It does not bother me when an influencer uses a limited edition product. It demonstrates they like use products they like and not just new releases. Please keep what makes you happy!😊
Thank you, Lisa! A lot of people in the comments have said the same thing. I ended up putting aside a few of this old but loved treasures and not decluttering them after all 😊
I agree! I think it’s sad when influencers declutter simply because it’s limited edition. You can always use it for personal use. Or even on camera, most watchers would enjoy that and not mind 😄
Honestly, if the shadow performs and smells the same as when you purchased it - you’re fine to keep it! I have shadows in my collection that’s been there for 5+ years and are still fresh and others that changed in texture and smell within 2 years (definitely thrown out). So don’t worry girl! 👏🏽💕
Thank you for this! I did end up holding on to a few of these older palettes that still seemed fine instead of throwing them away. Even if I just use them off camera, there's no reason not to continue to enjoy them!
Agree, my original UD Naked is definitely over five years old and works great, no smells, texture is fine. One of my go to, conservative looks for meetings at work.
Some of us own limited edition palettes and would love to see them used more (especially if we bought them based on RUclipsrs recommendations). I'm sure those who don't have something similar. If I want to recreate a look and don't own the palette (limited edition or not) I just find something different that is similar. Limited edition shouldn't be any different. Just my thoughts.
I think that makes a ton of sense! I think RUclipsrs that specialize in tutorials could do throwback days and revisit these old palettes as part of their channel. I’m sure a lot of people would enjoy that!
Shanna Noone yes! It’s a pet peeve of mine that you tubers won’t use limited edition products. I probably don’t have it, but i enjoy seeing it and can be inspired to do something similar.
@@Muslimah33 Some I own some I don't, either way I'm the same. And nothing errks me more than a RUclipsr raving about something so I buy it, then they never use it, then they declutter it. Super annoying. It's like a version of bait and switch. I'm a smarter consumer now and realize obviously not their fault, I chose to buy it. But that being said, what kind of person recommends you to buy something they know they won't use. It's like a bad salesman vibe lol. Not this channel, I'm new here. Just in general. If that makes sense LOL.
Yea I never understood the logic in that either especially as she did keep some LE things so I think RUclips's tend to use that excuse to justify why they don't want to keep something. Also do RUclips's not use makeup outside of videos?
Girl, don't worry about your powder products expiring. I use eyeshadow that is 10+ years old with no issues. If you love that Ciate palette, keep it because there is nothing wrong with it. It is safe to use and won't give you any issues.
Mariqueen Yes, agreed! Too often people are using the ‘expiry’ dates to judge the goodness of their makeup...Instead of using their eyes, nose and product performance. I look after my makeup and get many, many years of use. My record was a wax, twist-up, coloured eyebrow pencil. I used that pencil for 17 years and never had a problem with it. The only products I repurchase regularly are mascara and liquid eyeliners. My powder eyeshadows I will keep for years and years while they are still performing on my eyes.
I think it depends on where you live and how you store your palettes. I've seen declutters, all from humid tropical places, where some of the palettes actually got moldy!
I was wondering about that ... I only just recently started to compulsively (over) buy palettes and was already feeling a little sad that I only had up to two years with them. (Sounds ridiculous, I know ... but what do you expect from this kind of coping mechanism?)
You have a nice collection..It's nice to see that your decluttering OLD palettes and not just to get rid of palettes because you have a overflow of them...💕
Thank you! I try not to go overboard with my palette purchases. As much as I love eyeshadow, I try to keep in mind what I get in subscription boxes and PR and only shop for what I think I’ll really use and love.
I love that Suva beauty protege palette! I only ever use the cooler toned shades but I adore the look it gives and that glittery shade is gorgeous on the eyes!!
I missed these when they came out. I was on holiday so am catching up. Look at your cute nails today. So pretty. I have trouble decluttering eyeshadow palettes too.
I don’t know why influensters don’t use old palettes anymore and only want to review new products. A lot of us have the Tarte make believe in yourself one for example. I like it when you guys compare older products with the newer ones too.
I totally can appreciate that. I think the influencer community got a bit spooked and started to lay off using Limited Edition or retired products because they were getting a lot of negative feedback whenever they used products some of their audience couldn’t purchase anymore. So many people have commented saying that powder products really take much longer to expire than the suggested dates. Honestly, if it isn’t growing mold, doesn’t smell, and the consistency is the same, it’s probably fine to use! As an influencer I think I’ve adopted a mindset of passing things along after a year or so if I don’t use them regularly, if just to make room for new things to test. But if you have old palettes you love and they seem fine, I won’t judge you for keeping them!
Thank you! I admit I get overwhelmed with The palettes that I have, So I have decided that this year I am not buying one eyeshadow palette lol so I can enjoy my products ❤️

