These washes could definitely find a spot on my shelf. For someone who is concerned with toxic vapors from enamels, I bet this is a welcome product. Even though it might not seem like the same thing as enamel at first, as with every product it needs its own method of application and can only become better with practice.
Acrylic washes are very easy to use over enamel or lacquer base colors. After the wash dries to touch, the excess can be easily cleaned with a Q-tip moistened with isopropyl alcohol. It is exactly the same principle as when cleaning excess enamel washes with lacquer thinner. If applied over an acrylic base, I first apply a coat of enamel or lacquer clear coat in order to protect the base color from being dissolved by the isopropyl alcohol at the moment of cleaning up the excess. I have always had good results.
Seems that blending wipes away everything in the area you want, so very nice products for accurate pin-washes. However, if you want to make some subtle shadows and grimes around details, enamels and oils are much better
The acrylic based washes in my expirience are best for filtering and pinwashing or for details on engiens. Its ok for streaking if you only want suttel streaks.
Great video for newbies like me. I like how "modeller" accounts with absolutely no content just come to hate on every single video LOL. We all know they don't have content because they are mediocre Kappa
Me pareció interesante el producto por la novedad, me parece interesante también si se elabora un vídeo comparativo de las ventajas y desventajas del acrílico lavado y el esmalte.
The acrylic based washes as least as I have used from Italeri and Vallejo are best for filtering and pinwashing on nobs or engiens. Its ok for streaking if you only want suttel streaks.
@@statoilbensin2190 very nice, i agree with you vallejo has been consistent and i see no reason to abandon their acrylics i have been using a wet pallette since i do live in a high humidity area mostly during the summer and spring, thank you for the tip about using them for subtle streaking effects will give it a try.
Have you changed some colors? I once bought a bottle of Ocher Wash that had a rather sandy color. The color of the newly purchased bottle is significantly more brown. :(
Am concerned that removing the excess wash would remove an acrylic base paint much like it would when chipping with hair spray or chipping fluid exposing the bare plastic or primer underneath?
Acrylics are horrible as washes. That is why enamels or oils are used. Remember boys and girls, that a wash is nothing more than a highly thinned or diluted paint.
@@statoilbensin2190 Don't pay attention to him, he is just part of the hate army. Usually the ones that like to hate it's because they are mediocre, just like film critics are failed directors.
Are they horrible as washes because they don't work as washes or because they're just highly thinned down paints? Because yeah, they're just thinned down paints but they do work great as washes. Are enamels and oils better? Yes, but that doesn't mean they're horrible.

looks like it stains a bunch. The enamel washes see 100% better in every case.

@@statoilbensin2190 absolutely, no problem using acrylics for some things.

a premium kolinsky sable brush for applying washes? Mig really does know how to take the piss.
Agree wtf lol
I'm surprised he hasn't released Mig Ammo Rubber Gloves. Hahahaa!
It is like those contrast paints from Games Workshop! Within 2 weeks videos on RUclips showed how to make your own with artists inks!
@@ClemDayOutbackMiniModels Ammo underpants and socks next!.
Hi, I tried using the wash for the first time and it melted the paint that was already on the vehicle. What did I do wrong?
if is understand it right, it is important to Cover the Basecolor with a Topcoat to save the Paint.
nice!

It wont as long as the paint has been dry for athleast some hours. I have tried it my self with Italeri/Vallejo model wash.
👍👍👍
When I apply enamel washes I cannot clean the excess after they dry with water. They remain as they were when first applied.
Hi, if you have done an enamel wash, water won't work. You should use enamel thinner, water only work with water base acyrlics.
@@alpertatkan874 Thank you
I prefer enamel

the packaging of these paints is terrible. uncomfortable to use and dirty diuring closing the bottle
Did not like them
Go buy a bottle of acrylic paint that you can dilute with alcohol instead of going bankrupt buying these unnecessary products.
