very interesting BUT Regarding the 'Witness' piece by Susan Hiller in which she notes that the Third Eye was unknown to Europeans before Blake’s Time. That’s not really the case I think. Fr. Philospher Rene Descartes in the early 17th century - so a century earlier than Blake - described the pineal gland or third eye as the "principal seat of the soul".
MrRemorseless; You’re very welcome. To the best of my knowledge, none of the Blake programs I’ve posted were ever repeated on TV. Such a shame given the amount of effort and love that clearly went into making them.
@@tonysharp1615 For context ,( its 7 books long) ; perhaps read of Jakes' exploit in The Drawing of the Three. Also book 7 The Dark Tower , where imagery is stronger.( by comparison ) to established characters
I mean no offense to the presenters, but surely there can be no understanding of the Blake 'essence' that is not somehow diminished by the pervasive, (apparently) contradictory, formal, academic, Queen's English, ruling class presentation of his work here. I suspect it would represent everything he stood against ... !
If we by "testing" we mean school, testing, I call BS. The opponents of school testing merely don't like the reults it gives: that some students are smarter than others, and that fact often emerges along lines of race/ethnicity.
That is nonsense. You should read Bourdieu in order to understand that the academic "meritocracy" (i.e., the system of testing and credentialing) is actually a direct reflection of inherited privilege and cultural capital.
to all those who love the imagination thank you
thanks for sharing these, from across the pond
You’re most welcome.
Absolutely amazing 😲🔥❤️
truly appreciated!!...much thanx...♕

@@tonysharp1615 yes it's very strange to not rerun it. Perhaps poor archiving on the studios part?
Thanks so much for posting this Tony. Fantastic.
Swedenborg was talking about the third eye, so Blake would have also known. No mention of Thomas Payne, too.
See through the eye by all means but please realise true vision is via the hidden eye of imagination.
@47:44 the pundit chides the narrator to learn the words to Blake's "Jerusalem", and then he goes ahead and misquotes them! Classy......
In the movie "The Red Dragon" it was NOT Hannibal who ate the image of 'The Red Dragon'. I don't know abut the novel, though.
In re: The Rose, consult Sttephen King's "The Dark Tower", The Rose becomes one of a few motifs of the work.
I’ll check that out. Thank you.

Thanks for clarifying that. I’m intrigued by that; I’ll be sure to check it out.
He would have hated billy Bragg
Billy Bragg prefers the Red flag to England's green and white land.
Jah Wobble gets it.
@@tonysharp1615 spot on! 👍

Yet, in this presentation, they want you to know that nationalism is bad
