG would do something that made the fanbase feel like they were being mocked, it would cause discourse, things would settle and then repeat. Basically, TTG was never allowed to be it's own thing. It instead seemed to latch onto the OG TT like a parasite and never let you forget that. Hell, there was apparently even a controversy where they took an episode that was meant for a make-a-wish kid and turned it into a commentary about how people don't like their show. Ya know, instead of having a fun episode for the kid to remember?
I meannnnn the reason why ttg makes fun of fans of the original one is because said fans started to complain about ttg waaaaay before the series started to mock them, like they started to complain since the beginning of season 1, some still gave the show a chance for a little while but then started to complain too, all those episodes mocking them (that actually are just like 6-7 episodes out of 200+ ttg has) are just a "clap back" to the comments 🤷🏻♀️ Also idk why fans of the 2003 series think that ttg is at fault about not having a 6th season, i promise y'all that with or without ttg we still would not have gotten that 6th season :/

The quality of writing in the movies is better than the show overall. The frustrating part of the show, which I gave a lot of chances is that it CAN be entertaining. There ARE good episodes. Some even great episodes. But there's so much schlock you have to sit through in ratio to get to them. Schlock as in: The kind of humor that seems to be for 6 year olds.

I mean, the titans in go are menaces, and at times act like villains, so this makes total sence for the direction that go went for.
Teen titans go is nothing like this. The Worlogog song is just an example of what they do. Cause 90% of the show itself is childish, boring, random nonsence. Its not that people hate it because its different from the original Teen Titans from the early 2000s. But the fact that the show doesn’t actually try to be a likable show that’s entertaining to watch or keep audiences engaged. Example. There’s an episode where Beast Boy and Cyborg only say the word Waffles, and it gets annoying very fast.
Robin is the worst character in that show cause we can’t catch a break at him yelling, ranting, arguing. And he is by far the most egotistical character in cartoons. The guy won’t take no/loss for an answer
To be fair robin is supposed to be like that and a lot of the time, he almost never wins. Yes there can be some episodes that aren’t for me, but there are some that are really good and funny.
You should definitely watch the show, there is some continuity like recurring characters (Santa) and they often bring up past events, kinda like Gumball. The first movie takes place in season 5 after episode 4, the very next episode acknowledges the events of the movie.
The movies did a little more justice for the shows, but ngl while the Teen Titans Go series does have it’s good moments I’ll admit, it’s more or less silly and sometimes weird “adventures”. It’s just doesn’t appeal to die hard most og Titan fans as much.
Yeah GO memed hard on people that disliked GO but.. my main issue was that they did it so early on in GO's run iirc, like I legit remember the first episode i caught was involving Control Freak making fun of the original... which means they already knew the backlash was gonna happen *and still made GO* like.. didn't adjust at all.. nope just went ahead and made fun of fans of the original.. like if GO was just parody/satire or even made jokes on stuff the fandom *already* joked about with the OG show or stuff even the fans agree was silly It would have gone over better.. legit it wouldn't be as bad without all the bashing on fans for liking the OG series

Actually, people liked the movie even fans of the original Teen Titan series. This movie was incredibly well written and gave fans of both series something they'd love.
The hate for the original series is pretty simple. They took a well written story full of great humor, darker moment, deep messages and action galore only to replace it with a show that prioritizes zany kiddie humor. This wouldn't be a real problem if we had gotten a real ending to the original series and not some half ass tv movie that just felt like an extended episode..
Listen there is nothing wrong with liking TTGO cuz it can be good at times but knowing that it replaced TT is painful..
Most of the time, the Teen Titans Go show is just Brainrot Humor. And how the entire Internet just stopped caring about it, the shows creators are still salty about getting negative feedback which is sad.

Truth is, many shows try to grow “up” with their audiences. TT reinvented itself for a new generation entirely so fans who had pined for the original were bitterly disappointed when it grew “down”.
But if you can detach from that desire, it’s perfect fun. Even very funny sometimes!
There is this anarchist wizard named Alan Moore who writes comics. You may not know his name cause he asks his name to be removed from all adaptations and his money to be given to the artist. He wrote v for vendetta, watchmen, league of extraordinary gentlemen… his stories are the best. He has two dcu cartoons I’ld love to see you do. One is the Joker origin story “The Killing Joke” and the other is a green lantern anthology called “ emerald knights”…

I actually am an old fan of teen titans go, me and my dad used to watch the show a long time, and we both watched teen titans go to the movies on the big screen, true these titan variants may be childish, lazy, chaoic and not very smart but their is some good things about them, like they are looney tunes level funny, they have these fun shows called tv knight and justice league next top talent idol star and best of all they have a good taste in music and they make the best songs like the night begins to shine.

