I love and appreciate how you broke down the difference between the genres of thrillers vs mystery. 😄 The Silent Patient was also my very first thriller, and I loved it!
Thank you! 😊
The Last Word was the most fun I've had reading a book. It felt like watching a movie the entire time
YES! My heart was pumping so fast 🤣
Hello Hannah, I am always looking for lists of great thrillers as they are my favorite. I absolutely loved Rock, Paper, Scissors. I loved that each chapter was the bridal gift representation. The Turn of the Key is on my TBR, I am late to the game. I do like Ruth Ware, The Woman in Cabin 10 had THE craziest ending ever! The one thing I didn't like about Lisa Jewell's book is that we never get the sense the wife is grieving her husband. Your top reads are on my 5* list as well. Daisy Darker is my most anticipated TBR. Thank you for such an excellent job of giving overviews as well as your feelings about the book. Such fun!
What a great list!! Rock Paper Scissors, The Last Word, Hidden Pictures, and The Housemaid are favorites of mine as well 😄
Daisy Darker!! Yass I loved it! The tWIST TWISTED!
YAY! I’m so glad someone feels that way with me!! 🤭
I agree with your definition of thriller and mystery! 💜 Rock Paper Scissors is one of my all-time favorites.
Yes, yes, yes! I can’t get over that snowy isolated church setting!
We have a VERY similar thriller taste!! I am standing with you on the Daisy Darker hill 😂👯♀️ I’ve read many of these buuuuut a few I haven’t so now I know I can trust your thriller recs because many of these would be on my own list!!!
WAHOOO! I’m not alone! 🤣🙈 I love it!
The housemaid, the last word, and the only one left are the only ones on here I’ve read. I’m shook. 😲 running to add all your favorites up on my tbr! 😂😂
Girl, WHAT!? You can’t go wrong with any of these! ❤️
My favorite thriller from this list is The Last Word! It was crazy and I loved it! Great Video thank you! I just like thriller videos as that is my favorite genre. Seems I have to look hard for those videos.
Thank you so much! 😊
Please do a video on best thriller type audiobooks!!!! I only listen to books! I would ADORE that!
I’ll start thinking of some! 😊
A lot of the books you mentioned are some of my favourites so I’ve added all the ones I have not read to my amazon cart and purchasing. Thank you for the recommendations and have a great day!❤
Absolutely! Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
The Silent Patient was also my first adult thriller, and it’s still one of my all time favorites! 👏
I STILL think about that twist. 😅
The Silent Patient! I’m sitting here wondering if they made a movie, because that is how vivid that book is in my memory! And it has been years since I read it!
YES, I think about it all the time! 🙈
Omg I think you put me back into a thriller mood! Loved The Family Game!
And The Last Word creeped me out so bad! I started reading it during a bad thunderstorm 😂
🤭🤭🤭
A thriller recommend video from the Queen of thrillers?! 😲👏🏻👏🏻
Oh shucks, what a title. 👸🤣❤️
So many of these are on my TBR already and now I am adding a few more. I am kind of new to thrillers but have enjoyed most of them that I have read.
Oh, yay! I hope you enjoy! ☺️
I enjoyed hearing about your first thriller and wanted to share mine. Since I am 70 years old, these books are kinda vintage(-: #1 The Collector by John Fowles #2 Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin #3 The Other by Thomas Tryon. Have you read these or heard of them? Check them out!
I binged Minka Kent’s books. She scratches an itch for thriller reading in just the right way.
Yes!! I am so excited that I discovered her! 😋
Loved these! I read most of these and had a great time. Lisa Jewell None of This of True was amazing! The last Word was WIIILLLDD
YES! 👏🏻👏🏻
I have only read The Housemaid but I really want to read more thrillers now! Great video, friend!
Girl, I am going to have you reading a lot of thrillers before you know it. 🤣🙈
Read the Last Mrs. Parrish, it's was The Housemaid was based off of, but so much better.
@@TM-ui9gtI loved these 2 books sooo much!
@@TM-ui9gtI would love a 3rd!
new subscriber!! thank you for the amazing recommendations :) cant wait to read em!
I’ve been really curious about The Family Game. Do you think I might like it? You get me intrigued every time you talk about it. 😆
Hmmmm, I don’t remember if it had an overbearing amount of language or not, but I think you would! It’s just a really good time audibly! 🙈
OMG, your list is amazing! I just added so many books to my wish list 🤣 creepy kids? Yes! People being crazy (or are they?)? Check! Revenge? Yes, please!!! Eeeee!!! Awesome video!
Yes, yes, yes! 👏🏻👏🏻🤣 thank you!!
New subscriber:) love your personality. Thanks for all the recommendations! Thrillers are my favorites. 💕
Ditto! I don’t know why I am just discovering her. 🤷♀️ but happy I did!
Aw, thank you so much!! 😊
I agree with your thoughts on the differentiation of genres. I divide into 3 - cozy mysteries, mysteries, and thrillers. 😉
Yet I don’t agree that Ruth Ware is a thriller author. I haven’t enjoyed anything by her that I’ve tried. But regardless I feel like she writes more mystery. 😆
I just finished "Murder Road" and loved it. It was certainly one of the creepiest thrillers I have ever read. Great list!
YES, loved that one! 😋
The lost girrrrlllll.....
Thanks, will definitely check out a few! I had too many disappointments with this genre, the ones I chose were just not thrilling. Very few I enjoyed, namely 4: the Therapy (Sebastien Fitzek), the Silent Patient, The Butterfly Garden (Dot Hutchinson) and Stillhouse Lake (Rachel Caine). Yet to try a Riley Sager book...
