I don't think of this as just a song for Zero's death, I think of it as the theme of X and Zero's partnership. Every time you hear it, except for the X5 title screen (a bit of a foreshadowing itself, given how the game ends), it also plays when X and Zero reunite in X6...

I still feel that someone should mod some Mega Man X music into the Mega Man Legends games some day. It'd give them a whole new feel. Plus all Mega Man universes are connected, except for Battle Network and one other. The Original Blue Bomber made by Dr. Light, Mega Man X also made by Dr. Light, and then after the ZX series, thousands of years later we end the story (as far as it has been told) with Mega Man Legends series at the chronological end of the timeline.
So mixing Mega Man X music with MML would make sense in my opinion, I'd like a mod like that for the game if anyone ever finds out how to do it, and then actually does it!
