Bro you got the Silver Sport fixins that they do with all the Transmissions. You forgot to mention that you have Silver Sports own STX shifter tuned for the TKX that nobody else has.
I just put a TKX in my Notch, but having a hard time finding a shifter handle, even the complete shifter, called LMR they don’t know they said call Tremec guy said he’ll have to do homework he doesn’t know, to me it looks just like TKO it has 6 bolts to attach it so the Tri-Ax works on the TKO so I called Steeda a guy named Phil he asked if I could measure the shifter holes on the Tremec shifter so I did and sent it to him 2 days ago no answer will call again tomorrow, so I said Fuck it and just got the Tri-Ax handle and now the Tremec bolts are to big I’m just going to drill the handle holes out to take the Tremec bolts, also I read an American power train article TKO vs. TKX and there it said the TKX comes with a short throw shifter, so making the Tri-Ax handle work is fine I guess. Almost 3K for this and no one knows shit about a shifter SO WITH ALL THAT SAID WHAT DID YOU INSTALL THANKS!
Thanks for the review. I Just ordered my 10 spline TKX currently have a leaky 3550 with wierd tailshaft vibration. Since my 3550 is a 10 spline input shaft, Everything will bolt right in. Cant wait for butter smooth shifts
I have a king cobra in mine and you're right, for an extremely mild clutch it's very heavy, after driving for a while it gets old. I think you just sold me on this silver sport, I'd love to see one running on a T-5 and hear how smooth the pedal is. Hopefully the more miles you put on the TKX setup and it breaks in it'll start driving even better!
My new Valeo King Cobra is a little harder than stock, but not much. Lots of city driving might be tougher, but Im not into that. I also do a lot of 1-3-5 shifts, somestimes 2-4-5. (3.35 first and 3.55) Starting in 2 is fine.
I , like you , have ran many transmission and they all have their good points and bad points. I favored the King Cobra clutch as well and they do fine for street/ strip applications up to 450 to 5ish hp. It looks precise and positive shifting and Papa T definitely knows a winner !!
Just put the same clutch in my 88 with billet flywheel. It has about 90 miles of windy backroad up and down shifts to break it in. So far I'm lovin it! Just can't get adjusted quite right yet its catching high no matter what I do with the firewall adjuster.
Great video. I just picked one up yesterday from my local speed shop. Dropped the Richmond Super T-10 out of my 1970 SS El Camino and today I’ll be installing the TKX. It looks like I might not even have to have the drive shaft shortened. But we’ll see! Glad to know it’s a quite tranny too. My Richmond was so damn loud. But it had straight cut gears so that was expected
Yea my 26 spline original tko is the same way , i hate the sloppy back and forth, tko is the Griselda Blanco of all trans lol love the videos man ! Don't apologize about saying things over ! You spend a lot lot lot of time doing this for us ! Only time I pause a Brew20 video is if Seinfeld comes on , make no mistake about it after that it's all brew20
Man I can't wait to get to really working on my Foxbody one day. Before it was I had the time but no money. Now I got a job with the railroad and it'll be I have the money but don't have the time. I want to convert mine to a manual transmission and take out the AOD it has currently. But the way you did this video makes me wanna get to work on mine. Unfortunately it's parked for the next 6 month with insurance and winter coming up. and the battery just completely went out on it, and has a leaking gas tank. All problems to look forward to next spring!
I'm hoping my TKO600 rebuilt by Hanlon will be nice. Rebuilt almost 2 years ago when the car went down. Then I went down the Rabbit hole and hoping to be on the road by spring. I hope I like the TKO. My first fox without a T5...
The Calypso Clone is going to be one bad Mamma Jamma when you get it all dialed in. That clutch and tranny is one wicked combo. Thanks for another inspiring video. Fox bodies rule!
What’s up bro nice video I’m in the market to upgrade my t5 , I have a 331 stroker .my question is would you go with a TKX or pay the extra money and go t56 magnum is the extra money worth it ? I will also be putting on a vortech supercharger on it soon any advice would be much appreciated.. Thanks for the content 👌🏼
Great video man - is that with the stock shifter from Tremec that came with the TKX? Or, is that an aftermarket short-throw shifter? Nevermind - saw your first video and saw that it is SST's shifter - excellent work!
I wonder if I could put this in my 1981 Mercedes Benz W123 Body style 240d engine. It has a 4 speed transmission and a 5 speed would make a big difference I also have a 1964 Ford f250 with a 4 speed transmission and again what a difference this would make.
You stated in the video that you would put up everything that you purchased from SST... did you put that out. I don't have a foxbody but doing it for a chevelle and I want to do an easy install without cutting the tunnel. I realize TKX has different versions for GM but wondering what the cost would be. I know different factors and i want the Hydraulic clutch
Great review and Im excited for my new T-5 to take a shit. However, I only run lightweight flywheels. I understand ur motor is balanced. But the RPM build and torque curve with a lightweight flywheel is a great performance part for the money.
How? Any closer and you’d have no way to stretch out each gear. Change out the rear gear if they are too long. In each gear. For a turbo car like the Calypso, a 3.27 rear gear with that longer first would be perfect to load up the turbo and spool off of first, and pull hard with longer gears in the rear. since it’s making torque down low and never “falling on its face” since airs being shoved into the cylinders. There’s a close ratio gear set which offers a . 0.80 5th gear spaced to act like more continuance vs strictly Overdrive cruise and gas saving gear.
Between your channel and neomustangs , I'm definitely going with tkx as my trans . Thanks for everything you 2 do.
Papa-T got me all pumped up, you could tell he was impressed for sure. Looks very promising in my opinion!🔥💣💥
Some launches with drag radials at the track is the truetest on how good the setup really is.
Bro you got the Silver Sport fixins that they do with all the Transmissions. You forgot to mention that you have Silver Sports own STX shifter tuned for the TKX that nobody else has.

