  • Welcome to the breathtaking Virginia Creeper Trail! If you're an avid cyclist or simply an adventurer at heart, this is a journey you won't want to miss. Join me as I embark on an epic 17-mile downhill bike ride through the stunning landscapes of White Top Mountain to Damascus, Virginia.
One of the most captivating aspects of the Virginia Creeper Trail is its irresistible charm. You'll find it nearly impossible to resist the urge to pause and capture the sheer beauty of the surroundings. From cascading waterfalls to lush forests and awesome bike trails.
The adventure kicks off with perfect weather conditions, making the experience even more enchanting. But be prepared for a twist - Adventure Steve encounters some minor bike trouble with his bike brakes. However, true to his professional biking spirit, he navigates the trail expertly.
The Virginia Creeper Trail typically takes 3 to 5 hours, depending on your pace and how often you stop to take in the mesmerizing scenery. It's a trail that caters to both seasoned cyclists and those opting for the ease of an ebike.
The adventure offers more than just a scenic ride; it's a chance to soak in breathtaking views, including a Christmas tree farm, babbling creeks, and historic spots like the Old Green Cove train station. Plus, meet the trail's furry resident, the Creeper Kitty!
For a mid-trip break, stop at the quaint Green Cove store for some much-needed refreshments. It's a spot with character and a glimpse into local culture.
With each mile, the Virginia Creeper Trail showcases its well-maintained, wide path and the soothing sound of babbling brooks, creating a therapeutic ambiance.
As Adventure Steve and the Adventure Wifey make their way back to Damascus, the trail unfolds its final surprises, including Hellbenders Cafe, a perfect pitstop for cyclists when open.
This journey is an unforgettable experience that belongs on your bucket list. So, whether you're a biking enthusiast or just seeking natural beauty, the Virginia Creeper Trail is calling your name.

Hello old friend. Been quite a while. Beautiful trail and I don't blame you for taking the down hill route. I'll be 63 tomorrow so I'm on the down hill slide myself. A few more years and I can retire and start living the life like my idol Survival Steve. Take care and God bless you guys.

Happy Birthday Patriot. The life I live is not for the faint hearted. Sleeping late, long walks on the beach watching other people fish. Fried seafood. Complaining about tourists. Riding e-bikes 7 miles on the beach and claiming it was a good workout when I'm back home recuperating in my recliner. Unforced naps during Andy Griffith re-runs. Consumption of large amounts of sweet ice tea. Sometimes the Adventure wife doesn't bring me a sammich for 15 minutes or more after my request. Sometimes she even forces me to walk on the beach with her to watch sunsets and makes me hold her hand and take selfies. Yuk! I'm not sure you are prepared to handle retirement like Survival Steve.

@@myadventureoutdoors Agreed. Should have known you make it look easier and more enticing than it really is. No early retirement for this trucker.

    Great scenery 👍
Sounds like the bike rental folks need to do a slight bit of preventative maintenance.

It sucked to lose my brakes. I had a back up plan if needed. I was going to let the Adventure Wife go first and then if I had to make an emergency stop, I'd just crash into her. She wasn't aware of my plan though.
