Right I was rewatching game of thrones and I was like this is her death like fricking pebbles like come on most people got more brutal deaths who were decent compared to her haha
This film SLAYED and ATE. I don’t care what anyone says, I loved it. Dragons are my favorite mythical creature and the Dragon in this film was such a fierce character. A scorned, grieving mother. I’m glad she got her revenge. Also those little silk worms are so cute lol
This was a solid movie. The twist at the beginning was unexpected ngl. Unexpected and fked up ngl like damn he really yeeted her off that ledge. I liked the ending and though I had my apprehensions about this being the new typical "strong woman can't be stopped by anyone cause she's a girl boss" troupe I quickly realized that this was actually a "she's a strong girl who got fooled by a cute guy because everyone wants to be loved right? but she lost and she got her ass kicked but she toughened up and survived" . This was a fun watch. Also the dragon being stubborn as hell till the very end was perfect 😂.
@@lilscenechick1995people automatically assume the “not like other girls” trope is the “girl boss” trope, which was later proven that she is like other girls for always finding a name in a spot she managed to escape to, and knowing she wasn’t the only one fought to get out
Yes! This movie couldn't be more sisterhood coded. The dragon wins (a grieving mother), Elodie and Floria make it out with a new friend, the final princess gets saved by Elodie's warning, and stepmother lives and gets promoted to Queen Mother
I actually liked this way more than I thought I would the writing was a little shaky at time but, they made up for it with the plot and backstory. The dragon weirdly was my favorite “character” Driven by revenge and grief over losing her daughters AND being the last of her line 🥺, the fact she kept her deceased babies all that time, and I thought it was cool her fire was more like lava. Stepmother went to mother real quick 😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
In all I thought this movie was ok. I'll just copy and past my opinion from a review I saw. "I low-key feel like the stepmom had more character development. She went from being all proper, in awe of the royal family and the girls calling her "Exhausting" to knowing something was wrong, wanting to get tf out of there, and Elodie calling her "Mother" at the end. But it could've just been Angela Basset being her brilliant self 😂. And it helps that stepmothers have a trope of being evil, so having her be a good person gave her a leg up."
A mother following her instinct is what you call character development? Are we going to dismiss the damsel willing to give up her happiness for her people, to others deciding to selfishly give up her life to save their own hydes with deception, but she decides to live and figure out how to be self sufficient instead of having someone 'save' her go out the window because it wasn't done in dialogue? Both the dragon and Elodie were fooled by royals who wanted to save themselves, yet they overcame it, and bonded together. These 2 women pitted against each other became friends. I'd say this movie proves something most don't: Actions speak louder than words
I was hooked from the very first trailer that came out for this movie. I was so shocked to see that it was a Netflix movie because even from the trailers alone, it looked like something that should be watched in theatres. This movie did not disappoint!
@@vehzee And the people who say that the most didn't predict anything. I highly doubt you watched her meet the dragon in the cave and thought - yeah, by the end of this they're going to be best buds - OBVIOUSLY
To be honest, Elodie was giving me more Daenerys than Sansa. Sansa wanted to be queen and she was a fearful little girl in season 1. Daenerys was prepared to marry a stranger for the greater good like she was prepared to marry Hizdhar in Meereen. Elodie was prepared to marry Henry for the good of her people. Then at the end, you have Elodie using the dragon to burn down the castle like Daenerys used Drogon to take King's Landing. Elodie becomes friends with the dragon and Daenerys is, of course, the Mother of Dragons
This reminded me of Hulu's movie with Joey King - The Princess. They had my girl Shohreh Aghdashloo voicing the dragon. I turned into that Leonardo Dicaprio meme where he's pointing at the TV lol
Omg me tooo I had to go on a full tangent about her to my friend when we watched it. She deserves more main villian roles, she has a voice built to shake you to your core.
Glad you liked this movie. It is full of story and character and just straight adventure. And 'Elodie Targaryan,' sounds just perfect. This is the GoT ending I needed.
With Megaras words: "I'm a damsel - I'm in distress - I can handle it myself. Thanky you" This movie is just great and I hope there will be a second one! Love the simplicity and the badass character of Elodie (btw a wonderful name, and Floria as well!). And the effects and the dragon are just fire
Honestly, I expected to hate this movie and I was so not ready for how much I'd love it. It's not some groundbreaking script or storyline but it was captivating. Millie is built for horror/thrillers.
14:47: "The Scent of Royalty betrays you" but not the obvious fact that she looks nothing like the royal family! And in regards to the other girls, they were all different races!?!? So how did the dragon not tell the black and Asian girls were obviously not the Kings Descendants???? Like the dragon has two working eyes before Ellie stabs her! 🙄 Anyways, despite that weirdness, I enjoyed Millie Bobbie Brown and Angela Basset's performances! They did so well with their characters!

I don't doubt the prince really did fall for Elodie....such a pity he was too much of a coward to warn her and her family before the ceremony....or to go against his mother.....too self-centred to try......the best thing about him is that he accepted his fate without trying to run from it.... Do you think he knows the truth? Or has the family been lying to themselves for years as well as to the rest of the world?

Always! Angela Basset knows what she’s talking about!
I know that’s right. Angela been right since Waiting To Exhale when she blew up that man car 🤣

He literally knew abt the whole deal and was screaming and grabbing his wife over it when she expressed her concern 😭 good riddance !
He definitely knew after the Queen talked to him. I don't call him a true coward, as he knew his fate, but he still went back for his daughter.
@@playfulpanthressna he’s still a coward he sacrificed and sold his child for gold 😂 and then she still saved HERSELF
