Down the street from my office in a midwestern mid-size city, a developer/lender group TORE DOWN a nice 5-story brick bank building and built ANOTHER CAR WASH! The car wash was completed 8 months ago but as yet is unoccupied and unused. Street people are beginning to hang around, it isn't mowed...some investor group from the Carolinas owns it but won't comment or answer any questions. Does this seem weird to anyone else? Was it built on spec? car washes are very 'now' investments financed by P E of course...
