I mean ofcourse it's all "punk" (whatever definition that might have), but there is a distinct difference soundwise between Sham 69, DRI or New found glory for example. Metalwise i would surely say that there's a world of difference between Rhapsody of Fire, Slayer or Six feet under (don't have a lot of metal knowlege though but I know that these are really different to eachother). Just my 2 cents ;-)
