yeah I have to agree there, Imaginary wasn't HORRIBLE, but it wasn't the BEST horror movie I've seen either.
Yeah totally agree that this movie is vastly better than Imaginary in terms of concept. Like Food Fight to Sausage Party. Don't know why, but I'm tempted to think the retirement home in this movie could've also been like the non-horror equivalent to the backrooms if you get what I'm talking about
I am super obsessed with the animation and designs of each IF, so I’m definitely gonna check this movie out! 😁

Well. Only because of the hybrid technique. IF was a lovely idea and told very poorly. So many problems as the result of a main character not wanting anything really.

This movie had me balling 😢 I lost my mom when I was 18 and have 2 kids. I thought it was great.
I was crying a lot too watching this, it definitely tugged at my heart

Not exactly IF related, but it's cgi vfx design and style of the characters is definitely one of the films I'd take reference and examples of when making the monsters of the bendy film (other films include the 2022 Lyle Lyle crocodile film, the king Kong films from 2005-onwards, the upcoming harlod and the purple crayon film, the ghost hunters on icey trails film and the newer Ghostbusters films from 2016).
Truly the fastest I ever clicked on a 3C films video! Love this guy and I can't wait to see this movie!

My favorite movie as a kid was Inspector Gadget. It opened up my imagination whenever I saw Gadget activating his many gadgetry.

Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends is goated. I’m trying to do a reanimated project around it
I did go and see IF today at my local cinema, and despite being less than what was marketed in trailers - the movie still managed to put a few smiles across my face. John Krasinski did an alright job of showing off a family oriented project from his regular horror movie routes. Personally, I think they really should’ve made a little clip of Blue and his grown up kid eating croissants together since we got all the other IFs interacting with their much older kids towards the end of the movie.
Now we need a cartoon of it

If was such a great movie. Me and my child really enjoyed it.
I think good horror directors can switch lanes really well especially because they know how to manage budget well. Sam Raimi, James Wan. More recent examples like Jon Watts and Adam Wingard.

I really do think that this is the kind of movie that will only work if someone has been through some tragedy in their lives or is feeling quite down and want to watch something happy but still bittersweet. The more I think about, this movie is like Tim Burton's Big Fish in which both movies are about the loss of parents and the parents themselves being playful and energetic as they bonded with their children when they were still young. It's only when the parents are no longer in their lives do the main characters begin to understand what they really meant to them and mourn their loss. In the end of day, the moral of the story really is that our parents, families, and close friends are the true people we have in our lives, and while they can be the inspiration to our creativity and why we keep moving on in our lives, we must also learn to cherish the time we have with them and really appreciate the love of our families and those who take care of us and bring us up. It's just like how the girls parents in the movie are. Encouraging her imagination and creativity. She has both of them to thank for.
I REALLY hope that we see some article soon about how a Theater messed up, and played the movie 'Imaginary' instead of this...

Well since it’s a John Krasinski movie that’s understandable since he can’t act or make a gud movie but this one actually looks like a masterpiece and he actually puts effort into his acting like he did in Free Guy so u should definitely consider going to see it

Me and My dad really liked IF. It made me cry 8 times and it made my dad cry and he never cries 😭
Krasinski being the father is smart a recognizable face that doesnt require extra pay. If they hired anyone else theyd either have to add a another 1-2 million to the budget depending on who.
I’ve been screaming boxers on for imaginary friends since I’ve seen the trailer for the first time imagine having blue a real character that would’ve been amazing
I gotta say Chris I’m with you about the first 50% of the movie just being OK. And I was planning on also giving it a mediocre review but for me it actually did bring me to tears a couple of times near the end so that gave it redeeming points for me so that in the end I gave it a higher review than I was anticipating.

Watched it today. Will say this, it's a very family friendly movie, but the ending had me in so much tears!!!!!!!!! Also Kudos to John Krasinski for creating this movie and saying to the world that ''Yes people it's ok to have an imaginary friend as a kid''. And quite honestly I had an IF as a child. Overall an amazing movie but I do agree that if you're reluctant to watch it it's best to watch at home
This was clearly Krasinski's passion project. He's not a horror fan, he just happens to be good at directing horror. I think this is more of what he wanted to direct. He wrote it too. He probably wrote it during quarantine and only realised Foster's Home existed when the legal people told him lmao
