- George Galloway reveals Richard Madeley asked about his religion before going live on Good Morning Britain.
The Workers' Party founder and MP says that the ITV presenter had asked if he was a practising Muslim before he appeared on the show.
Good Morning Britain has been hit with Ofcom complaints following this tense interview between Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley and George Galloway.
MCB's Centre for Media Monitoring commented: "Really poor line of questioning here. George Galloway being asked before the interview whether he was a practising Muslim, as if that is something problematic.
"From the same presenter who asked Layla Moran MP if there was “any word on the street” before October 7 attack."

She could only say, "Nothing's wrong with it," to which he would answer, "Then why ask the question?" That would have put her on the spot.

The same as asking if he is a practicing Muslim because it is written somewhere on some portals, and then insisting that he explain why it is written on those portals if it is not already true! He should have responded first with "And so what if I have converted?" before setting the record straight about his religious affiliation. Anti islam rhetoric should be pointed and called out against. Undermining his legitimate win in the polls by affliating him to the religion of Islam is a clear show of using Islamophobia to discredit him which isn't the first time it has been used as means of 'slander'. Islam isn't some sort of scape goat that should be used to instill hatred towards anyone especially when there's no justified objective reasoning to do so.

I am a Muslim, and if i was put in that situation and said to have converted to Roman Catholicism, my first thought would not be, 'so what?', it would be to clarify that it is false.

And as you saw in the video, the host never brought it up until he did. I used personal rhetoric to convey that as a muslim, i would take a similar approach to his reply. I know he is Roman Catholic, i was putting myself in his boots, in response to the original comment i was replying to.

In 2005 over 8000 Israeli settlers and the army left Palestine, the dismantlement and eviction from all four states ended in September 2005. Hamas took over in 2007, and since then there has been armed militia and violence .
