Altair Ibn-La-Ahad mcr aren't really pop punk, they dont really incorporate any pop to their songs, the vamps kept enough of the song and changed enough to make it their own which shows they know what kind of band they are and that they can achieve their own end goal whilst staying true to who they are
ThatBritishFreak i am a massive fan of the vamps, mcr and all time low, i let myself have a broad music taste. This IS punk pop, brads voice here is perfect for it and the guitars support him amazingly! The chorus, where connor is the main vocal is where pop is reintroduced. Bands like blink 182 who where a big influence to the vamps (especially connor) and it really shows, All time low use a quite heavy bass to create the 'pop punk' image you have in your head. In reality both are pop punk. THE VAMPS KILLED IT
Why is everyone so angry in the comments? I grew up with MCR, and get nostalgic just thinking about them. This cover wasn't even that bad, sure, it doesn't have the same power behind it, but they are giving exposure to a great song many fans of The Vamps wouldn't know. Most "new" fans of MCR, Green day, P!atd, FOB and Blink-182 (et cetera) come from people like 5sos and Dan and Phil who have a massive following. At least the bands aren't dying out, all I see in the comments is how (new band) helped discover (classic band). The new era of fangirls have to start somewhere. Okay, let me point out a few things... My Chemical Romance made this song, it is clearly stated in the title of this video that they made the song this cover is simply a cover. MCR are my favourite band. Always have been and mostly likely always will be. I see videos of others covering their songs and it makes me extremely happy, regardless of whether or not I personally think the cover is good or bad. It shows that other people (in this case, a band known worldwide) are greatly inspired and entertained by the work of a band who inspire me and make me happy every day, and it's wonderful to see fans who haven't before heard of MCR discovering a great band through another.

I was listening to covers of My Chemical Romance songs to see how they differed from the original, and whether it was serious or not, I was expressing my opinion on the cover.
I've been loving MCR since I was 13 (and now I'm 22) and I love The Vamps. And I do think the cover is great. Obviously it won't be the same because Brad Simpson is not Gerard Way. I mean, come on! But they did perform amazingly and they had so much fun playing this song and I think that's what important. As for half the audience didn't know the song, won't it because probably the girls are early teen (around 13-15 and maybe a bit older) but the song was famous around 2007, which was like... 7 years ago? They were too young back then to know about MCR (unless of course, those who had early exposure to punk/rock music). Just saying.

I remember attending their concert in the Philippines a few years ago and the literal vibe of the whole concert was SO insane! It was so lively and even back then they know how to perform and deliver a great concert. I also remember losing my voice screaming so much lmao

Alright, I may not be a fan of The Vamps but this isn't bad. I think they did a pretty good job. He may have switched up the words a bit but that's nothing new when it comes to covers. It also doesn't really matter that the song is "out of their genre" because, again, nothing new when it comes to covers (Punk Goes Pop?). It obviously doesn't compare to the original, but it is still awesome that they liked the song enough to perform it live. That's a pretty big compliment considering they have a growing fan base, in my opinion.

Altair Ibn-La-Ahad mcr aren't really pop punk, they dont really incorporate any pop to their songs, the vamps kept enough of the song and changed enough to make it their own which shows they know what kind of band they are and that they can achieve their own end goal whilst staying true to who they are
This isn't pop punk. Pop punk is ATL, not this. This is a pop band trying to cover a punk song, and not having the right qualities to make it work
ThatBritishFreak i am a massive fan of the vamps, mcr and all time low, i let myself have a broad music taste. This IS punk pop, brads voice here is perfect for it and the guitars support him amazingly! The chorus, where connor is the main vocal is where pop is reintroduced. Bands like blink 182 who where a big influence to the vamps (especially connor) and it really shows, All time low use a quite heavy bass to create the 'pop punk' image you have in your head. In reality both are pop punk. THE VAMPS KILLED IT

Why is everyone so angry in the comments? I grew up with MCR, and get nostalgic just thinking about them. This cover wasn't even that bad, sure, it doesn't have the same power behind it, but they are giving exposure to a great song many fans of The Vamps wouldn't know. Most "new" fans of MCR, Green day, P!atd, FOB and Blink-182 (et cetera) come from people like 5sos and Dan and Phil who have a massive following. At least the bands aren't dying out, all I see in the comments is how (new band) helped discover (classic band). The new era of fangirls have to start somewhere.

OMG I was obsessed with The Vamps when I was younger. Now My Chemical Romance is my favorite band ever and they mean soooo much to me. It's so cool to see something from when I was younger mixed with my present. I should really start listening to The Vamps again.

Okay, let me point out a few things...
My Chemical Romance made this song, it is clearly stated in the title of this video that they made the song this cover is simply a cover. The Vamps covered this because it is a good song, in a matter of personal opinion. Granted, half of the fans there probably didn't/don't know who My Chemical Romance are/were (sorry ;~;) but they enjoyed it, clearly. Also, for those of you saying "they got the words wrong" are you serious? They don't swear live so they had to miss out that word and Brad has an accent which sometimes makes it hard for the words in songs to be clear.
And before you reply to this saying that I'm just defending The Vamps, don't. I love My Chemical Romance just as much as The Vamps.

MCR are my favourite band. Always have been and mostly likely always will be. I see videos of others covering their songs and it makes me extremely happy, regardless of whether or not I personally think the cover is good or bad. It shows that other people (in this case, a band known worldwide) are greatly inspired and entertained by the work of a band who inspire me and make me happy every day, and it's wonderful to see fans who haven't before heard of MCR discovering a great band through another.

I like any music, except country, polka, and some old time music; but I don't talk crap and hate on them, I just listen to what I like. And they covered the song, they didn't steal it. I've been loving MCR since I was 13 (and now I'm 22) and I love The Vamps. And I do think the cover is great. Obviously it won't be the same because Brad Simpson is not Gerard Way. I mean, come on! But they did perform amazingly and they had so much fun playing this song and I think that's what important.
As for half the audience didn't know the song, won't it because probably the girls are early teen (around 13-15 and maybe a bit older) but the song was famous around 2007, which was like... 7 years ago? They were too young back then to know about MCR (unless of course, those who had early exposure to punk/rock music).

I was at the concert and they gave credit to the band after the actual song before they did one of their songs. Just because they didn't put that part into this video doesn't mean they didn't give any credit to the band.

Alright, I may not be a fan of The Vamps but this isn't bad. I think they did a pretty good job. He may have switched up the words a bit but that's nothing new when it comes to covers. It also doesn't really matter that the song is "out of their genre" because, again, nothing new when it comes to covers (Punk Goes Pop?). It obviously doesn't compare to the original, but it is still awesome that they liked the song enough to perform it live. That's a pretty big compliment considering they have a growing fan base, in my opinion.
MCR was one of my favorite bands, and I LOVE the Vamps. They did an awesome job, this is SO GOOD.

I'm binging again on MCR and today, I'm checking out covers. I personally believe that MCR songs are really hard to make a cover. I think, one should have a sh*t load of genuine emotion to at least make a decent pull off. But this was ok.
