Thanks for showing it full, Matt. Well done all the way around,
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job on the pool project. Hopefully you have more jobs coming soon.
We shall. The castle is pretty big on
This was an enjoyable project from start to finish. I would like to see more pool builds if you do them!
We shall see
Been a great set of videos on this pool bro and looking ready for splash down. Safe travels. Ken.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for another great video. Cheers
Thanks for watching!
Nice,getting there,little bit longer.good video.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
That pool looks so nice, see on the next one
Thank you
The owners have an amazing place! I keep my hopes up that I'll win the lottery so I can find me a nice spot along the river in that area for my dream home with lots of acreage (40+)! I know exactly who to talk to for all the projects if I ever make it there!
Looks great, interesting to watch the set up and start up. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Thank you! It went pretty well
Thanks for sharing this with us great video thanks Matt
Glad you enjoyed it
Really nice cement pond!👍
Thanks 👍
Looks very nice.
It is! Thank you
Thought you would jump in
I did the day before to put the skimmer gasket on. Already 85 degrees with 80 degree weather 😳
Alright!! U Rock brother!! Cheers! ;-)!
Thanks! You too!
I have a salt pool. The SWG splits the chlorine out of the salt (sodium chloride). After the chlorine does it's job it recombines with the sodium and just turns back into salt. The water in a salt pool has a much softer feel than regular pools and generally speaking you can run the pool at a lower chlorine level. Also the salt content is much lower than the ocean.
Absolutely correct!! Thank you for that comment
Good morning
Morning
Enjoyed it
Awesome
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Right on!
👍👍🏊👍👍
😎😎
👍
😎
I would be tempted to disolve the salt in buckets of water a few days in advance.
That is what the pump and filter is for. Circulation which dissolves the salt.
Hot dog almost time to go swimming.
Matt nice to see it finished, concrete pools here in Australia are very costly fibre glass shell pools are the go here, limited to shape as they are made from a mould do you have fibre glass pools or are they not suitable for your weather conditions ie ground freeze ,can you tell us what that pool cost im guessing 60k plus😊😊😊
Cheers kym
Adelaide
In our area linered pools and fiberglass pool are our only option as we get too cold for a true concrete or gunite pool.
they should ask captain for some of that limestone he has that'd make a nice face for the icf are they gona put the pumps an such under a shed?
Really don't want the pumps under a shed they produce a lot of heat and need to vent to keep cool. Some will add a wall to keep you from seeing them but most just leave them out in the open.
👍
@@johnunsicker7440 its more the pipes an valves they degrade a lot in the sun which was why i was asking ive got to replace a few of those red handled valves on our property due to sun damage
They are unsure. But at this point they plan to leave it out in the open.
@@johnunsicker7440 our's at work in enclosed pool house, been that way since 1968. the pump room has vents cut in the exterior walls to allow cross breezes to help ventilate it
This morning dp released his video bringing you dirt
Nice!
@nyamillennial I said something like right on time NYA posted his final video like 2 moths ago I'm not saying you're slow just NYA and Captian are faster 😆 😅
Nice job. That seems like an awful lot of salt ... But I guess it's also an awful lot of water ...
lol yes. We calculated the amount needed
Good morning everyone
Mornin
Nice pool - looks great. Takes a few steps before the water is ready for a swim. Question - will the lower pool wall be built up with more soil to ensure its strength?
Slightly but strength isn’t needed. We put the proper rebar schedule in to have no soil against it.
@@nyamillennial Thanks for the explanation - thought it must have enough rebar but had to ask.
thanks matt for showing the pool good job by the way look good
You bet
Was the sand filter still in Rinse when you turned the pump on or did you switch it to Recirculate? I have the same valve and it discharges out the backwash pipe in Waste, Backwash, and Rinse.
Left it in rinse for a few minutes to reduce sand dust in pool at start up. Put in recirculate after a few minutes.
looks great, are you installing a thermal blanket to keep the heat in when not in use?
They are yes. But let me tell you. 56 degrees water was put in and it was 80 degrees while water was going in. The ICF walls are obviously doing a good job retaining heat!
When did you realize you had filter on rinse, there is no current in pool from filter with clean water?
It was intentional. New sand has a lot of dust. If you put straight into recirculate it will put sand dust in the pool with brand new sand. Wanted to reduce the amount with rinse function first.
You use chlorine pucks? ,,Liquid chlorine,,? In addition with the salt? How much salt is needed in the season 🤔
I put 7 bags in and that is supposed to be for the entire season.
Atleast I didn't get as salty a start as you did.
No doubt 😂😂
Just curious. What is the advantage of having salt water as opposed to non-salt water in a swimming pool? Or is it just a personal preference. I know excess chlorine can burn the eyes a little, but it seems that salt water would be worse. Pardon my ignorance. LOL
Salt is way easier to maintain less work for sure. Water is softer also.
Since that is salt water, is that concentration high enough that when you do dump it out in the middle of the yard that it will kill the grass?
Good question. I would assume it would slow growth but not kill
@@nyamillennial Might be worth checking and making sure the homeowner is informed...so they cant blame you for killing their yard or causing environmental issues where ever the water runs into after the yard (ie for a big water change for some reason) :) ie some small streams would not be happy with lots of salt water suddenly coming in.
Why salt water?
Your using salt to make Chlorine with the chlorine generator. Some say it is cheaper to use. You really don't have to keep up on the chlorine levels like you do in chlorine pools.
Less concerns with levels like a chlorine pool. So basically less worry then a straight chlorine pool
@@johnunsicker7440 yep that's why our complex converted the pool over to salt water. idiot pool company sent someone that had NO business messing with chlorine one year to adjust the levels when pool was straight chlorine. kid didnt know what he was doing, dumped wrong chemical in the pool. they found him unconscious in the pump room from him pretty much making mustard gas. the pool clouded up, the ph level was way out of wack.
@@nyamillennial does that controller talk? the one at our complex's pool literally scrolls across the display when to add salt if need be and it'll talk. think pool company turned off the vocal reminder/announcer mode this year
Did I miss something? Who in the world has salt water in their pool?
Lots of people actually. Chlorine is old school. There is still chlorine in this pool but the white unit inline in the pipe separates chlorine from salt then put them back together after the chlorine does its job.
Wow, a video of someone pouring salt.
That’s what it takes to open a salt pool!
Was this a kit and if so what does something like that cost just material
Not a kit. All custom.
Cool deal....very nice job
Does the pool have to be drained for the winter?
depends on where you live. We dont drain the pool at our complex completely. We'll drop the water level 6 - 8 inches below the skimmers before the cover goes on. if the pool company feels like it, they'll add pool rated antifreeze to the system before we shut the water off to the pool, pumps
Only if temps get below 16 degrees for multiple days. Completely drained no. Only below skimmer and jets to ensure they don’t freeze and bust.
Are you using a butter knife or what?
Basically. Cut way too many things I should cut. Needs sharpening 😂
Why a salt water pool? That’s not refreshing at all.
you really cant tell the difference in a salt water pool. it is not like the ocean. the salt makes its own chlorine so you arent adding chlorine. your skin doesnt dry out get all itchy irrated, doesnt make your eyes burn nearly as badly
Interestingly enough others say they are more refreshing. They wanted salt as that is what they have always had.
Hello matt good job on getting pool open
Thank you
👍
😎
Wow it looks great in the great bush setting
We think so also!
Never heard of a saltwater pool before!
Softer water less chemical.
😎😎
