so true about acceptance.. my dad never calls my on my birthday nor he writes. Or sometimes he writes me a week later. I totally accepted it by the age of 44 :) am happy about this acceptance cos it makes me feel peaceful inside.

I think it's hard to accept the people we love the most is not because it's a lot of work but more because acceptance means our ideal for them has to die! The illusion we have of them behaving the way we want, that has to die! It's a type of grief! People don't want their hope towards their loved one to die, it feels like letting them drown.

So well written, you summed up the feelings so accurately only people who are sensitive and have empathy can say this

Imagine living all your life as graceful as a butterfly and being trampled on. And then! All of a sudden the world around you starts to wake up to everything you've been trying to explain your whole life... I'm Truly loving this newborn consciousness, Well Overdue...

Boundaries are so hard and scary to set if you grew up in a household where you weren't allowed to have boundaries. If you tried you might have gotten yelled at, shamed, or had love withdrawn. It's a skill that needs to be slowly practiced, but it will be scary if you're not used to it.
Closeness and connection is setting boundaries because someone will learn what your personal boundaries are. Without you telling them, they may not know if they've crossed one of your boundaries.

I started to put boundaries whenI realized certain people don't really care about you when they don't need you anymore. This changed the game.
