I found my small bowel + abdomen MRI relaxing! However you lie on your tummy with your head almost poking out the tube so it doesn't feel so claustrophobic, compared to e.g. brain MRI ❤
had an mri recently and as someone who is sensitive to sound... i cannot say i sat perfectly still. all of the sounds were really cool but some of them startled me really badly lol, i like the ones that are cyclic and predictable albeit loud edit: 6:20 was the one that almost made me cry :D
I don’t understand, is this what it would actually sound like while getting an mri? If that is the case, what’s it doing exactly and why does it need to be making those sounds? It sounds terrifying to be inside a giant machine with some of the strongest man made magnets ever doing things to your body.
as i understand it, the only sounds that are caused by mechanical movement are the continuous chirping or breathing sound, in the background, of the cooling system working to keep the magnets cool, and the magnet coil occasionally slapping the casing of the donut ...the vast lion's share of the sounds are entirely due to electrical stimulation of the magnets and the unavoidable (and required) sounds that such stimulation causes.
It’s an electromagnet. The mri sends magnetic pulses through your body and causes the hydrogen atoms in your body to spin and in turn reads the signal it gives off and is able to put those signals together to form an image. Hydrogen is magnetic. The magnets are suspended in liquid helium and when they produce an image they spin around in the tube
I could see why some folks could have such wildly different experiences in these... some of these studies don't sound that bad / are soothing, others are frightening..Depends what they're having checked..
i am a klaustrophobic person but when i get inside of that machine i got an intense bliss and relaxation. these sounds gave me relief that they almost feels like a music
I'm taking a neuroimaging class for my master's and the way my profs are explaining the physics behind MRIs is super confusing... I think hearing the pulses is helping me better understand how the protons are pulled into alignment.
Idk why. I know there nothing to worry about considering it was my first time. I felt like I was going to die even know all MRI dose to you is scan your body in a different way to other scanning machines such as CT and X Rey😂. (I know MRI scans are different to CT and X Rey)
Being put into a tight tube and told to stay still does make some people panic. It's not uncommon. I got too anxious and they didn't let me keep trying. I'll have to try again another time. I'm looking at wide bore and open bore machines. If you feel super anxious too it may make it less bad.
@@kioku119let me tell you a story about how and why I got an MRI. So at my school it was lunch time and we where playing basketball 🏀 together with my school mates and the best player on the other team was dribbling and I was right beside him trying to get the ball off him and he saw me and he stoped really fast and I kept going forward and when I tried to stop my right ankle on the outside not the inside part. I rolled so hard that I couldn’t even put pressure on it. I went to one Physio but they were not good but then my mum remembered an old friend who works at a physio. They had the best chance of getting it better. After a few times of going there the physio said I think he needs an MRI because my ankle was not getting better I went to get the MRI done and when I hoped into the machine I was feeling fine until I wanted to ask a question because I started feeling anxious 😬 when I started talking to him I started to tear up. I got so scared the rest of the time I was in there but after I was finished they said if you ever come back for another MRI there’s nothing to worry about and I felt so relieved that, that was over. They said I had 2 cysts in my ankle but they where tiny so I didn’t have to get surgery and till this day I’m doing foot and ankle exercises that the physio has sent us to do. Hope you enjoyed my story about how I sprained my ankle 😊

Why is it that the retractable bed isn't in during self-calibration? Or is it in actual life and this is a still background photo? I mean, I'd assume during calibration you'd want the response from the bed, however small, to come out exactly as it does during the subsequent diagnostic run.

I will have to have a brain MRI in September. I will be used to the noise of this wonderful machine but the only fear I have is accidentally pressing the call bulb and not being put on a headset otherwise I will have to make an appointment with an ENT
I love these sounds they put me straight to sleep
Same here. I had my first MRI, and it was smooth sailing; I literally slept through the whole thing
I had an MRI and I loved it
Track ID anyone? Cant find it on beatport
yes exactly this . i had my hand scanned . they had it in a clamp and me lying on my stomach. my hand hurt like hell. then my headphones slipped off one ear and i couldn't get them back on so i heard it full power.
A mi me hicieron una sin ponerme nada en los oidos lo escuche todo muy fuerte duró como 50 min😢
You didn't have a way to communicate with techs? I had a bulb in my hand to squeeze in case I had to. So sorry for that! Noise is doable with ear protection but ow without!
same, except we dont get any headphones or panic buttons here.
Would be really cool to see the audio analysis done with a 3d Spectogram! Or something similar. There would definitely be a few free plugins for this (or maybe standalone programs).
That's a great suggestion! I'll definitely look into it. Thank you!

