    I bought a P3 4 or 5 months ago and I'm very glad I did. Switching to a CF shaft (Revo) was a bit of a change, but it just *feels* great when you make contact with the cue ball.

    Hey, Brian, just wanted to let you know that your honest review had a part in me opting for the P3 Cobalt Racer with Revo 12.4, which I've ordered and am expecting in a couple of days. I had a P2 some 6 years ago and I feel it was one of the best hitting cues I've ever had, so I have high hopes for this P3. Keep up the good work!

    Nice review Brian, thanks for sharing your thoughts. As someone who has been thinking about buying the 'P3' it has been helpful to hear some feedback from an experienced pool player who knows what he is talking about and who has put the product through its paces. I think you have helped me decide which cue I am going to purchase when I upgrade my equipment over the next few months.
    I've noticed that Predator 'Ikon' cues are more expensive than their 'P3' range, but the only real difference (so I'm led to believe) is that the 'P3' is your no nonsense, pure performance cue, whereas the 'Ikon' is basically just a 'blinged up' version of the 'P3'. I have been looking at upgrading my existing mid price range cue to a 'forever cue' and have narrowed down my choice to either a Predator 'P3' or 'Ikon'. I initially had my eyes set on an 'Ikon', but after doing a bit of research and reading/watching various reviews of the two cues, there is little difference between them other than the 'bling' and the not insignificant $300-$500 price difference! 😬. Personally, I am not someone who is overly fussed about bling or fancy wooden inlays, and I am certainly not willing to pay that kinda money for something which is essentially the same as a cue which costs $300-$500 less!. I have been saving up for 8 months, and if I go with the 'P3' I will have the cue and be playing with it before Christmas, whereas, if I hold out for the 'Ikon', I wouldn't have it in my hands until around late February/early March 2023, so all things considered the 'P3' definitely looks like the cue for me! 🙂🎱🎱🎱.

    Thought that was the p3 you were using, funny story, I had a 50.00 cue that I really liked, it was all black( probably metal shaft)any way after 40 or so years of shooting pool I thought I’m gonna treat myself( I’m 74) , I searched the internet, looked at Lucaszi, to fancy, wanted that all black look, found the P3, liked the idea of all the technology involved, ordered one, got the ( revo) 11.? Shaft, I was really impressed with the way it was packaged, they sent it in its own black cloth sleeve, it feels alive in my hand, my favorite cue!!!it is elegant, the silver tiger on the but is beautiful, I also found you on the internet, love the way you go over things, calm voice, it shoots better on the 9’ tables, by the way. Several of the guys have asked about the cue. Have a question, did you keep the “tiger” tip?

    I was using a P3 and switched to a SP2 a few months ago just because one came out with a nice blue color that I liked. And because the P3 I have, although it was blue (cobalt blue racer, something like that it was called) I could only find it without a wrap and I prefer with a wrap. And I have to say, although as a poor amateur player (APA -3 or something 😅) I can’t notice a difference in “how it feels”, there is a BIG audible difference. The SP2 has a high pitch “thump” to it that really bothers me. Initially I thought that maybe I somehow got a cracked shaft (although I don’t think it’s possible with carbon fiber) or that maybe it’s the tip (I have different tips between them), but when I switched the shafts (both Revo, 12.4, one with a kamui clear black medium and one with a Victory Soft), it was still the SP2 that made the noise. So I’ve kept searching for P3s with a wrap and a nice blue color, but they’re extremely rare it seems. I’ve just ended up ordering a nice green P3 just now (called “Predator P3 Nova”. With a wrap, of course. It would have been great if it was with blue instead of the green, but maybe it will grow on me. And got to your video again looking for P3 reviews 😁
    Sadly, I can’t find any direct P3 vs SP2 reviews/comparisons. And also most videos I find are really really old, like 3+ years.
    Anyway, your video gives me more peace of mind now, that I made the right choice in the end, and will stick with the P3. Until a beautiful blue one comes out, but still has to be P3. Will probably sell my old P3 without a wrap, as well as my SP2

