Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has been asked to tell the people the favour he returned to his “Middle East” donor for the RM 2.6 billion he received as the controversy surrounding the money mounts.
Opposition MP Tony Pua said it is unlikely a foreigner would fork out RM2.6 billion to help a political party contest in the local elections, without receiving anything in return.
Pua also quipped about Najib's infamous quote during the 2010 Sibu by-election campaign, "you help me, I help you", which he said proves that nothing is free for helping someone in an election.
"A huge sum of money from a Middle Eastern donor? Why would a Middle Eastern donor want to give RM 2.6 billion to a Malaysian political party to win the election? You, my friend, I give you RM 2.6 billion ringgit.
"To quote Najib, ‘you help me, I help you’. So the Middle Eastern donor helped Najib with RM2.6 billion.
“It doesn’t matter? Even if it ends up in Najib’s private accounts? So, the question now is, how did Najib help this Middle Eastern person?" Pua told a crowd of some 1,000 people at the 'Where do we go from here' forum in at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall last night.

Bow Lampar...it is known fact that poorer country received donation from richer countries, but not for personal use but rather for the country and people. I am sure there are other business dealing tied, from receiving those benefit. In this case I think , Najib's wealth is by pocketing all the monies. The Country revenues become his own personal revenues.
I known that , all these international donations going into "Developing country economy assistance fund "set up by foreign service department , not any political party or individual politician, government official personal bank account. it is a totally different type of 'Donation' ./ @@jessmindarus7816
Eventhough the donation money was made in Najib's name, it is always the possible to deposit it in the Malaysian account not personal account.
It was a waiting game, to gain time. Sit it out by analyzing what detractors, Sarawak Report, WSJ, MACC, etc. actually know about the case first. If it were found that none of the detractors got any concrete evidence , then there is no need to reply. If some not -so -very important incriminating evidence is found out, the explanation would come in drips and drops. The fear was of a whistle-blower providing the real evidence. But, so far, none seems to be forthcoming and the "donation" explanation is good enough for the time being. There maybe a way to "convert" the donation into something more" robust" by the use of backdating documents especially if there is a subsidiary company that trade as a secondary bank or finance company, if the need arises.
Despite the scandal, rural malays may continue to vote Najib because of Race and Umno. They do not have another Umno that make them feel secure them by race.

A leader as the noun suggests, is someone who is the first at the frontline of something. Tony Pua is a leader. A leader need not being stern. That's a dictator, not a leader. Tony articulated his points very well and with a sense of humour so that it's not too boring. Oxford dude with class.
