As soon as I saw Shelby post with this apartment I was super hoping you would both get it or at least that one of you did! So happy to see you in this home away from home/downtown office and excited to see what you guys do with decorating the space!!
I was rooting for Shelby to move to NYC so i could live vicariously through her but after seeing this condo I was hoping she’d choose Seattle. So glad to see you guys get to enjoy this space for the year!

I think that too. I can't help but think that once the novelty has worn off, it's just gonna be Shelby living there and perhaps she'll start wishing she got something in New York instead 🤷♀️
No hate, it's just how it seems to me. It's their decision and since they're splitting the cost, it's obviously cheap enough to lease for a year to get a good feel for it i guess.

I’m happy for the two of them. I was really hoping that Shelby would have kept traveling around the United States. She stopped going to new places to explore after going to New York. Some people find it very hard to get out of their comfort zone. I wish nothing but the best for the two of them. The place and the views are beautiful.
Opportunites are abundant. She gets to live in the burbs and work out of this amazing apartment in the City with her twin. Sounds prety amazing to me!

As someone that doesn’t live in Seattle but loves the city, you are LIVING. Having a high rise with incredible views and around the corner from Pike Place?? SO DREAMY! Also the flower bouquet moment is so real, hope I can do that one day too 😂
For $1M, it better come with an island lol! It is a gorgeous view! Working in it would definitely be a bonus!

I’m 55 and have always dreamed of a place of my own. Due to health reasons through the years and other things beyond my control, I am sad that this will never be a thing. But I am totally living vicariously through Monica and Shelby. That view is everything!

Monica you’re right it is the quintessential Seattle view! I lived on the top of the counterbalance on Queen Anne for three years and I went down to Pike Place market every weekend very early on Saturday mornings and got my flowers and got my coffee and enjoyed living that close to town. I grew up in the area and I am in Newcastle. There’s so many great neighborhoods! Honestly I love the condo!
I know RH for example has dedicated design consultations and they can help you figure out what furniture to get and plenty of ideas on how to arrange them. Maybe that could be another video idea for you? "Are interior designers worth it after you get your new place?" Something like that. Congrats!
That would be cool. Especially after they got burned a few years back from that "designer" they hired. It would be nice to see a legit designer experience
I love it! This makes perfect sense! You get a dope work space Downtown with your sister. Your sister gets a Seattle "homebase" and since you're splitting the cost it frees up money for travel and perhaps even another apt in a different City! Makes sense to me! I own two Airbnb's in a nearby City, I get to block off time for myself when it's not occupied and utilize it as I see fit when I feet like! It's nice having options!
I could tell how badly you wanted this place when you interrupted Shelby as she asked if you could postpone the lease signing in case she likes something in NY. Glad you got the place!

Yeah seems like a waste of money imo (which is only my opinion and means nothing and not meant with any mean intent) just seems like the money would be better spent either paying extra on your mortgage or maybe living in your house without roommates and making the extra room your work space.. 🤷🏼♀️ I’m kinda surprised Shelby wanted a place in Seattle, she always talks about not wanting to come back to live there.

As a Canadian Seattle is one of my fav places to visit. As a matter of fact I will be there in about three weeks. This condo is a dream! I loved it in Shelby’s video. I hope you enjoy your time there.
My husband and I are planning on moving to Seattle next year in April 2023! We’re so excited and want to be close to Microsoft and Nintendo because my husband is going into Video Game Design. So fun watching you enjoy living in downtown. I lived on First Hill back in the 90’s when I was about your age (28) and I loved being able to walk everywhere! Was a great time. Enjoy! And watch out for those tourists who insist on asking “where is “Pikes Place Market”? It drove me crazy. I gave up trying to correct them.

The condo is beautiful with great views! I love the ideas for design. You could put the dining table across from where it was made for a TV. You could enjoy both views and make a small seating area by the city view windows. A TV on the wall nook where you want the couch. I am excited to see how the family room and kitchdn turn out! This is so awesome. Both the place and being able to hang with Shelby more. So fun! When I saw Shelby's post about Seattle vs NYC....I was like omg the place in Seattle is amazing and I was originally rooting for NYC!
It's funny that panel-ready appliances are rare/high-end in the States, in Europe it's super common!
To be honest this unit looks so good, that it's making me wanna move there so bad. The vlog was so good, the building is so pretty. Loved it.

Pike Place Pig! The Place looks amazing and I can definitely see how it's energizing you creatively! It makes total sense that a RUclipsr would be more inspired from a home rather than a studio / office space! (I get it's a unit / condo but you know what I mean). I've run my business from my home office for 6 years but a real office space just doesn't inspire me. Looking forward to the awesome content you and Shelby create here!😀
Pro tip for parking in any large lot/garage: get one of those tile things that people use to find their keys and instead leave it in your car (like the glove box). You use your phone to find the tile, which means you'll find your car!
They also have letters/number system most of the time. Take a picture of the closest one to your car when you get out and its easy to find when you get back. Most flight attendants do this.
Except if there’s multiple levels. You’ll know the location but not what level the car is on

I remember you having your old office and being really excited but not using it as much as you thought. Also remember you having Fort George beer in the office fridge and Vortex became (and still is) one of my favorite IPAs now! I hope you get a lot of use from the new apartment/office. I LOVE that the island matches the rest of the kitchen and is on casters so you can move it around! I don't think I'd ever move from SW WA to Seattle, but maybe the sound area. I really enjoy going up there. Instead of putting the dining table against the wall, what about two softer arm chairs that you could work or edit from with a smaller bistro style table or shorter coffee table next to the windows by the kitchen?

