My X girlfriend got into a BMW m3 first time around the wet skidpad at the BMW factory ( with the traction control on) She drifted the car consistently. I went wide.

Mind I say, the drifts looked like a normal vehicle going through a corner with a bit of oversteer in the end.
Motor trend gave the drift mode a C- and said "terrible", seems about right.

Looks like loads of fun. Pity that due to the enormously wide center stack, there is practically no room up front. Heavens, there is more front and rear legroom in a Honda Jazz. Anyway, your mum was a great sport!

if you want to drift just get a BRZ and add the 10 grand in mods to match the RS's price, and you have a car that will actually teach you how to properly drift.
or just buy an old bmw for 2000 bucks and weld the diff.
of you could buy a veyron, disconnect the front wheel drive, convert it to a 6 speed manual, and drift that

Looks like you did not have the proper drift mode engaged, just selecting drift mode does not deactivate all controls you have to hold down the traction control button for 5 seconds and it will tell you everything has been disabled and proper drifting can commence