i am so glad they put ear muffs on me going in... that would have sucked so bad
I loved the back ground beat!
I went thru this morning, It was very scary experience in my life. Terrible sound + unable breathing at small compartment. Eventually I pressed emergency button after 5min. Switched over to CT scan. Just like move from hell to heaven. Lesson learn, don’t Torture yourself with MRI. Peace 🫰
I was lucky with mine I had it at alderhey children’s hospital in Liverpool England, they have a full body mri and I had one, the ear defenders worked super well and they put a mirror in them so I could see my mum and the tv behind me and they let me pick a film and I could see and hear it through the ear defenders
I found my small bowel + abdomen MRI relaxing! However you lie on your tummy with your head almost poking out the tube so it doesn't feel so claustrophobic, compared to e.g. brain MRI ❤
had an mri recently and as someone who is sensitive to sound... i cannot say i sat perfectly still. all of the sounds were really cool but some of them startled me really badly lol, i like the ones that are cyclic and predictable albeit loud
edit: 6:20 was the one that almost made me cry :D
My guy are you okay? Also yes I did listen to the video you sent
:3@@Ahirix
I don’t understand, is this what it would actually sound like while getting an mri? If that is the case, what’s it doing exactly and why does it need to be making those sounds? It sounds terrifying to be inside a giant machine with some of the strongest man made magnets ever doing things to your body.
i got an mri before school in the morning and it was terrifying, it’s very loud even with headphones
yes this is exactly what it sounds like.
it is a combination of sounds from varying aspects of the machinery.
nothing to be scared of.
infinitely less harmful to the body than radiation.
as i understand it, the only sounds that are caused by mechanical movement are
the continuous chirping or breathing sound, in the background, of the cooling system working to keep the magnets cool,
and
the magnet coil occasionally slapping the casing of the donut
...the vast lion's share of the sounds are entirely due to electrical stimulation of the magnets and the unavoidable (and required) sounds that such stimulation causes.
Realy good to know thank you
I thought you said “sigma” at first. Lol
Loved it!
@@kioku119 at least you tried it for a little
@@kioku119great job for giving the scan a go
@@kioku119let me tell you a story about how and why I got an MRI.
CT scan is composed of literally hundreds of xrays.
mri really has no known harmful effects and the bonus of the innovative mri industrial music is great !
I could listen to this all day :3
I’m having one on my spine in 3 weeks. But I’m not worried as I always fall asleep when I am in it as I just relax
I’m obsessed with mri’s
When your getting an MRI and this beat starts playing
Эти адские звуки вроде от катушек исходят. На сколько я помню.. Ну звуки адские.. Когда внутри него лежишь..
I've always told people mris sounds neat. I've had several and rather enjoyed the beat.
Yea i loved the sound💀
You don't wanna be there fr
IT IS HELL
I've had it like 20 times in my life so far it is not that bad... they give you hearing protection and the whole thing takes 15-20 mins, sometimes I even almost fall asleep.
@@kookaburra574yo how old are u
Wdym i was there 45min☹️
It just takes a long time when you're in the machine, I had one today for my shoulder after they injected dyes into it and all that good stuff, I fell asleep for about 1/3 of it and played like made up Star wars movies in my head based off the sounds and then the other 3rd I was trying not to laugh at the sounds it was making because mixed with the music they had playing in the headphones, it sounded pretty funky😂
Such a fascinating piece of technology
Thank you for watching!

I have type 1 Nf so I have the luxury of getting annual brain/neck scans
Better than most contemporary music!
Never had a MRI so that's good to know.
Do our hydrogen atoms produce actual sounds through a MRI?
Is there such athing as a silent MRI ?
no
There can never be a silent MRI, unless you have the power to change the laws of physics.
through the power of chloroform lol
@@norman157 I'll ask next time 😅
Скажу что я там был, звуки очень громкии, как будто на сатурн летишь, эта херня и дышыт, страшно пиздец, сименсу большое спасибо, сделали вклад

my favorite 1:00
I am sampling this for an EDM Banger. I have MS, and make the radiologists laugh by saying it's like being trapped inside a bad Dubstep track.
i’d have a panic attack fr 😃😃😃
What would happen to a human if they were in the machine during those calibration runs/tests? Is it safe still? Does it produce an image/output still?
ive ben yrayed a handfull of times in my 39 years, but ive been mri'd 3 times. never thought much about the pros and cons of the different scanners, untill i i had underwent abdominal ct this year. my understand was: were in 2024, tech is advanced, so modern cts have very low dosage.. turns out, abdominal ct, is still very high dosage to this day and i dont feel good about that. if id known that beforehand, i would have insistend on an mri scan, instead of ct
i love the siemens better for the experience i feel like an f14 pilot and the rwr sounds when a misile is launched
Can you put more mri sounds please?
Why is it that the retractable bed isn't in during self-calibration? Or is it in actual life and this is a still background photo? I mean, I'd assume during calibration you'd want the response from the bed, however small, to come out exactly as it does during the subsequent diagnostic run.
i don't think this is a calibration; still photo with actual scan sounds, as you say, imo.
