the play is to hit with a pair of 7's. Weird thing to remember and its only for single deck blackjack is you surrender a pair of 7's against a 10.

the hand he split the 7's about 5 min in. if he didn't split, his hands from right to left would be 20, 20, 20, 19, 19, 21, 19. Dealer would've had 24.
But it seems to have worked in the long run

You split sevens if the up card is a 7 or lower.
That board was way messier than it should’ve been after the split, it worked out tho
When you get one round away like that from your winning limit, you play one less hand. The secret sauce

I think you just hit on the double 7 against an 8 instead of splitting. Assuming dealer has 18 you can end up with two 17's or you get low cards and your at risk of busting yourself twice if you get 5,6, or 7 puting you in busting range where that card would have been a nice addition to your 14.

The player 7 hands. the magic power to win is when the last hand is a pair of 10's , you either split or take a card to bust even if you have 20 therefore the dealer will bust and you win the rest.
