Hi. Just stumbled on your channel. I'm almost retired from building trade and am converting an ex sainsbury home delivery van to camper. Sprinter 314 cdi 2018 automatic chassis cab with insulated Lawrence David box. Very nice mwb. 68 plate. Sprinters are nice, however watch the adblue for crystals, I add wynnes anticrystal liquid and liquid moly Mos2 oil additive to oil, as its chain driven. Can't wait to see your build. @@Electricparayes I'm converting a sprinter with 136000 miles on it very smooth I add liquid moly Mos2 oil additive as its chain driven. Ultra smooth with that product. 29.6mpg also use shell vpower diesel. What's your van. Best wishes David and Beverley Norfolk
This is such a critical phase of a van acquisition and build. Can you describe how you go about looking at an existing engine which say has 60,000 miles on it and assess the total life duration (300,000 miles and why) and what you look at in terms of the very most miles you would accept (say 100,000) and why? Also would you ever buy a van with the idea that 5 years from now you would do a total engine replacement and why that would make sense? Say a new engine is 10,000 Euros. I am curious how people think about things like this. Thanks.
