"This show's gonna hurt my feelings, isn't it?"
Oh Angela, you have no idea.
Hope she still has lots of tissues with her.
Even though the show tells you this at some point, I like to mention this early to avoid confusion: "King" is Bradley's first name. His title is just Führer.
I didn't realize that till maybe my 2nd or 3rd watch through lol
i watched this show as it aired and i’m just getting the whole fuhrer king thing now, cheers ;¬)
Roy also means king, random thought
Dude, why does your comment also say 6 days, but the vid hasn't been up that long xD

She's a REDACTED!
I can just hear the line now. XD
AHAH, yes, indeed, she is a REDACTED !
The coolest~
i don't get it. is she something special? sorry it's been 20 years since i saw this and forgot everything
@@mikehoang31 Referring to her catchphrase. Probably can google it if that doesn’t ring a bell. Wonderful woman.
the scene where Al loses his body and Ed had to bind Al's soul to the suit of armor to save his life still makes me cry like a baby 😭 especially when Ed says "He's my little brother, he's all I have left!"
The voice actor for that scene did such an amazing job. You could feel his pain.
@@funnylilgalreacts IKR! it still shatters my heart to pieces, even to this very day everytime I watch it
@@funnylilgalreactsits also pretty much toned down from OG, in 2003 it was a bloody creepy scene, which actually served as the opening to the first episode.
Yup. I must have seen that scene a dozen times by now. There are tears every time. It is just such a powerful moment.
@funnylilgalreacts his name is Vic Mignogna. Met him several times. He's a really cool guy. He even spoke as a guest speaker at my old church.
"I dont know what hes singing but its a bop" sums up just about every single anime opening and closing theme 😂😂

The fourth opening is my favorite. Now that I think of it, the fourth opening of FMA and FMAB are both really good.
Look up leeandlie she sings a lot translated versions of anime songs
Winry: grandma wanted me to tell you she's making stew tonight!
Al: F*CK YEAH!!
The (untranslatable) irony in Ed's title is that the Japanese word for "fullmetal" can also be read as (or sounds like) their word for "stubborn", so Bradley's making a pun based on Ed's character.
Almost correct. Edward's title 鋼(hagane) doesn't mean fullmetal, it actually means steel. There are a bunch of words in Japanese that roughly mean stubborn, but none of them sound like his title. What is true is that "being steel-like" is an expression of stubbornness much like how in English you may say someone is "unbending" to mean they are stubborn.
Some new viewers get confused about Bradley's name/title. To be clear, his title is Furher and his name is King Bradley.
Hoping you will love the show as much as the rest of us!
Some translations make it Furher Bradley, others President Bradley, but I'm pretty sure I at least once read a translation (can't remember which it's been so long) that made it "Fuhrer President" which, if you also mistake "King" as a title rather than a name, gives him the absolutely absurd title "Fuhrer President King"
@@CirqueDuFreak2000 I believe Fuhrer-President is used in the Manga's English translation.
The title of Bradley in Japanese is 大総統 (daisōtō). 大総統, as a word, isn't used in Japanese : if you search for it, you'll find Bradley and FMA related webpages. It's basically built as a portmanteau of 大統領 (daitōryō, lit 'great leader'), which is the translation for '(elected) president' and 總統 (sōtō, lit 'rule(r) over all/everything), which is the translated title used in Japanese for many facist leaders, such as "Fuhrer (Hitler), Generalissimo (Mussolini), Caudillo (Franco), ...".
So both "Great Fuhrer" or "Fuhrer-President" can be read as adequate translations of 大総統 (daisōtō).
Now, if you take in account that Hitler, starting in 1934 after the death of Paul von Hindenburg, assumed the duties and powers of the president (by first incorporating them into the office of the Reich-chancellor, which he held) - he was both a Fuhrer and a (de facto) president, but used only one title. It might be the same here, which would make the simple translation of "Fuhrer" equally valid.
So a fun fact is that, the author grew up on a dairy farm, which is why there's so much milk propaganda in this show.
