Just got my set last week, and gave them the proper test drive tonight at rehearsal. My band mates were floored at how perfect and pristine they sounded, especially the SE hats. Paiste Rules!!!
Hate to be the hater....but I've played the crashes and 22 ride at church and they were underwhelming. 18 crash was weak in person and the ride didnt seem smooth or complex at all. The 18" K med. thin and 21 sweet ride I replaced them with blew the 2002s out of the water
I have two sets of '70's black label 2002's. Standards like in this video, plus mediums. I mostly use the mediums as they have so much sustain and shimmer, but a few days ago I took my standard 18'' and 20'' 2002 crashes to the studio and they sounded superb. I never mix standards with mediums, but I might try. They are cutting and bright, but still so warm. I love them!
Zildjian has come out in support of BLM, which is a Marxist organization. Apparently the Zildjian kids are SJWs. If you're ok with that, ok. I'm not. My future purchases will be Paiste, unless they're Marxists, too.
@@don4476 In 2020 Paiste put out a statement in support of "racial Justice" but not the commies at BLM. Switzerland typically stays out of political crap.
I have a set of 2002's - 15" hats, a 16", 18" & 20" crash and a 24" ride - but wish I had gotten Giant Beats instead. The 2002's are a super polished sound. They're excellent cymbals but I prefer the character of the Giant Beats. I do wonder however when and if this type of cymbal will regain favor again It seems dark cymbals are what everyones been into for the last 20 years. But listening to the pristine quality of the 2002 sound I think they eventually might.
It not the most iconic Paiste line ever made. I’m going to order the 15” hihat, 17” thin, 18” thin, 19” thin and 22” ride. Would be my perfect 2002 setup.
There's Paiste, than there's all others. I can't stand the tone of Sabian (any model), Zildjians have a few decent Rides, but that's it. To cut through, get musical overtones, and get to complement your kit Paistes are it! I have a set of 2002's, and Sigs. I'll mix and match the crashes, and dam they sound unreal! The 18 sig crash is unreal. I've got to pick up a 20 2002 crash, and I'm set. The 8 inch sig splash is imo the best cymbal made......inch for inch that is
Toast Tee it totally depends on your play style and type of music. These are great rock cymbals, yes; great cut, yes. But they lack variety, versatility, and feel. Sabian really fills the gaps when it comes to extremely personalized sounds, same with meinl. They both have so much more variety than paiste and zildjian. I love most of these cymbals for what they are, and paiste is not a bad manufacturer by any means, but the statement remains, cymbals, like most of music, is totally subjective, and should be treated as such.
There’s naturally occurring traces of silver in all copper. There might be trace amounts of other metals but I doubt they’re added and just what’s naturally occurring wit ph copper and tin.
I play Istanbul Agop Signature 22 18 15 and a 20 China had Paiste 2002 20 dark ride it all depending on players taste or needs, perhaps next time i try some thing else taste is changing over time and is normal
Yupp.. the 2002 s : So .. can be used very broadly .. Reggae-Funk-Rock-Blues .. with their soft and warm sound .. I love them .. BUT ..! The black series .. from the 2002 .. the medium series .. woww ... very rare .. but .. these .. can be used .. in their jazzy .. due to their dark sound.. and the 602-serie are .. better than the k-serie - Zildjian .. my taste .. but the Zills .. are also good .. :)
Why is it they sound so much like Zildjian S family cymbals, i do love the 2002 classic sound, but Paiste pst7 is much much more affordable, just less hammered right?
Any local musical instrument shop near you should sell them or can get them but there very expensive like $700 for hi hats and over a $1000 for a ride and about $500 for the crash but so worth it. May very in other countries.
Philip b do live in Canada? Because they are nowhere near 1k for a ride here, more like 400 for a ride, 350 for hats, and 300 per crash, depending on sizes ofc.
The BEST cymbals in the world!

PAISTE is the Best...👍

2002's have always been my jam.
They are more than CYMBALS, Paiste makes things of beauty! Maybe that's why the haters hate them so much!
Beautiful sounding cymbals. Hi Hat and 22" Ride sound spectacular. And they keep sounding better as you mix them with other instruments.
MrNickDrummer yes! man! the best cymbal!

@@ethancundiff6422 Why? I love them, I think it is to each person's taste.
Sure bro, the measurements of this pack are perfect, I would like to have this kit of cymbals, but here in Mexico the currency is weak.
@@ethancundiff6422 Hate to be the hater, Zildjian is a woke company who supports the now defunct and always communist BLM.

Just pulled the trigger on this exact set - can't wait to get them all set up in the studio. :)
I'm using 15 extra heavy hats, 18, 20 crashes, 19 wild crash, 20 power ride and 22 ride. Love em.
2002 number one❤❤❤
Nothing like 2002s ⭐️❤️
Great promotion. Played Zildjian all my life. Very tempting!!!👍

What 2002 set do you recommend for metal playing? to have 2 crash

Is there any other metal besides copper and the much lower amount of tin in the 2002 blend.
