Lycaon's somersault kick is pretty much Guile's Flash Kick from Street Fighter. Actually quite a few fighting game references in ZZZ, mostly hidden in the animations.
the camera panning behind the enemy is a bit frustrating in some of these vidros. by sheer chance it always blocks parts of the animations I'm trying to see. LOVE these vids, but I'd prefer more focus on the animations themselves than dynamic camera work.
He mentions they are completely mechanical, but that's about as far as the answers get us, unfortunately. He has not (yet) mentioned why they are. But likely an incident he doesn't want to talk about until the time is right.
yeah.... kinda expected this it looks cool when sped up, but with scrutiny, the legs animation isn't perfect specifically, the leg angling and priming before the actual kicks, especially diagonal/horizontal kicks. kicking at improper angle is dangerous for the joint. i know it's mechanical legs, but still...it's designed with the "edge" up front, mimicking actual leg, and Lycaon is fervent in maintaining them. Most of them still good tho. ty for making this 4:28 also wth is that lol.
i mean, if it WAS perfect, it would probably compensate for the coolness, no? otherwise the animators wouldnt try it, besides out of laziness lol also, the motion looks a bit awkward since because it's so slow, a computer has to put in the frames in between the quick action.
@@onetenths8017 i...have no idea what you are trying to say....sorry. For the frames between fast action. that's not a thing. even if you go low 30FPS, that's still 30 different frame. Those "awkward" frame is already there to begin with. Also, we are in youtube, so those frames are not translated directly(iirc).
@@J_just_J_yesahh ok, i was missing the point lol i thought you were talking abt the leg movement looking weirdish but i think youre talking abt how realistic it is(?) most of the leg movements dont make much sense bc animators did it cuz "is cool man" but i think u knew that already :v i was talking about interpolation, where they have like 30 frames/"poses", then the game puts in more frames if the players fps doesnt match, w/ the slow-mo adding in alotta frames inbetween i might be wrong tho, and it isnt pose to pose but rather animators telling the computer how to move stuff
@@J_just_J_yesWell, but the actual animation would probably consist of very few actual keyposes all happenning within just a couple of frames, so if you slow it down, instead of creating smooth transitions in-between the poses, they'd instead snap very quickly in-between them but also hold each one for a long period, not to mention that the animation is supposed to already look snappy at the normal speed, so slowing down will portray this aspect way more, not to mention that the game freezes slightly every time a "hit" happens (hit as in the attack's hitbox striking an enemy's hurtbox). A very good example of all of this was the exact timestamp you laughed at, the quick transition is supposed to make the animation look snappy, making it more impactful (Big anticipation, quick release, long hold), a lot of stylized animation styles don't really follow realistic rules 1-1, reason why a lot of stylized animation styles can look "Goofy", "broken" or not make all that much sense when seen at low speeds or frame per frame, but look good at fast speeds.

The game is basically MVC meet musou
Which makes sense because Lycaon would be a charge character 😅
animation-wise, yeah
gameplay-wise its *just* DMC Beowulf, like straight up, down to Hold EX Special being Kick 13
Dante is already in honkai3rd
He never skips leg day
I really like his combat Style

Thank you for uploading this. As an animation student, this makes a good reference.
I wna see lycaon oiled up 🤤🤤🤤

Greasy fur sounds ….messy
U NEED GOD
agree
Nah bro I’m getting oiled up for him 😛
Thanks banget udah ngebikin video slow motion lycaon❤
I wonder what's his story behind his legs. Was it blown up or eaten
In that world context more like corrupted
It probably related to his old friend in the gang that I don't remember the name in the story
Isn't it just iron boots

I really hope we'll get an answer to that someday because I'm hella curious about that (and who is his vampire ex-friend too !)
0:39 ERGH GYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!!!!
Furry Sanji was my first 5 star
Pretty much my Main ever since
Vergil Beowulf

Yes and here is the Director of VHk, always elegant and composed. "Time to hunt" 🐺 🧐

Lycaon = sanji but with ice 🧊
Now you make me want a ZZZ and One Piece crossover lol
That animations look so cheap... Bad work, animators...
I've been waiting for this TYSM