Also, now you know why Al sounds so young. His body can't physically age so, despite being 14, he sounds much younger. Cause he has the voice he had when he lost his body. The voice of an 11-12 year old.
ah dairy farm, that explains her other work, Silver Spoon which i enjoy
@CMLT. Yup. And why her author avatar is a little cow
"This show's gonna hurt my feelings isn't it?"
In the best, worst ways. Welcome to the great anime experience
If you go back in this episode and last episode. You can see Bradley suddenly has his sword in his hand from shot to shot. As Ed is running up on him; his sword is sheathed but when Ed stops you can see his sword out behind him. Amazing attention to detail on the animators part
Because they knew people would look for it
It's so awesome, right! I just wanted to add that it's a very anime thing for characters to do something so fast that no one can see it, and you only see the effects of the action moments after it happens. It's kind of like showing how good they are at that thing
Did you catch the clever thing they did with the names of the characters in the military? They’re all named after military vehicles, mostly planes. There’s the P-51 Mustang, the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley bomber, the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye, and of course the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
They do such thing quite often in anime productions. The characters from "Neon Genesis Evangelion", for instance, all have namens from Japanese WW2 warships. Or the characters from "Scrapped Princess" all have names of weapon manufacturers. And so on...
Ive been a fan of this show for a long long time and this is the first time I've heard this explaination, which makes the show so much better knowing! ty
"mustang" is also a term for soldiers who rise up through the ranks from the bottom to the top without connections or privilege to boost their career, or something to that effect.
SPOILER - just made the connection that Bradley 1v1'd a Bradley
@@CirqueDuFreak2000 In the US military, Mustang usually refers to an officer that was previously an enlisted service member. If they go to West Point, they usually have some connection they're leveraging to get in, but they still have to graduate on their own.
This show will drag you into the depths of despair, but the joy becomes so much sweeter. Just, trust the show with your emotions.
"i dont think thats what you were supposed to get from it" 😂 seriously! This is one of the main reasons i latched onto the show when i first saw it. I was a moody depressed kid, my dad passed away when i was 9, he was so young too, only 31. I saw the boys losing a parent and immediately related to them. I saw what they did and saw what happened to them as a consequence, but my little kid brain thought "i wish i could do that, i wish i could bring my dad back"
I feel that. I was full grown when my dad passed but i still wished i could have brought him back. Now at this point both my parents have passed. Losing loved ones never gets easier regardless of age, kids just arent equipped with enough rational thinking to endure. I know your pain
Alchemy is 100% a knowledge thing.
Theoretically anyone could perform any possible transmutation, provided that they have the knowledge.
The prologue explains it a bit.
3 steps:
1. Understanding matter
2. Deconstructing matter
3. Reconstructing matter.
In understanding you need the knowledge to essentially analyse the starting materials and visualise how it would be rearranged into the final product.
In deconstruction you break apart the starting materials as far as you need to be able to reassemble them into the target form.
In reconstruction you stitch, weave, weld, and mould the deconstructed materials into the thing you want.
Notice when Ed creates the spear during his exam how it creates a depression in the floor, that's where the material for the spear came from (he deconstructs that part of the floor and reconstructs it into the spear).
Obviously it's easier to turn firewood into a wooden table than to turn organic material, like an animal carcass, into a wooden table (though theoretically possible) because in the one case I need to only rearrange the existing wood, while in the other I need to rearrange the atoms in the meat into wood, which is a bit more intensive chemical understanding.
Turning a steel table into a wooden table would require knowledge of nuclear physics... I'll need to be able to visualise how to turn iron into carbon, this is much harder than using something already comprised of carbon, ideally it's already made if wood.
Given the complexities involved, alchemist generally specialise in a handful of transmutations. Isaac McDougal was really good at manipulating water, especially the temperature of it, but he could also, if he tried, pull a spear up out of the ground like Ed does in his exam... McDougal would just have to hit the books before trying.
