      Chris Jag - This is the truth! I can’t speak to other games, but Fortnite is absolutely better with a thumb stick for movement. We just need to break the old habit!

      @@regan57 , I never liked WASD; it's why I've always played shooters on console, even after controllers became available and more compatible with PC (because I'm not going to use a controller vs mouse.) Even in Heroes of the Storm- I thought "I *really* want to control my camera while I play." That little joystick-like-thing on the Tartarus combined with all of the close-together custom keybinds has made a world of difference. I've tried telling friends; but they don't wanna hear it. Thy are content with their 'gaming' typewriters. A friend of mine was watching me stream and said "hey your camera is following you; but it's not following you. Is your lock-on malfunctioning? how are you playing like that?" - "no, I'm doing that. I don't play with my camera locked to my character, ever. I control my camera with my 'thumbstick.' I have the arrow keys mapped to the stick. I control the camera as I play." He played a few matches and said "I'll be back later; I'm gonna change up my binds." I *think* he tried to think of a way to do what I was doing with my camera. He never brought it up again; but I doubt he figured out a way to control it quite as easily as me.
      My PS4 blew up and now I can't play Apex Legends. I tried messing around in Borderlands with the Tartarus; but it's still not good enough for FPS imo. I was literally about to invent my own keypad with a joystick (along with click-in L3 functionality.) I had my friend drawing up blueprints for me. Then, by chance, I came across a video of someone using the Azeron. Thank God; someone is finally developing a legitimate gaming device for PC. I have faith that the Azeron is it. It's been long enough, right? There isn't a such thing as a gaming keyboard. Whenever I talk to my friends, it's like I'm speaking a different language. I don't get why they take it so personally and defend the keyboard like I'm the one who's 'wrong.' I'm not gonna just settle for a typewriting mechanism that has been unchanged in 30+ years. "Hey, we threw lights 'mechanicalz,' 'tactile feedbackz,' and moar lights on these keyboards. They are for gamarz. come buy one!" People even bring up the "it's all about personal preference" argument. Keyboards *are not* gaming devices; there is no argument. They were designed for *one* thing; and they are *very* good for that thing- but not gaming. Just because people have gotten used to keyboards doesn't mean we should settle for less. *Do* people 'prefer' the keyboard or is that what they're just used to? (because there hasn't been much of a choice).
      The Tartarus is not only more comfortable and convenient than a keyboard; but it actually gives me an advantage in MOBAs. Great binds and camera control without having to move my hand or fling my mouse to the edge of the screen is a huge deal. I know that the Azeron is going to do the same for me in the FPS genre. I'll finally be able to play competitive FPS games on PC.
      Seriously, keep spreading the word. I'm sure you'll convert *someone.* There is going to come a point where all you're going to see at championships is people with Azeron-like keypads, just like how you don't see Xbox controllers all over the scene. Keyboard won't hold a candle to keypads, like controllers can't touch the mighty mouse. Joystick is to movement as the mouse is to aiming.
      I'll be purchasing an Azeron next month. They are expensive; but they are worth it. They are being created by a very small team- a team of people that are actually innovating/engineering/pioneering the next evolution of gaming. Even the Tartarus wasn't Razer's original design. Belkin n52 was purchased by Razer. Look at the Nostromo, Tartarus, Orbweaver, Tartarus v2, Tartarus Pro- virtually unchanged, just like the keyboard. "For gamers, by gamers." 'gaming keyboards' are a joke. Azeron is the truth.

      @@regan57 , not professionally or anything. I'm just decent at writing/typing. I'm actually going to give stand-up comedy a try. I *was* going to jump right in, but then I found out that I really do have PTSD. I thought i wanted to get back into the military when I initially joined the Reserves; but I was wrong. After breaking my back and realizing that it was no longer an option, I had to be completely honest with myself- It's *not* what I 'wanted.' It was just what I was used to and would have been the 'easiest' route. God gave me an insane revelation about comedy and I was offered paying gigs just because the Chaplain's doors were locked. I wanted to tell him the good news, that I was feeling much better, better than ever. After realizing the doors were locked, I saw a random guy walking down the sidewalk, so I told him instead. I was like, "YO)))))))), you goin' to see the chappy, too? He ain't there, mang. But, dude, I am one with the one who can walk on water, the one who is one with the father. You heard me right motherf****, I am Skywalker." He said "give me your name and number! Here's mine." I also told him that I'm a hardcore video game nerd. "I'm the marketing director here. If I start booking you for paying gigs, will you show? There's also an event coming soon; it's like the Cochella of esports gaming and comedy. I'd like you to come to that, as well."
      Everything seemed to be looking *way* up, but then I had an experience that triggered my PTSD and I also had to confront that. I used to deny it; and for the most part, it did die down after I had found God and some good friends/mentors. But after that encounter where I realized that I do have PTSD, it bared its fangs in full. Now I'm just trying to focus on getting out of the military all the way. after all of the out processing and medical stuff is taken care of. I'm going to go after comedy. Oh, my back isn't broken all the way. I'm mostly healthy/fine. I guess God just had to really get through to me "Hey dumb ass, I took you out of the military for a reason the first time. Here, now you *can't* do that. I want you to *live* ."
      It's crazy; I've come to find that I also have an uncanny ability to freestyle/rhyme. Not only that, but before finding Azeron, the Jesus of gaming pads, I was about to start working on it myself instead of waiting for someone else to do something that has always been with me, since childhood. Comedy is the same. That's kind of what got my attention- "Hey, wait a minute... these guys are spewing out *my* messed up thoughts and getting paid? What have I been doing with my life?" Comedy could have simply been a metaphor. I think that the overall message is that I should use my gifts and talents, instead of being a happy slave. Basically, I'm going to do *something* artistic, fun, and fulfilling with my life. I don't know how I'm going to get across that intense and violent ocean, over to whatever is beyond the horizon; Either I'm going to walk across it, or God is going to part the sea. Have a good one, dude.

