I think people that call this one of the worst shows of all time haven't seen much television, it's nowhere near as awful as the likes of say The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer or My Mother the Car.
I honestly have a soft spot for this show for how deranged it is.
I can say plenty of good things about it, for me it's combination of live-action and animation was done pretty well and most of the voice-acting was solid enough, the most bizarre thing about the show to me was why Craig and Robin were suddenly recast as a completely different nationality, made no sense to me and i felt like their new actors weren't as good and they stuck out like a sore thumb considering everyone else from Re-Animated reprised their roles. There were some legit funny moments and as someone who does enjoy the tween-coms on Disney Channel and Nick this show is right up my alley.
Team Toon had a similar concept and aired on CN UK but was only ever seen in the U.S. on Netflix and after it got removed from there it was considered lost media until I actually managed to find all the episodes(someone in the UK was kind enough to grab them for me).

On paper, Out of Jimmy’s Head had a decent premise, but its execution left a lot to be desired. One way I think the show could have worked would be if Jimmy was able to see the cartoon characters thanks to him being a descendant of a famous cartoonist instead of him literally having the brain of one.

Sometimes I think this show and movie would of work if they took a page note from "Who frame Roger Rabbit?", where the cartoon characters co-exist with real people. Jimmy is still a middle school kid who get bullied and belittle by his peers, but dreams of become a famous director/actor while working with his favorite cartoon actors. Appleday Pictures is having a power struggle between Sonny and Golly Gopher each of them wants to run the studio differently and Jimmy gets involved with it after a situation happen.

By abandoning Craig, Jimmy is pretty much doing the right thing.

Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s most American and British sitcoms had an actual studio audience (which is not the same thing as a laugh track) unless the effects of the show were seen as too complicated. For example the show Get A Life with Chris Elliot had a laugh track, while the British sitcom that inspired it, The Young Ones, had an audience. For The Young Ones the production team had 2 days in the recording studio (less complicated audience sitcoms tend to only have one) where they would get all the difficult work done on the first day and have the studio audience recording on the second day, with the audience watching the pre-recorded parts on a monitor. Though sometimes they would add extra laughter if they thought the audience reaction was unsatisfactory for some reason. We don’t have many audience sitcoms left in the UK anymore either, and we’re poorer for it in my opinion.

Honestly, now that I think about it, Out Of Jimmy's Head was trying to be a show similar to Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. Goofy sound effects, having lots of energy, having this live-action/caroony nature, which is ironic as that show didn't have any animation involved (except when the Fairly Oddparents appeared in one episode), and yet that show was super beloved. I think it's because it was one of the few live-action shows to have two 11 minute segments, and that way it can cram as much as possible without being too much. OOJH, however...yeah, it tries to be a 22-minute show like those other sitcoms, and it might have been way too much. Also, good God, using a laugh track doesn't even make sense because it was one of those sitcoms that didn't have a live audience to begin with.

This movie is to thank for why we started getting live action in Cartoon Network, and there are some reasons for not liking it (like, how does an alien sister fit in with the theme of the world, or how a brain transplant wouldn't kill Jimmy), but if there's one thing you do, it makes me see these bad movies in a whole new light. Even if I still don't like it, I view it differently.

For example they had a show called CQ. Which was similar to neds declassified in terms of it was a middle school show.

nah no hate from me I too have a weird enjoyment from this show from how insane it's universe is, it says a lot that Jimmy being able to seen cartoon characters isn't even remotely strange compared to how bizarre the show's universe already is to the point where it barely stands out. Like I loved the manic energy this show had, the episode where everyone competes in the school for some crazy laser tag battle royale elimination match(or something like that)was my personal favorite for how crazy it got with all the multiple levels to the school and everything.

Out Of Jimmy’s Head was CN’s 2nd live action show since 1996’s Big Bag which was in partnership with Cartoon Network, and The Children’s television workshop, which was also Live action with animated cartoon segments, and was a preschool show. I mean I didn’t mind Cartoon Network doing something completely new, but the problem was they already did it before, despite the live action show had premiered, it really didn’t sat well with audiences. Stu Snyder who was at CN at the time wanted CN to compete with Nickelodeon and Disney.

In Romania the only US live action shows we got was this and Level Up. We didn't get any of the crappy CN Real shows or what came after them, but instead we got completely different live actions such as My Spy Family (sitcom, it wasn't bad tbh), The Latest Buzz (first season only, canadian sitcom, also alright), M.I High (first season only, spy series I barely remember anything about it aside from it airing late at nights before new episodes of Chowder and Total Drama Action), and Sarah Jane Adventures (first 2 seasons only, really damn good but it felt so out of place on the network it's insane, some of the aliens looked like they came straight out of horror films)
We also got some Ben 10 live action quiz shows and some Scavenger Hunt show in 2017 nobody watched.

When I look back on this show, I feel like it missed the point of why these kinds of shows worked. In something like, say, early Fairly OddParents, the weird thing is supposed to make a kid's boring life more interesting; if the boring life is already weird, the weird thing becomes redundant. Knowing it was a deliberate decision kinda makes it worse to me? Now it feels like subverting a template for the sake of subverting it.

This show is the embodiment of Bile Fascination as listed on TV Tropes to me- like objectively it's hot garbage, but I look at the base idea and everything that went wrong and I can't help but be FASCINATED by it and imagine a world where things went slightly better and it was good.
One idea I saw forever back was that Cartoon Network should've used characters from their existing lineup instead of creating the Appleday cast, and ngl i think that could be a pretty cool show! Admittedly licensing would be hell, but what kid HASN'T imagined they're best friends with their favorite cartoon characters, whether it's having them as an imaginary friend or just daydreaming about being their pal?

At the time, I was REALLY jealous of these tween sitcoms getting more attention than cartoons. (It also didn't help that they were so bad that they made 'Saved By The Bell' look like 'Citizen Kane') However when you're Cartoon Network, A channel that prides itself airing animation, and you want to compete with networks that aim for A mainstream audience, there in lies the problem. Cartoon Network could've (and should've) stuck to their guns, but sadly, they gave in, and I will admit that at least ''Re-Animated'/'Out Of Jimmy's Head' tried to have animation in it, but the premise, and the execution fells flat on it's face. Mr. Enter, and Rowdy C already covered this.

While I HATE out of Jimmy's Head I actually liked Destroy Build, Destroy, Brain Surge, Hole In A Wall, and Level Up.
Destroy Build Destroy MAINLY because of Andrew W.K.
Brain Surge because it was kinda new and had an interesting idea. Too bad it didn't last long.
Hole In A Wall. (Although it kinda wasn't one of there's original show and wasn't a rip off version either!)
And Level Up mainly because I kinda have nostalgic memories of them advertising it ALOT everywhere on Roblox back when I was mainly active.
I think one other show worst than Out Of Jimmy's Head is The Incredible Crew. It's like SNL and the show All That mixed with Smosh. (But the bad kind!) It was so loud, random and annoying. But they did have Jeremy Shada. The VA of Finn from Adventure Time as one of the cast. He was the best. Also the ONLY good thing/ best meme to come out of Incredible Crew was Solar System Wolf!

Something to note about CNreal, it’s programming was made up entirely of reality or game shows, genres that do not have the same staff as traditional narrative television, which is quite advantageous when there’s an ongoing writer’s strike. Just something to chew on.