Alphonse definitely has the "I've known him for 5 minutes but if anything happens to this pure sweet boy I will riot" energy to him. Also thought I'd get in early and say I appreciate the work Xander, I think most of us know how much of a pain anime in particular can be to get through the copyright blockade
This so much. I've seen a few people react to this show and Alphonse is always immediately the bean that must be protected at all costs.
"What is grief but love persevering" - best line ever from the MCU. You will meet everyone in the credits eventually, and a whole lot more interesting folks. I love the opening song, _Again_ by Yui, even though I don't understand the words! And yeah, this is an emotional show that does go very dark sometimes.
One thing that might be useful for you to know that's not really a spoiler, just some useful background - is about the transmutation circles. It's not like Avatar benders, where you're born with the ability to bend one element. Think of Alchemists in this universe like... specialized scholars or weapons. They usually focus on one specific niche, element, or 'style' - they often spend years, decades even, mastering their specific type, and developing their own unique transmutation circles that do very specific things. For example, in episode 1, Major Armstrong talked about the 'alchemy passed down the armstrong line for generations' - their specialization being physical prowess combined with combat alchemy utilizing the metal gauntlets he wears.
This is fairly important and become more apparent as the show progresses. No one else can do flame alchemy like Mustang, not even close. Just keep in mind that just because one alchemist can do something really well does not mean another can do anything similar
Yeap all of this. Some people can do basic alchemy but it take years to start doing more complex interactions. Hell it's one thing to be a doctor in this universe it's a whole extra PhD layer to be a medical alchemist.
It’s sort of like real world skills, in a sense. Anyone can learn to drive, but only a few can be good enough to be a NASCAR racer. And like with any amateur alchemist attempting Roy’s flame alchemy, anyone attempting NASCAR without the requisite skills and training will probably end up dead.
Or like being a doctor. In theory anyone can become a neurosurgeon. But that’s only if they have the right training and skillset. You wouldn’t want a dermatologist to attempt to remove a brain tumor.
This was potentially my favorite reaction to FMA:B I've ever seen. You caught so much others miss and yet you still felt the emotions of the scenes. So often people either get caught up in their emotions and forget to pay attention, or they focus to much on all the worldbuilding and other analytical things and barely show any empathy at all.
I interpreted the intro showing Ed and Al losing their limbs and body and Winry stumbling as her losing both her friends joining the army while the army is also responsible for her losing both her parents in the war through soldiers as she said in this episode. She hasn't lost any body parts but her life changed a lot.
One of the best animes i ever saw.
On the tenth viewing it becomes pretty funny. Them losing their limbs and her being caught off guard by the wind😂.
Kinda like a phantom pain like experiencing phantom limb
Also losing her parents. I saw a video about it that pointed out what Winry lost wasn’t a body part but affected her just the same.
I do get it - but they could have at least knocked her down. She just.. slightly lost her balance for a moment.
I think it just represents how she was deeply affected by the decision they made, despite not having anything to do with it. Every action has repercussions that go beyond us.
I love the how much desperation you can hear in Ed's VA's performance "Take my leg, take my arm, take my heart, anything, you can have it!"🥺 To me, those little bits of pure humanity that seep through performances outside of reading what's on the script is one of the reasons this dub is so great, not to mention most of the cast reprised their roles after getting a few more years experience under their belt.
Heres a cool thing abt Ed and Al. They were able to do alchemy as 10 and 11 year old boys. Thats not an easy feat. Theyre basically doing PhD level chemistry as kids. And in a fight, Ed and Al are having to do that on the fly. Its a testament to their natural talent and hard work
10:39 “F**k Yeah!!” 😆
(You’ll understand later lol)
She needs to see this. After, of course.
"He's my little brother, he's all I have left!"
That's the line that breaks me every time. It's the opposite of Powder's line in Arcane; "she left me. She is not my sister anymore!"
there's a neat difference between how the anime and the US translation of the manga handle that moment (neither better, just different). In the anime Ed is pretty much roaring the whole way through- "take my arm, take my leg, take my heart" are all said with the same fury and all said in a heated emotional state. The manga has him pause in the middle of his list, look at his hands for a moment, and then quietly (indicated by font) add "you can even have my heart". Slight difference in that he takes a moment to calm slightly from the heat of the moment and when he offers his heart it's clear he's thought through exactly what he's offering.