Daisy Darker is giving me And Then There Were None Vibes, so I’m picking that one up! And maybe also add Hidden Pictures to the TBR! 🎉
Girl, YES 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I just finished The Only One Left about 30 minutes ago. I don't think Riley Sager is for me. But I must say the last 100 pages of this book bumped up my review at least 2 stars (4⭐) for me. I got chills/goosebumps through this book towards the end. It really did redeem itself. Glad I stuck through it. Great book. I added a lot of your recommendations to my list to check out.
Yes! His twists are always crazy!
Have you read Local Woman Missing? I loved that one
No! It’s on my TBR! 😊
@theteacherstbr I just finished She Started it and Daisy Darker and LOOOOVED them! Thank you so much for the recommendation video
I loved Daisy Darker!
Sooo good!! 😋
I also love Riley Sager!! He is so good at writing and keep it interesting!! 😀
YES, my favorite of all time! 💛
Murder Road was good, but The Sundown Motel is her best book (in my opinion.)
SUPER creepy! My favorite book.
Oooh, I’ll have to try that one next!!
You mentioned a few already on my list & Hidden Pictures is the book we are reading in October for the book club I'm in. Daisy Darker is the only book on your list that I've read & I did enjoy it...not as much as you but I did like it. I did guess correctly pretty early on the main twist with Daisy but I didn't figure out the second part with the granddaughter. Good book still. :)
Yesss, such a good one! 😊
Wow, I am a first time viewer here and just wanna let you know that your reading taste is very similar to mine and I like that. And yeah waiting for the new Riley Sager's new book review. He is also my favourite author.
Awesome!! He’s the best! 😊
Great list! I agree with most of them! I would add home is where the bodies are by jeneva rose. So good
That one is on my TBR! 😋
I did guess the twist in Daisy Darker, in the first 25 pages. Had to finish reading it to see if I was right.
I absolutely guessed the twist of Daisy Darker.
Great recommendations I had most on my radar or I have read but still found a few 😍 One of my favorite thriller this year was Everyone here is lying by Shari Lapena.
That one is such a good one! I can’t wait for her new release. 😊
I read the ebook for Hidden Pictures and it had the drawings! I was hooked!
YES, the drawings added so much to the story! 🙈
Okay, I think Alice Feeney is a thriller author but I think Daisy Darker is a straight mystery. 😆
The only Riley Sager book I've read is The Only One Left, and I loved it. What is another Riley Sager recommendation?
Lock Every Door is a really good one too! I also loved Home Before Dark if you want something spooky. ☺️
Just wanted to thank you so much for the trigger warnings! I don’t read a lot of thrillers bc I’m easily triggered, but I do love a good fast-paced thrilling read, so it’s hard to know what to pick up 😅
Question: I really liked No Exit (great concept, strong FMC, locked-room mystery), but I found the end to be too gruesome for me. Is The Last Word similar? Any other recs for someone like me who wants something more than a cozy mystery or Agatha Christie? Just steer me clear of the paranormal, graphic SA, and too much gore 🫣
None of This is True is a really good one, it’s more like a rich-people drama and psychological. I will have to think about some more and potentially make a video! ☺️ The Last Word does get pretty gruesome, but it’s more heart-pumping than anything!
@@theteacherstbr Thank you so much for the reply and suggestions! Oooh yes, a recommendation video would be amazing 🤩
I wanna see your favorite romance book and cozy book list
Giirrrrl, but I did guess the Daisy Darker twist. A couple pages in 😂 Well, ONE of the twists. I was kind of joking to myself like oh wouldn’t it be funny if… and then I was right 🙈
WHAT!? 🙈🙈 what is that sorcery? 🤣
Riley sager is my favorite author too have read all of his books
Yay! He’s the best!
Have u read #3 in the housemaids yet?? I preordered it but still haven't gotten a chance to read it..I can't wait though
No! I have been meaning to continue in the series, the first one was absolutely crazy. 🙈
@@theteacherstbr I'm kinda.nee to reading alot but it was the first audiobook I ever listened to and I was hooked but alot.of people actually say it's their actual favorite from all the books from that author
Love the Clinic! 👏
Hannah, have you read The Split by Kit Frick?
I have not! I don’t think I’ve read anything by Kit Frick.
Have you read "Darling Girls" by Sally Hepworth? I think you'll like this one too as we have similar taste 😃
I was going to pick up that one for a friend’s book club, but I just don’t know if I want to read about the child abuse. I do love Sally!
@@theteacherstbrHave you read The Chair? By Adrian McKinty? OMGosh 😮 I kept passing it by bc about children; BUT I am soooo glad I finally read it! You will never forget this one!!!
What are the triggers in she started it? Thanks.
*spoiler for anyone else reading*
Scenes of talking about suicide and self harm
Then She was gone from Lisa Jewel is missing :(
Good expansive list!
Thank you 😊
I read she started it it was very good but dark
It for sure isn’t an easy one!
Nome of this is true , will be my next read !!!
Eeeeep! Such a good one! 😊
I was so disappointed by The Silent Patient anybody else?
Funny cos I’m half way thru it. I still have high hopes but couldn’t stop hearing about it so I had to
I gave it 3⭐️, but I’m discovering some books everyone loves, I just don’t. 🤷♀️
Wow!! I love hidden pictures that is my top thriller right now but I have not read a whole lot of thrillers. The only ones I have read on this list besides that one is the housemaid, The Family Game, and The Last Word. Which I loved them all. I actually have daisy darker on my shelf right now, I checked it out of my library and now it’s immediately gonna be the book I read next! I am so glad you made this list and I can’t wait to read them all cause I just love a good thriller!!🩷🩷🩷🩷