I love Papa T’s reactions, you need to get him more on these rides. That is me!
Love hearing that turbo spool up!
That car sounds really happy.
I love how the trans pops into gear almost by itself
I have a king cobra in mine and you're right, for an extremely mild clutch it's very heavy, after driving for a while it gets old. Starting in 2 is fine.
The shifts looked smooth and the throw looks really short. Makes me envious! 😂
Envy is the emotion of a small minded insecure person.
I’m a little late on this vid but I just got the TKX for my fox, a little nervous about it, I’m sure I’ll love it, thanks for the video!

Good to know. Read too many negatives about it on some sites. Always liked Tremec, well built transmissions
Wow that is the real deal package, the short throws looks so smooth, that setup is so impressive, damn
I am jealous.
Have one in my 92 turbo shifts great. also got mine at silver sport transmission. Jeff was very helpful!

You up late ain’t ya
Nice video, what level do you think the clutch is? (comparing to something like spec clutches)
Awesome Video Man!!
That transmission shifts so smoothly!!

ALL FOXES NEED THIS TKX UPGRADE THANKS FOR AWESOME REVIEW
I have a T56 from silver sport with their shifter that I absolutely love!
Yea my 26 spline original tko is the same way , i hate the sloppy back and forth, tko is the Griselda Blanco of all trans lol love the videos man ! Don't apologize about saying things over ! If Papa T likes It, I like it! Seriously though I'm impressed . It seems to shift smooth.

Just bought a used one rebuilt from a race car. Cant wait to slap it on in April.
Appreciate all the vid you do!!! Thanks a lot!
That looks insanely fun, love it, hopefully I can get a ride next year at FTO ? Lol great video man
You got me sooo excited to get mine installed!!!
Tkx is going on my Christmas list. Lol. Great review
Thanks brew2L!
Another awesome video brother love the detail you throw into your videos to help really get the point across!! Keep doing you brother
I think its papa t approved👍🏼 Love the car!!
Gotta get me one of them Bases. Good to see you banging gears
Yup his Silver Sport STX shifter helps alot with the TKX
Keep up the great content
Now I c y there's black Mark's in my part of Mexico lol. Looks really smooth.
After melting my T5 I'm actively looking at the TKX myself so this is perfect.
I'm hoping my TKO600 rebuilt by Hanlon will be nice. Rebuilt almost 2 years ago when the car went down. Then I went down the Rabbit hole and hoping to be on the road by spring. I hope I like the TKO. My first fox without a T5...
Great review I need one of those t-shirts
The Calypso Clone is going to be one bad Mamma Jamma when you get it all dialed in. That clutch and tranny is one wicked combo. Thanks for another inspiring video. Fox bodies rule!
Love the Only Ford shirt dude. Got a similar one myself
Dude try a set of E3 spark plugs don't think they will foul out as fast for you .They made a big difference in my 89
Time to order a TKX !
Awesome first drive! Something to look into for a swap. I'll spend the money for the whole lot. Break that joker in?
That looked smooth af! Curious, do you setup your clutches to grab off the floor or at the top?
What’s up bro nice video I’m in the market to upgrade my t5 , I have a 331 stroker .my question is would you go with a TKX or pay the extra money and go t56 magnum is the extra money worth it ? I will also be putting on a vortech supercharger on it soon any advice would be much appreciated..