Hey Angie,
the Outro is called "Uso" (meaning "lie") and is about the singer and a beloved person that lied to him about their reunion in the future. It is only hinted that that person was just not able to fulfill that promise because he/she died. It is actually a really sad song. It fits the anime in some aspects as Edward and Alphone also lose many important people. Here are the translated lyrics, I can recommend listening to the full song:
Hey do you still remember
The red color of that evening sky
Like the whole world was burning right before our eyes
Back when we made a promise
Our words carried off into the wind
We held each other tight back then
The shadows
That hide behind your smile
You put on that mask, hoping I won't ask
So I don't
Pretending I don't see
The shadow smiling back at me
I was always waiting for you
To bring me some kind of news
When deep inside I knew
Those cold and long, endless nights
The mornings that will never arise
I can see them all clearly before me
Hey do you still remember
The red color of that evening sky
Like the whole world was burning right before our eyes
Back when we made a promise
One we knew that we could never keep
It vanishes upon the breeze
The reason I drew to you
Was because you hated lies too
But that was far from truth
It's all too overwhelming
'Cause you deceived me so skillfully
Don't know why it had to come to goodbye
We both waved at each other
Saying "see you soon, another time"
But it would seem that day would never see the light
Even though it was a lie
It's the kindest one I'll ever find
I won't forget -
Hey do you still remember
The red color of that evening sky
Like the whole world was burning right before our eyes
Back when we made a promise
One we knew that we could never keep
But it lives on in you and me
"bradley's sus" had me rolling. Glad I subbed to the Patreon for this! THE MUSIC
I think I might sub to her Patreon just for this series.
You haven't missed any yet, but always check for after credits scenes. There are a few episodes that have them and they add context you miss in the main episode. I'm excited for you to continue. This is such an amazing show, and such a perfect introduction to just how amazing anime can be. You're opening up Pandora's box of amazing content :3
You're going to need a year's worth of tissues to get through this show. It's an emotional rollercoaster, but in the best way.
This is not spoiling anything about Bradley. I’m just explaining something that happens in ALMOST EVERY anime.
But it’s a very common anime trope that amazing swordsman’s are so fast their movements can’t be seen. The whole walking past a opponent just for them to realize they’ve been cut as the swordsman sheaths their sword has to be one of the most common flexes you see in anime. Really cool to see someone react to it who isn’t familiar of these common tropes.
One of the things I love about this show is how it goes hard on the rules of its "magic" system.
Hard enough to reverse Clarkes' third law into "Any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from science!"
And how it all is based on our real worlds alchemy.
It gets really philosophical and goes heavy on the metaphors and allegories.
Fun fact; The author has stated that Armstrong is her ideal type of man.
She has stated that "Men should be buffed and women should be vavoom!"
He even appears as a background character in one of her later series (silver spoon)
Not sure if it matters, but even though Macdougall was called the freezing alchemist, he primarily controlled all water, thus creating steam as well. He just specialized in ice, hence the nickname.
Transmutation circles are specific designs for specific purposes, the circle the freezing alchemist used were for transmuting water. Thats why state alchemists are kinda specialist in their research. That what makes Ed abilities so special he can transmute any material whenever he wants, so long as he understands what its made of he can deconstruct it and reconstruct it using alchemy
Indeed, its meant to emphasize just how intelligent the Elric brothers are. Their mother wasn't just being generous when she called them her 'little geniuses'. They really are both incredibly smart. Alchemy is a lot harder than it looks, and its one of the main reasons why anyone can technically become an alchemist, but most people in the show are not alchemists. It takes years of study and the mental aptitude to memorize the transmutations.
Props to your editor and whoever does your custom title cards per show you react to. Definitely one of the things I look forward to when you start a new show is what’s the title card going to look like.
"This is a bop" is something you'll be saying often if you start enjoying more anime. In Japan, the opening and ending themes for anime are typically done by actual bands and pop stars as opposed to how it's done here in the US where they just task the person that does the soundtrack of the show to make the theme.
