This is the best Koguchi battle theme so far and one of the best in the series. The melody is so hummable, so memorable and flows beautifully. Not to mention that breakdown section just before the loop, which takes the massive explosion of energy from the prior sections and disperses it just perfectly with the smooth transition to half time while harkening back to a “rock” feel to add a little serious factor to an otherwise very jubilant theme.
Honestly the horns sound awful in this one, but everything else is stellar so I’m willing to ignore it. Songs like this are why people love Falcom so much, right?

Yeah, the sound quality can be a bit iffy sometimes (that's what happens when the late Masayuki Kato doesn't let them use live instruments) but the soul and talent in the work is undeniable. That sentiment applies generally: Falcom games aren't pushing the technical boundaries of gaming, but they are made with passion.
This song has me thinking something I thought when I first Beyond the Dawn years ago I have faith that Koguchi certainly has the brightness and confidence to straight up lead a video game OST if he was in an environment that gave him the time, coordination etc. God-dammit, man...
Seems like this one will be called "Detoxify the Snake Venom! -Command Battle-", according to VGMdb's page on the album. January can't come soon enough, I wanna know for certain the names of my favourite tracks!
This shit is so good, I only *ocassionaly* changed the battle music in the grim garten, most of the time I just thought the this song was perfect for grinding, I kneel Koguchi.

Everything since CS3 has been so average to good when they used to be great to exceptional over a decade ago

I think battle junction 1209 is better but this one is also great.

The synth used for parts of the melody (like at 0:30) just sounds so rich and full of life. That's what you call SOUL.
