This is truly a beautiful boat. It is the most beautiful ship the US has made, in a long time. I love it. The design of the ship is amazing. Looks very functional and well-armed. This boat reflects the good American workmanship. Congratulations USA.
The problem is that they only boast the 8 naval strike missiles for long range combat which are quite nimble, but have a very small warhead, while the older missiles used on Russian and Chinese corvettes are faster and their warhead is capable of putting a whole LCS out of order. Plus its aluminium hull will make it a furnace if a fire breaks out. The ships are both hard and expensive to operate and their structure is very fragile and limits the ships' survivability in combat
And wrong the Arleigh burke despite being quite old is the best surface ships designed by the USN in terms of effectiveness. It's only flaw is the lack of capabilities in ASW compared to ordinary destroyers
The LCS suffers from many design flaws such as aluminium hull which makes the ship useless once a large fire breaks out and has an armament which is incapable of countering attacks by corvettes of other countries. Despite the ships themselves being quite promising their problems make them of little use in a war
Sorry for copying the reply from another comment but it explains my point of view. This could seriously interfere with my night time import/export business despite the four mercury engines for each of my vessels. Wouldn’t like to have this breathing down my neck.
beautifull ship!! they did a good job in the design of superstructure with better aerodynamics than the most ships out there .... but with less capabilities from other ships and hight cost and very complicated system of propulsion . they want to sell this ship too Greece as a (frigate) but this ship cannot stand against the most frigates build in europe !! it has not to much space for additional weapons so the weapons on this ship are less (missiles etc) than europeans like freem, belhara ,type 31 ,sigma class, and german a200.
No actually I agree that this is quite a waste of money. Frigates are more needed by the USN than corvettes now and the lack of experience in corvette building have the LCS the many flaws that I listed in my other replies
Amazing new breed of combat ship. With very innovative design.
Wow this ship looks faster than a speed boat look at the waves it’s creating awesome 🇺🇸home of the brave👍

She's a beautiful boat ❤️
Good ship design/class idea.

These are like OPVs (Offshore Patrol Vessels).