Its a gorgeous place with even more gorgeous views. I love Seattle so much, we live 30 min south of Portland and spend a lot of weekends in Seattle, its one of our favorite places to go for a relaxing weekend! I watched Shelby’s video about this place, its interesting to see your different opinions and views about it. She was soooo excited about the floor to ceiling windows! I haven’t seen after you’ve moved in yet with furnishings in place. I need to go watch those.

Hi Monica , awesome vlog , love the idea about that Seattle down town feeling ! We live in Vancouver and I think we are , not by much mind you , a little bid cheaper! A 1000 sq feet on the 17th floor is about $ 1.25 million Canadian ! Had no idea how much that would be in Seattle! The view is spectacular in the unit you are renting ! Congrats. Beautiful condo. We live in a two bedroom condo in uptown New Orleans. No impressive city view however we really enjoy having our own private patio. Your video gave me some good ideas on updating our kitchen. Keep on sharing your wonderful adventures.

I totally adore the flowers from the Market. My husband proposed at the top of the Space needle when we were looking out the telescope at Kerry Park where we had our first date. Then we walked to the Market and bought dried flowers that I still have almost 10 years later.

As a Houstonian, I can not fathom a 1MM price point for a one bedroom anything. That money is a 5-8k sqft mansion here. I bought my home for 265k (which in this market has certainly increased) a year ago. 4b 2.5b house… sheesh Seattle is pricey. But it’s a beautiful view for sure! And if you’re young and have the money- go for it! Why not?
It is wild but people like me love the city!!! The price really has to do with location, not to mention how many ppl are wanting to move into cities! Idk how ppl raise families in the city!!!

SeaTac airport is actually the 2nd largest parking garage under one roof in the entire world 🥲 I work for Alaska and always forget where I park 😌 Some days, I remember to take a photo of my parking spot while running to clock in hahaha

for that space between the island and where you want the table, i would do a longer table and place it the long way towards the kitchen. then it swallows a bit more space and makes it not look awkward :)

Amazing place-the views are amazing of Seattle. I have grown up and still live in the area-Seattle shines when they sun comes out. To have a creative space seems wonderful-I had to work at home for a year and a half due to pandemic (teaching from my house)...did it-but I would much rather go to work. The rooftop looks beautiful..you should do a meetup? Have fun and enjoy
Absolutely love that condo; you look so happy too. I wish my hubby would like to move up to Seattle, but he likes the desert heat. For me it is so fun to see the places you walk, because I was in all the places when I visited there in 2016. I adore Seattle.

Hi Monica I understand that you love this new apartment, a place to get your work done, get more inspirations for the next vlog, also thnking and maybe planning for your next to do in your life. I think its great, sometimes you need your me time after the hustle bustle of your real-estate 9-2-5 job which you are doing a great job. When else you can do this, before married life, before kids, you need your own #me time, you are a content creator, enjoy it, you are not younger forever. Good luck and can't wait

I never said all of Seattle looked that way:) i was just curious about the state of the immediate downtown area because I have seen certain video clips and I think it’s important to address safety:) however I have seen it looking very rough in many many areas of Seattle, consider the giant line of tents and broken down recreational vehicles that plague the side of the road next to green lake. That is just one small example. Consider the fact that there were 3 shootings in a matter of 2 days in downtown just this previous January. Look, Seattle is a fairly large city. I don’t know if you have ever been there but your comment implies not. Many people care about the state of the city but if you have been there on a consistent basis over the last 10 years, you would know that yes, there are some areas that have gotten worse over time and downtown is rough. I just think it’s important to talk about.

I think a good layout would be to have the lounge area set up for the tv, but have a comfy armchair with a side table set up for the water view for like a reading nook/ coffee spot
On my car, if I’ve hooked my phone up to Bluetooth when I was driving it, I can go in Apple Maps to directions, and it will direct me back to my car! Like My Car is one of the options in maps next to home and stuff. It’s saved me a lot when I forgot where I parked!

That's downtowns for you: people, activity, excitement, shopping... but it can also be the wrong kind of people, activity and excitement (is there such a thing as wrong shopping?). It's all in your point of view.
Life is crazy. You can do everything right and the worst possible outcome can happen.Bad things happen no matter where you live. I visited Seattle in September 2021. I had no issues with any people when I walked around downtown. I even walked over 46,000 steps when I was there in just one day. I had a great time.
@@MrSwagnificentSpeaks I'd like to think the flip side of what you say is true as well - you can live a long time in a city and never have anything really bad happen. P.S. I hope you were wearing really good shoes - that's a LOT of steps!