    I just picked up a v2 and SteelSeries rival 5 - I’m trying them moving as a console player to Using this type of set up for games like CoD, Fortnite etc… so only really tried it for a few days since getting my set up. I always knew the learning curve would be steep having played on controller pretty much all my life. I’ve found getting the right key binds def helps, may need to play around trying different set ups but after a while you’ll get a feel for what you want where. I haven’t tried thumb stick for movement so this was interesting to watch. Will allow me to,better bind keys to functions I need to use quickly. But so far for the limited use I can see benefits, better accuracy . Control on target. Hip fire far easier than on controller for close to medium engagements

    • @kadenkaden4
      @kadenkaden4 5 лет назад +1

      @@regan57 Not sure if this is optimal, but one thing that made the transition smooth was that I had two builds (floor & stair) on my mouse, and kept my wall on my ring finger. This made building a rather painless transition. Spent a good amount of time in edit courses, and did a lot of free building (which I do normally anyway).
      It seems we both struggled with jumping, I actually messed around on a death run map with some friends, this helped build some muscle memory while having a little fun as well. Although I think simply playing the game is the best way to get used to a new jump bind. Jumping up on cars, trying to clear one tile on a jump, climbing obstacles in houses without builds, are things I did while rotating during public matches to help clean up timing and in-air movement.
      Swapping weapons was something I fumbled a lot on the initial switch, and is a skill that I think some people overlook when changing binds. Kept my shotgun in the same slot because it is typically the weapon you need to access the quickest. Kept my SMG in the same spot, but am using my middle finger, and moved my AR to my index. To work on weapon swapping I hopped into an aim course (Teadoh's Training Island v4 - would recommend) and did the "Zombie Flick" drill. After I eliminated a zombie I would switch to the next weapon in this order AR - Pump - SMG and would repeat. Then I did a snake order AR - Pump - SMG - Pump - AR. I did this during my aim warm-ups, to increase the efficiency of my time (two birds stoned at once). For my fourth slot, I carried a grappler while I was free building, and anytime I fell I tried to quickly swap and grapple before hitting the ground.
      Overall, my biggest advice would be to find ways to train muscle memory while doing something else, whether its something fun (death run), or you integrate it into other parts of your training (swapping during aim trainer). I think it builds muscle memory faster because you're focused on another task, while still using that new bind. This will help you adjust quicker to new binds while making it more fun and efficient.

So it is expected to be pretty pricey. However there are other alternatives to getting off WASD! For example, I play with a Razer Orbweaver. While it doesn't have 360 directional movement, it has an 8 bit keypad. So you can use bind the analogy type part as WASD. Really simple to do. It means you can move with your thumb, complete movement control, while having your WASD and more free to have as other binds. Still a definite advantage in gaming. I don't understand how WASD was ever a thing. Three fingers dedicated to movement and you still have to tap other keys like Q, E, F, Shift, Ctrl, etc in the midst of holding down at least one key at any given time for movement (forward, left or right). What do you do when you want to move forward-left diagonally and you need to press Q? Seems ridiculous. Some people still use WASD on keypads, because they can have 8 keybinds on the hat. But what happens when they have to press any of the other keys while retaining their current movement.... Keep holding down (foreward) and periodically tapping left or right while straining to reach the key they need to press? Gross.

      LAMBS 60FPS PS4 - Those are compression gloves, they help with blood flow. Not related to the keypad. There is a keypad meant for PS4/Xbox called the Hori Tac Pro, and it had a joystick just like a traditional controller. Look into that one!

    Anybody good @ photoshop or drawing? I'm no physical artist; I'm just an idea man. Make a gun with RGBling and send it to rgBungie. I bet you could make the meme go viral and they'd actually put it in the game. If not, I bet other people would catch wind of it and it'd end up in Borderlands. You'll become a legend.
    If anyone asks you what inspired you, just be honest. Say some crazy person who holds grudges against trivial things. Bonus points if the gun is also a friggin' keyboard.
