Airplane approaching Athens Ellinikon airport - 1975

Description:
The filmmaker is on a plane approaching Hellinikon Airport, the old international airport of Athens.
The flight is coming from Croatia and in the first shot we see the clouds covering the ground. Then the plane, having maneuvered, allows us to see the coast of Attica with the Piraeus peninsula standing out. In the background we see the city of Athens.
The plane turns to align with the runway over Laimos Vouliagmenis peninsula. We see the Marina with the boats from the window and the hotel facilities of Asteras Vouliagmeni. Last shot as we pass over the Kavouri peninsula.

Το αεροδρόμιο του Ελληνικού, με την ιστορία που έχει, θα έπρεπε να είχε χαρακτηριστεί ως χώρος πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, και να αναπλαστεί με τέτοιον τρόπο ώστε να θυμίζει και να διδάσκει όλες τις ένδοξες στιγμές που η Ελλάδα χρωστάει σε αυτό. Δυστυχώς όμως, τα κοράκια της Lamda Development, θα μετατρέψουν το χώρο σε ένα αντιαισθητικό τερατούργημα κτιρίων και συγκροτημάτων, για συγκεκριμένη μάλιστα κατηγορία ανθρώπων, το οποίο κιόλας δεν θα ταιριάζει καθόλου με την υπόλοιπη Αθήνα, μην πω με την υπόλοιπη Ελλάδα. Θα είναι κάτι σαν "Κράτος εν κράτει".

Δυστυχώς έτσι είναι έχεις απόλυτο δίκιο
Έχει υπόστεγα προπολεμικά, έχει υπόστεγο ξύλινο φτιαγμένο από τους Γερμανούς κλπ, συν το Ανατολικό που είναι του διεθνούς φήμης αρχιτέκτονα....