That's a great comparison! One of the biggest selling points of Winky Lux for me is the price, and I totally wouldn't want to pay a high end price tag for some of their stuff. And now that you mention it the Zoeva eyeshadow formula and Winky Lux one are very similar!
2016 to 2019 is actually less than three years old if that palette was released after january 2016... your emphasis on "MANY MANNNY YEARS OLD" is ridic... you can say it's too old for your personal preference without making less than 3 years sound like a decade...
I’m not sure which palette you’re referring to. The Laura Mercier one I bought in 2013, so that one is over 5 years old at this point and may have been the palette is said was many, many years old. The ABH one I know released for holiday 2015. The Kat Von D was fall 2016. So perhaps it was misleading for me to talk about all of these together with the only one being under three years old the Kat Von D.
@Isobel Salvatore Exactly. People will profess how much they love it and then throw it away anyway. These are the kind of people who are just making a show of getting rid of it, or have expandable funds to just buy more. ABH palettes used to have a symbol on the back claiming it was good for only 6 months after opening. Who throws away a palette after half a year.
CiaoGalassia it’s a gimmick to get you to spend more money by throwing out perfectly good palettes and have you buy more. Unless you live in a more humid area that causes palettes to turn faster, there is no reason to get rid of perfectly good palettes based on those year suggestions.
Great declutter!!! I just love when Americans (and I mean this with absolutely no negativity) have issues with shipping prices cause I think welcome to Australia where if I wanted the Dominique cosmetics Latte palette I would have to fork out $70usd for just shipping yikes!
That's so bananas! I know some of my Canadian followers have similar complaints. It's super expensive to ship from the US to other countries! Ultimately I know we're super spoiled here with all the brands we have access to. Thanks so much for watching and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
So right now I really only receive regular PR from Derma E, Pixi Beauty, and Karity. I've received a lot more one-off PR from brands, or received goody bags at events like Generation Beauty with PR from multiple brands. Or like, with a brand like Sigma for example, I've been sent a few amazing PR packages from them, but I don't get sent all of their new launches like bigger RUclipsrs do. As a small influencer I've been really fortunate to have been sent so many free things over the last few years, but I'm not at the place of having multiple packages showing up at my house every week.
I only throw away expired makeup. The majority of what I declutter is given away to friends and family. Part of my logic is that if I love something but don’t use it enough, I’d rather it go to someone else with a smaller collection who will appreciate it more, rather than it going to waste sitting in one of my drawers for months.
It does not bother me when an influencer uses a limited edition product. It demonstrates they like use products they like and not just new releases. Please keep what makes you happy!😊

But if you have old palettes you love and they seem fine, I won’t judge you for keeping them!
Thank you! I admit I get overwhelmed with The palettes that I have, So I have decided that this year I am not buying one eyeshadow palette lol so I can enjoy my products ❤️
What's on your eyes in this video?
I’m wearing the Persona Color Theory Kit in Copper for the mattes and the J.Cat Chromatic Pigment in Mirror on the Wall on the lids! I just reviewed the pigments recently if you want to see swatches of more colors 😊
@@laurenashley3708 awesome!... I'm a newbie to your channel! Thank you so much!
I was wondering what the eye lid color was as well! Sooo pretty.
What’s on your eyes today? It’s beautiful
I’m wearing matte shades from the Persona Copper Theory Kit and the green is the JCat Chromatic Pigment in Mirror on the Wall. I did a video about them on Saturday if you want to see swatches/learn more! 💜
Winky lux in Europe is as expensive as zoeva in the US. A winky lux eyeshadow palette costs about 35$. Not really worth it for what you get
That's a great comparison!
Try beauty bay. I am sure it will cost you nothing.

So how many makeup wipes died in the making of this video?
LOL! A few 😆 you can remove quite a few swatches with one wipe, though!
I am soooooo jelly... in EU we do not have the Boxy Charm :(
It would be awesome if some day they were able to make it international!
What companies give you pr?
So right now I really only receive regular PR from Derma E, Pixi Beauty, and Karity. I've received a lot more one-off PR from brands, or received goody bags at events like Generation Beauty with PR from multiple brands. Or like, with a brand like Sigma for example, I've been sent a few amazing PR packages from them, but I don't get sent all of their new launches like bigger RUclipsrs do. As a small influencer I've been really fortunate to have been sent so many free things over the last few years, but I'm not at the place of having multiple packages showing up at my house every week.
Lately the declutters talk about playing with the makeup. And the items are guys. Anyone else notic
If you like a palette and even enjoy it, why throw it away? Smh....do you have so so much or?
I only throw away expired makeup. The majority of what I declutter is given away to friends and family. Part of my logic is that if I love something but don’t use it enough, I’d rather it go to someone else with a smaller collection who will appreciate it more, rather than it going to waste sitting in one of my drawers for months.
please give some of them to me i don't have a much makeup Please its a big request please i need it