Yeah some of the songs are fire... also 'This is a bop' is pretty much what I said when I first heard the Intro/Outro here XD
@@LoricSwift Yeah, both this and the 2003 show's first openings are incredible and among the most iconic anime themes for a reason.
The English voice actor for Roy Mustang is one of my favorite goofballs, Travis Wilingham.
Alfonse is the heart of the Elric brothers. He is very much his mother's child.
Vic Mignogna does the voice acting for Edward in the US translation. When fans asks for requests to say a line from a series, one of the favorites is Edward saying, "who are you calling a pipsqueak?"
Reminder that he was axed from voice acting for a good reason, and people are requesting lines from him a lot less now.
@@pwnorbepwnedWhat reason? Too friendly with younger fans? Seems like that’s what happens, you get someone too accessible and cuddly and acting like one of the fans themselves and later find out they also party with them (and more), age notwithstanding. I wish I could say I hadn’t seen it elsewhere, but sadly I have.
@@BeeWhistler There was entire court case where a fellow voice actor accused him for pushing her down on a bed in a hotel room.
And when that stuff came out Vic basically went "I have done bad things, thus Im taking therapy and counselling for it", so he admitted to doing SOMETHING.
And yet that court case proved NOTHING@@MillyKKitty
@@SilverFang95 He still admitted to doing something. Whether it was related to the court case or not, he still did something.
Granted this whole thing happened like 5 years ago, so the sources we both most likely went through probably weren't the most neutral parties *cough* hero hei.
Caleb Hyles has an amazing English cover of "Again," the opening song.
Anime intro songs are rarely DIRECTLY descriptions of their shows, usually just thematically relevant.
Caleb knocks it out of the park with every one of his covers, so much so he even got invited in to be on an official soundtrack, getting to sing Ironwood's theme in RWBY for the official soundtrack
This is a good anime with a clear beginning and end, you will not regret finishing this through til the end.
"I don't agree with what she said about not crying for those who have passed."
If that's a common attitude/saying, that sentiment does say a lot about the culture they're living in.
It's pretty common in Anime for characters to be able to move faster then people can see. It's usually called something different in every series, though.
10:39 “FUCK YEAH!”
As a medium, animation allows for the visualization of some of the most beautiful, dynamic and otherwise impossible creations of human imagination. There have been a lot of interesting and amazing stories that may have gone untold without it. The artwork in Fullmetal Alchemist is amongst the best.
The thing I love about both versions of Full Metal Alchemist and what makes them both so timeless is how far in both directions it's willing to go. You're in for a wild ride of highs and lows, and the story does NOT pull its punches.
I love how you immediately went to all the reasons that their father COULD be away instead of jumping to “deadbeat”.
fuhrer is his title, King Bradley is his name like Edward Elric is Eds name
You're going to really love their teacher.
It's an anime thing for certain characters in certain situations to be able to swing the sword before people can see/react. For Bradley, the sword was sheathed the "attack" happened and you see him on the other side with the sword drawn.
Looking closely, you could see slashes when King Bradley confronts McDougal. When Bradley walks away from Edward, you can see he has his sword in his hand. Dude is fast.
King Bradley's title is Fuhrer. First name King.
Also further context! What ed and al did was of course taboo and extremely illegal. When mustang went looking for the Elric brothers, he was expecting to find some older men, probably in their 30s. The boys really are prodigies and extremely talented. Learning alchemy is like a college level sort of science. Al didnt become a state alchemist because you have to undergo a physical when youre applying and he kinda cant do that 😅. That was covered in the manga of course as well as the og 2003 anime. They rush through alot of earlier stuff because of that.
Wasn't Mustang just looking for the Elric's Dad?
@@oq1106 no, he was looking for the brothers, he states it's multiple times in the episode
Just letting you know king is just his name but he is the ruler
This is an apex cream of the crop story. One of the best works of fiction ever made. Prepare yourself
Fun fact, the voice actor for Roy Mustang is the same person who voices Grog in Vox Machina!
