- Video surfaced last night of UFC fighter Mike Perry punching a man at a Texas restaurant Tuesday night. After punching the man, Perry could be heard using the n-word several times. It should be noted that the man he punched and the surrounding crowd appeared to be Caucasian. After the incident, Perry simply tweeted quote, “no comment”. This is what the SYG states "Texas is one of a number of states that enforces a stand your ground law. This law essentially allows someone to defend themselves if they feel their life is in danger." Let me be clear, I don't think ANY UFC fighter should punch ANY civilian unless they absolutely have to, but if someone pushes you in Texas and you feel your life is in jeopardy, yes you can shoot, or punch them. In this case, he didnt shoot the guy he punched him with what could be described as a deadly weapon so he will probably be made to apologize, maybe do some community service, but I am with Jerome here. To me, it appeared the old man was trying to be a damn hero and he go caught with a right hook. These kinda things have happened forever. A man getting punched in the face in Texas isnt something new, everyone in the world having a camera and social media is.
