I've always like Victoria Derbyshire, and her calm, unflappable, interview style. Listening to her describe the domestic abuse she suffered growing up made me realise where some of her resilience comes from. A thought-provoking episode, as always. Well done, Gi.
I can’t help but think watching this how these traumas affect someone’s life in childhood and adulthood- and then think of all the things happening to children in Gaza and women having c sections without anesthesia and not being able to stop the genocide happening 😢😢😢
I wondered that too but we can’t know the circumstances of that relationship, perhaps they aren’t in contact anymore. Regardless, I respect that it’s not Victoria’s story to tell

Up until 2011, I was in a very abusive marriage (lots of violence etc) and the police did absolutely nothing!!