This was the show I grew up on!! So many happy and sad tears. Im so happy you're watching this!
I knew you'd feel kindred with Edward, and I'm so glad you dote over Alphonse. You're going to LOVE this show.
This is one of the few animes where the dub is acceptable.
I’d definitely recommend watching the intro and outro credits. As you’ve noticed, they sometimes offer bits of foreshadowing or exposition. Also if memory serves, some episodes have post credit scenes which are typically heavily plot related.
Look at transmutation circles as physical representations of quantum physics. Each circle is responsible for changing one state of matter or otherwise into another. And the greater refinement on the circle the better it functions. Hence why certain alchemists only do certain things. Because they're refining the specific function of the circle they use.
Hurt your feelings? This show destroys me! I'm a middle-aged man bawling like a child every time I'm watching this 🤣❤
I was shown this series by my big sister when I was almost certainly too young. My sis basically observed how much I cried at certain points and said I didn't cry as much as she expected. And I WAS BAWLING.
Al is our little guy, I love the boys, they’re great. 💞
It’s so refreshing watching someone craft theories of what they think is happening.
It brings back memories of when I first watched the show years ago
"this is a bop" SID is a great band!
I love your reactions, because you're so invested and reflect so much, it's very engaging.
I love this intro so much:
Ed: "Ow my arm and leg!"
Al: "Ow my all of me!"
Winry: "It heckin' wimdy!"
Generally speaking when someone makes the mistake of human transmutation they don't return. Just the fact that Ed survived the attempt showed his talent and abilities. Be ready, the boys dont have an easy road ahead of him
Btw, Mustang is voiced by Travis Willingham, the voice actor for Grog in Legend of Vox Machina 😁
Also Laura Bailey voiced [redacted] and Troy Baker voiced [redacted]
@@brandonokeeffe1193 she hadn’t gotten that far, wasn’t wanting to spoil 🙄
@sammiebray1661 spoil what? that Laura Bailey and Troy Baker voiced characters? Is it a spoiler if the character has already been in an episode though?
@@brandonokeeffe1193Don't give away future characters before they've had their introduction.
@lagerku.3137 there, took the names out even though she got it in episode one and picked one of them, and she has already seen ep 3 so would have been introduced to one anyway, happy now?
Love the amount of discussion in these episodes! It’ll definitely be a benefit when things get more complicated
the truth has a really messed up sense of humor:
their mother was everything for al - he loses all his body
bringing her back was what moved ed forward - he loses his left leg
al is ed best friend, partner, younger brother, right arm - he loses his right arm to attach al's soul to the armor
Don't worry about the dub vs sub thing, u have a very good reason for your choice, plus this show is one of the very few that the dub is objectively better...
"Quiet child, this is what you wanted, isn't it?" God I fucking love Truth. Get some serious Gravemind end of the world kind of vibes from him that is just so fucking cool.
Ah yes, the Human Transmutation scene that traumatized me in 6th grade. If I remember correctly this was my first anime and a fantastic intro to anime. You're gunna love this story!
Did anyone tell you that Roy is voiced by the same person who plays Grog from Vox Machina yet? If not, here you go 😂
Oh boy, here we go for the ride😂
I've never caught a reaction series to FMAB so early in its run. I love it. Love the genuine emotional response. FMAB is one of the most important stories I've ever had the pleasure of being exposed to. I hope you enjoy this series.
I would *highly* recommend the OVAs, as well, there's about 5 of them, shorter than an average episode, and are great for worldbuilding. I hope you give those a watch as well. There's also bloopers! After you finish the series, be sure to react to the bloopers as well, they're a big hit with reaction channels!
Are any other anime on your radar at all?
Subatomic shrimp 😂😂😂😂😂
13:23 "Oh that is so dark..." *instantly gets darker*
Welcome to this great show, one of the best ever imo!
This show is a tearjerker. Ed and Al's backstory isn't even the biggest tragedy you'll witness. There is some really cool stuff going on in the show though, and it presents some fun philosophical debates.