      I tried one and immediately got comfortable with it in 5 minutes with the 12.4 Revo shaft. I was shooting more accurately and felt no vibration or buzzing in the butt when making solid shots. That being said, I feel like I was feeling the difference in the shaft more than the actual cue itself, I play with a cheap solid maple shaft that isn't a low deflection shaft and felt like long shots across the table were a lot easier to make with less deflection of the carbon fiber shaft. I'm saving money up for a Revo 12.4 to get a slight performance edge on my game

    • @FXBilliards
      @FXBilliards  2 года назад +3

      I don’t think beginner players will notice the difference but as you get better you can feel the quality in everything that is involved in a cue, from the grip to the tip. it’s like anything else- a soccer mom who drives her kids to school every morning doesn’t appreciate the performance in a BMW M3. But you are right in that I would rather have a cheap but and great shaft than an expensive Cue and a cheap shaft.

    Hey Brian, can you compare Predator grip technologies like C4+, P3 30-piece, and True Splice (or all the Predator grip technologies available)... in terms of playability and feel of the shot? Is there a difference between this technology between Predator stick lines since they don't all have the same price? If the price is under $1500, which cue has the best playing feel (paired with the Revo 12.4)? I don't care too much about the appearance of the cue, I only care about the quality of the shot and the solid, durable feel. Thanks for reading my comment.

    • @FXBilliards

      The Radial might actually be better BUT I own 6 Predator cues and I am not going to use anything that I can not move around from cue to cue. All 6 are Uni-Lock. BTW, I really like Uni-Lock and have been using it for 15 years. And it also fits my "somewhat less expensive" Lucasi cues perfectly. I have 4 of those as well. Zero chance of me going to Radial and giving up all of that versatility.

      Think of the shaft as tires on Porsche. A $100k car with $50 tires runs like a $10k car. The Shaft is the key, but a solid base is going to make the shaft play up to it's full potential. The feedback you get from a shot is often the result of the Cue and not the shaft, so your "feel" for the shot is better with a quality cue. Thanks for watching Dave.

      My ikons were bought over 15 years ago. They cost about three times as much today but they’re also a lot more intricate today and the aesthetics are nicer.

    Is that a new table? Looks bigger and a different color?

      Yes Sharky. Olhausen 9 foot table with 4 1/2" pockets. The cloth is Predator's Arcadia Reserve Tournament Blue Pool Table Cloth. Thanks for watching.

      BEST is a matter of taste. I like Victory Soft and Kamui Black Soft. Those are really the only two I use.

    I 've had the red stripe P3 for about 3 years. Yes, it's the ugliest cue I own, but damn, does it play well.

    I have one. With a super soft tip. Feels really heavy to me without any weight in it. I over hit a lot of shots with it. any suggestions?

    • @FXBilliards
      @FXBilliards  2 года назад

      If the cue feels heavy without any weights in it you’re gonna have a problem because it’s hard to find a cue any lighter than 17oz. Over hitting a ball is not usually a result of cue weight, but of stroke.

      Practice your control more. I was over hitting when my cue was 18oz so I made it 21oz and drilled on control like a mad man and now I’m locked in on the 21oz. SVB plays with a 24oz cue and look at what he can do with it.

      Yes, I have had it for three weeks but my videos are often "stacked up" weeks in advance. That's why you are just seeing it.

      @@FXBilliards That's a sharp looking table for sure! How much did that run you if you don't mind me asking? I have an 8ft Olhausen myself and had the pockets tightened up. It's a great table!

    Why are you talking about your p3 and not your new table?!?!

    • @FXBilliards
      @FXBilliards  2 года назад

      LOL. I have had the new table for three week. I usually will not endorse something until I have at least 100 hours with it. BUT, I love the new table. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments and support of the channel.
