It was more like a dream than reality I must have thought it was a dream while she was here with me When she was near I didn't think she would leave When she was gone it was too much to believe So with tomorrow I will borrow Another moment of joy and sorrow And another dream and another with tomorrow So if there some day won't be time just to look behind There won't be reasons, no descriptions for my place and mind There was so much I was told that was not real
So many things that I could not taste but I could feel So with tomorrow I will borrow Another moment of joy and sorrow And another dream and another with tomorrow

Biographical song. If you know the story you know everyone was at fault. But she was afraid and he didn't understand. He didn't mean to take it out on her and she couldn't overlook. So much in Gene's story that didn't have to happen but the darkness was inherited. She couldn't have understood. Out of her hurt, her misunderstanding, she made some poor choices. He made a LOT of poor choices after this; and he died much too young. Gene was a genius who in my opinion surpassed Bob Dylan, both lyrically and musically. Too bad he had to fight everyone who could have helped him.
I can't believe this song isn't covered more often by artists. It has everything you would ever need.
Such a marvelous song !
The one and only Gene Clark. Terrific and haunting.
The first part of the beginning is literally Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". Phenomenal song.
No doubt this is were Floyd got it from
Another beautiful Gene Clark treasure.
from: white light (1971)

Ahhhh Gene...
It was more like a dream than reality
I must have thought it was a dream while she was here with me
When she was near I didn't think she would leave
When she was gone it was too much to believe
So with tomorrow I will borrow
Another moment of joy and sorrow
And another dream and another with tomorrow
So if there some day won't be time just to look behind
There won't be reasons, no descriptions for my place and mind
There was so much I was told that was not real
So many things that I could not taste but I could feel
So with tomorrow I will borrow
Another moment of joy and sorrow
And another dream and another with tomorrow
Perfect

wonderful song
I added 12 string to this and it was beautiful.
Check out the cover by This Mortal Coil.
VintageSpaceTime I know this song from the This Mortal Coil project but I much prefer the original version.
Both versions are incredible. This version was a real special find since i had no idea this was a cover. Wow.
co-written by the guitarist and the album's producer Jesse Ed Davis

Love Gene, but This Mortal Coil really claimed this song with their version on "Blood"
Hell no.
To be fair, the lyrics aren't special. But the delivery is hypnotic. Brilliant.
Sens dubte un millors cantautors de sempre, records Gene.
blasphemy
