- DWWX 2 (ABS-CBN) Quezon City Philippines received via TEP DX on March 11, 1991 by the late Kazunori Ushigome in Tokyo Japan.
(Copyright 1991 ABS-CBN Corporation). Air Distance: 2,988 km (1,857 miles).
Wow, I Remember when ABS-CBN's Transmission can Reach Guam...
Btw, This one was TWT (The World Tonight), Followed By Options.
It was a sad day, when analogue tv was switched off. Since I was a young kid, both 405 line vhf and 625 line uhf was my main interest in life and I remember the excitement of long distance DX tuning. Only the radio left now but mine will never be digital.
Like you, I always enjoyed analogue TV DX. Analogue TV switched here in Australia in sections from 2010 to the final locations in December 2013. i was hoping that the Ham operators might take over the Band 1 channels with amateur TV analogue broadcasts, but they also changed their TV to digital. I have never been able to really comprehend their change to digital, as most Ham operators enjoy Dxing. hopefully, the analogue radio will continue for many years yet.
Fantastic - a rare motion example od TEP of low VHF TV.

Love that Vangelis tune!
The World Tonight with Loren Legarda and Angelo Castro Jr.
Well spotted. Thanks for the info.
I Have A Question:
While Your Recording Is This VHF Channel Or Digital Terrestrial Channel That DWWX-TV Is Broadcasting These, Is The Are Difference To Thar Channel Is Really Digitally Terrestrial Is About 5KW [From Wikipedia] And VHF Including [ 60 kW (346.2 kW ERP) ] Thanks.
When this channel was received, it was analogue terrestrial only and it was received via DX during high sunspot activity. Current Digital TV broadcasts are far more limited in coverage and would not be able to propagate that distance.
HOW ARE PHILIPPINE TELEVISION CROSSED COUNTRYS LIKE JAPAN??? THIS IS TOO FAR
The long distance reception is caused by atmospheric conditions and only lasts for short periods of time. During high sunspot activity, Philippines TV channels have also been received even from here in Australia.
Wait until you see a video of an Aussie receiving German TV in 1991. Astra 19.2E is below the horizon in Australia.
this is the closing of tv patrol
no. it's the world tonight dude.
But it also uses the same as TV Patrol's... Pulstar by Vangelis.
Who is Ushigome Kazunori ...
And, why the picture has bad quality, and it's flashing?
Kazunori Ushigome was a TV DX enthusiast living in Tokyo Japan. Kazunori passed away some years ago, but prior to that, he sent me recordings of some of his TV DX reception on VHS tape. The reason why the picture is bad quality is because it is TV DX and not local reception. Reception like that completely depends on atmospheric conditions.
@@RGC198 Which Mr. Ushigome has caused?
@@theidentnetworkchannel With TV DX along with radio, it all becomes possible with various weather conditions that are really out of our control. Back when this reception occurred, there was high sunspot activity, which can generate changes in the atmosphere and making it possible to receive distant signals.
@@RGC198 ... and, why he died of Mr. Ushigome?
@@theidentnetworkchannel I think Kazunori died of natural causes as far as I know. I was in contact with him for at least two decades
Awesome analog tv.

But is also uses "Pulstar" by Vangelis theme, the same as TV Patrol, ABS-CBN Corporation's flagship Filipino-language news program.
What happened to that television, is it glitching?
There is no glitch, it is a long distance signal being received via atmospheric conditions. When this occurrs, fading and distortion is included. Also, the signal is only temporary. On top of that, the signal was an NTSC System M transmission received on a PAL TV receiver.
@@RGC198 Most PAL TVs will handle NTSC signals just fine, even if in black and white only.
Yes, that is true. PAL TVs also handle SECAM signals. The main problem with the NTSC signals was the different spacing of picture and audio frequencies to Australian PAL. This problem was handled with a DX Converter, which made it possible to allow both video and audio to be received, despite the different system. Of course, this only works with analogue TV and digital TV is a completely different situation.

0:44 This Sound Is Similiar From The Indonesia Of a 1980 TVRI (TVRI Indonesia) Beginning Of the news Early 1980s Of a "DUNIA DALAM BERITA" Why Does It Similiar the same as TVRI?
Not 100% sure about that, but some TV networks operate under similar owners and then copy each other. Even here in Australia, some of our TV channels have similar theme tunes to TV channels in the USA.
This title tune by Vangelis has been adopted by many TV and radio stations.

That's the song "Pulstar" by Vangelis.

Get a multistandard TV.
Not a bad idea, though not much point now that analogue TV has gone. I do have a multi-standard VCR and even a DVD player.
F2 Propagation???
Actually, the TV DX signal was received via trans equatorial propagation (TEP) by the late Kazunori Ushigome in Tokyo Japan.
@@RGC198 thx...

I started DX om radio in 1963 and on TV in 1971. receiving analogue TV DX back then was absolutely incredible.
Alright, you struggle with ID-ing whatever analog radio station you received from a long distance, while I enjoy the instant ID of a digital DX station.
There's a video of a Japanese guy receving Radio Funklust on 15785 KHz in DRM mode. The TX power is a mere 100 watts. Sounded better than analog could ever dream at those signal levels.
Actually, this may sound a bit strange, but struggling to receive a weak signal is part of the fun of being a DXer. It is all about facing the challenge and receiving instant signals in full clarity and colour may look better, but it is not as compelling to us as a weak signal suddenly appearing out of the noise.