In the opening, Al loses his body, Ed loses his arm and leg, Winry gets absolutely wrecked by a gust of wind.
I get what they were going for, but it's so funny to me regardless
Be ready to embark on a great journey.
The way the show teases and delivers answer is a really pleasing experience. Very well crafted.
"im so much like edward 😁"
Me: in what way, being short? 😂
Stubborn, feisty, short, incredibly powerful
This is one of the shows that I watch when everything is too much and I need to cry. There are multiple episodes that trigger the massive wave of tears I need to feel better again. We will all be right there with you for those episodes, like this one, that crush you from the inside out. 💖🫂
Great review, glad your getting invested into the show.
Your definitely in for a ride with this show.
Don't worry.
In 2 or 3 episodes, you will be unable to forget or misspell Edward's name ever again. 😉
"King" being his first name, our beloved leader is *führer King* Bradley, which sounds kind of redundant.
However, the subtitled version I watched thought that this wasn't enough, so they named him *president-führer King* Bradley.
Just to drive the point home. 😅
You bastard, I see what you did there. Can't wait for that one...
As a guy, watching women cry at the sad parts in anime is so great. I am so trained to bottle that up, it's really nice to see someone react appropriately to the pain of two children. 😁
No I'm so glad you're doing dubbed bc my ADHD ass cant JUST be watching a video I have to be drawing too bc I'll get bored trying to do one or the other alone so having to read subs would be a ball ache.
Also I love the dub of this show
Btw Roy Mustang is played by Travis Willingham which you may remember as Grog from Vox Machina. There other folks from critical role who pop up as well.
FMAB will always have a special place in my heart! I hope you enjoy as much as I did! ❤
you're making me want to re-watch the series. I've only watched it through once and I fucking love it. Only 5 seasons, 64 episodes, so emotional, the action and animation and humor and heart is so good, one of the best of all time
awww man this episode hits hard but these things happening in the original fma series omg i died😭
I know, right?! I feel for a newcomer to truly "get FMA", they need to watch the first half of the story in the original 2003 anime, then return to Brotherhood at around ep. 10 or so, to go forward with the story as told in the manga. The original covered the early events in Ed & Al's lives in much more depth, and was much more emotionally powerful than the way Brotherhood rushed through the early material from the manga series in order to get to the part of the story that had not been told in anime yet.
Yea you and Edward give me a similar vibe and that's quite a compliment. Love a pintsized badass
Well, I know the ending song's lyrics start with "I know he'd need a soda". May not make much sense but if you listen that's what it says. Maybe it's a metaphor for how thirsty some of the characters make me.
this show has some of the best intros and outros, my favorite is the intro 1 and 3
Oh wow, you're finally dipping your toes into anime and with the storytelling king of shonen anime no less. Hold onto your seat for an absolute rollercoaster! :D
Be extra, extra-careful in avoiding spoilers for this one. This story unveils its many mysteries, slowly and meticulously, spoiling them would be criminal :)
Don't worry about the the lyrics though, it's just the typical lyrics for the genre of beating shonen angst and hurt though determination and comradery.
Lady, you don't know just how accurate that shirt is for this series!
She's not missing a finger its just how it was drawn _hands are hard to draw_ 15:24
"I don't know what they are saying but the song is a bop" me with kpop
also gratz on 100k!!!
Man, this has to be one of my favorite anime ever, there's a few anime that have Dubs so good, that I cant watch them Sub anymore and this is one of them. super excited that your watching it!
I also want to say, this is an EXCELLENT beginner anime, I find that it eases you into some of the more common anime tropes that if you dived right in it could be a little confusing.
Honestly, the dub on this show is one of the few from older anime that does the show justice. I don't think anyone ever complains about it, at least not that I've seen. Normally I'm a sub over dub kind of guy, but there are some exceptions and this is one of them.
You have questions aboutbthe dad, teacher, etc... but this show is VERY good about explaining things. They wont leave a lot of things dangling for too long and it wraps up very tightly
Oh so many anime tropes you'll have to get used to watching your first anime
