Believe it or not, there is actually a fix for this. Expensive, but it can be done. The cost is not going to be cheap (maybe 8 to 10 mil), and the fix will likely allow another 20 years or so of life to the stability of site and structure. In a strange way, the material that has dropped into the ocean can also be "addressed" such that it actually provides more protection for the slope above.

Yikes. And on the East Coast you have homes by the ocean collapsing into the sea in places like North Carolina.