I don't hate Teen Titans Go! but one of the main reasons people hate it, besides being so different from the original, is that Cartoon Network would just air just multiple hour long blocks of TTG. If you look at old CN schedules Teen Titans Go! was like 50% of all blocks of scheduling every week.
I think the reason why most people hate on TTG is because of how extremely different it is to the comics and original cartoon. I've seen a little bit of it and while I'm a a little more neutral on it, I can say that it seems like its all comedy and hijinks and nothing of substance, nothing you can really sink your teeth into story wise. Which, is fine in its own right but its such a huge departure from every other Teen Titans media that is very serious and character and story driven. Even if its intended for a younger audience, TTG seems dumbed down in comparison. But a lot of people do like it so it has its own merits. And we all have that show or movie we watch when we need to shut off our brains and just laugh for a little bit.
I like it because I grew up with it so the humor amuse me😌

I think you guys should watch the teen titans go series since you guys watched both of the movies.
An argument I hear from other people for why TTG is hated is because it didn’t need to be teen titans. With how the characters act they are so far removed from how they should they might as well make a brand new series. But they cancelled the original teen titans and replaced it with this. And almost seems to take joy in the fact that TTG replace the original TT. I don’t know if this is true it’s just what I hear but considering at one point they made this big advertisement with the original TT characters making a comment about how they made it back they were definitely hyping the return of the original TT show but instead it just led to this. So it’s less about TTG being bad but more the obsession with replacing TT. I think if TT ended in a way that tied up all loose ends and then did TTG the hate would be nowhere near as much.
This is really it. The old fanbase could have let it go but it seemed like the people behind TTG wanted to constantly poke the hornet's nest. They first said it wasn't for the original TT crowd but they kept including references and things that only the old TT crowd would have known. So TTG would do something that made the fanbase feel like they were being mocked, it would cause discourse, things would settle and then repeat.
Basically, TTG was never allowed to be it's own thing. It instead seemed to latch onto the OG TT like a parasite and never let you forget that. Hell, there was apparently even a controversy where they took an episode that was meant for a make-a-wish kid and turned it into a commentary about how people don't like their show. Ya know, instead of having a fun episode for the kid to remember?
I meannnnn the reason why ttg makes fun of fans of the original one is because said fans started to complain about ttg waaaaay before the series started to mock them, like they started to complain since the beginning of season 1, some still gave the show a chance for a little while but then started to complain too, all those episodes mocking them (that actually are just like 6-7 episodes out of 200+ ttg has) are just a "clap back" to the comments 🤷🏻♀️ Also idk why fans of the 2003 series think that ttg is at fault about not having a 6th season, i promise y'all that with or without ttg we still would not have gotten that 6th season :/
@@onepill7092 Fans do what fans do. They were disappointed that a really good show, that was probably a major part of their childhood as ending and looked for a scapegoat. Now, that WASN'T right but it was also pretty stupid of the people behind TTG to keep feeding them and making them double down or worse, bring in new haters or validating some of the hate.
TBH, if that Make-A-Wish episode is true, then that's one of the most petty things I've heard in recent years.
@@onepill7092 Yeah shows get cancelled all the time so cancelling season 6 for no reason is easily believable. It's just that TTG happened so soon after cancelling Teen Titans it is much easier to believe that the writers intentionally cancelled TT for TTG instead.

The quality of writing in the movies is better than the show overall. The frustrating part of the show, which I gave a lot of chances is that it CAN be entertaining. There ARE good episodes. Some even great episodes. But there's so much schlock you have to sit through in ratio to get to them. Schlock as in: The kind of humor that seems to be for 6 year olds.

@SortaStupid now that you asked it, i'll recommend you the teen titans go the Night begins to shine specials, those are actually the best episodes in the series worth watching, also are so good that since 2021 it was announced a spin-off series of that world, also there aren't so many news about, but they also confirmed a new series last year that it's called beast boy lone wolf, so yeah good to keep it in mind

Guys, trust me, the movies so far are probably the best of the teen titans go series. The regular episodes can have some decent and rather fun episodes. But also very awful episodes that later on become more and more constant as it goes on(trust me I've seen like 6 seasons of this as i enjoy silly fun nonsense myself)

The go characters in most episodes are season one regular show rigby. And a legitimate reason to hate the show is the sheer amount of screen time it got. Like you’d get an hour of none GO shows followed by hours of Go on a daily basis