Sounds like it’ shifts like a TR6060( magnum). I’m excited for you nak ! I always say, I should of went magnum years ago 👍👍
Great video man - is that with the stock shifter from Tremec that came with the TKX? Or, is that an aftermarket short-throw shifter?
Nevermind - saw your first video and saw that it is SST's shifter - excellent work!
Sir now you got me try to get money to get that set up. Thank you
Looool
Looks like a win. 👌
So your saying swapping my notchy TKO 600 put for a TKX would be a good idea? 🤔
Mine's coming tomorrow!!
I wonder if I could put this in my 1981 Mercedes Benz W123 Body style 240d engine. It has a 4 speed transmission and a 5 speed would make a big difference I also have a 1964 Ford f250 with a 4 speed transmission and again what a difference this would make.
How's it compare to the old tko
Hell Yeah!!!
After install did it seem off center my driveshaft is closer to the pass side tunnel then the center?
Looks like its going to be an awesome trans. If I didn't already have a t56, this would probably be my choice.
What’s the cost compared to a tkx and a t56
@@stevenmcc2119 I couldn't say. I got a screaming deal on a t56 put of an 04 Cobra and it came with a quicktime bellhousing
Tempted to get rid of my 6r80 set up for a tkx. Hopefully it can handle a twin turbo 351 lol
Which TKX you bought, the wide gear ratio or the close?
can u please shift the car at 8k rpms ??? my t56 hits a wall going into 3rd ( no grinding) just dos not go in until rpms drop to 6k :(
Where the hell did you get the shirt from, I want one of those
You stated in the video that you would put up everything that you purchased from SST... did you put that out. I don't have a foxbody but doing it for a chevelle and I want to do an easy install without cutting the tunnel. I realize TKX has different versions for GM but wondering what the cost would be. I want that shirt!
Nice! How does it compare to the TKO600?
Did you have any issues with the other transmissions ? Or just wanted to simply upgrade and keep up with the power you have been working for ?
What’s better then a t5 but budget friendly to about $1200
You mentioned you'd post a parts swap list? I don't see it in the description or a link, anyway I am really interested in swapping from my T5
Nice video .What do you think of it now that you have had it a while ?
Im gunna need that shirt
Where can I get a t shirt bud? Man I dig that!
Did you install the close or wide ratio ratio Transmission
Are you going to be at foxtoberfest?
how would you compare it to a t5?
How much power does the trx suppose to hold?
Give it some time it will break in and get smoother
That thumbnail 😂😂
Great review and Im excited for my new T-5 to take a shit. However, I only run lightweight flywheels. I understand ur motor is balanced. But the RPM build and torque curve with a lightweight flywheel is a great performance part for the money.
20+ yrs ago I had a race machine shop.
Every HO I refreshed was perfect balanced from the factory. I mean zero perfect, not just close.
So what was the clutch setup that you purchased with the TKX? I dont see it listed anywhere?
I’ve been thinking about getting a TKX for my 69 Charger. I really like what I’ve seen so far,
Craig I don’t remember so I’ll ask, what gear did you end up with in the clone?
3.31
I have a 3550 tko if I get the tkx will it bolt right up?
If your 3550 is 10 spline . You should buy the 10 spline TKX. It will bolt right in to the same bellhousing
Does the shifter have bump stops on it? That seems like a must have in any shifter to prevent damage
Stops are built in the transmission
really ?
no shifter stops.?
What rear end gear are you running?
Where do we get that shirt 🔥
😎🔔 Get it broken in and use Mobil 1.... I'll bet it gets even better.👍👍😎
What size is your garage if u don't my asking
30x30
What shifter did you end up putting on it?
Brew2l's TKX came with Silver Sports STX shifter tuned for the TKX
Thanks William👌
Darn! The Calipso can only do 85.
Outfuckingstanding 🇺🇲
Badass!!! Jealous!
Neo said his first to second was notchy🤔
Brew2l has Silver Sports STX after market shifter on it is why it's not notchy
Neo also said it could need a clutch adjustment
Uno!
It’s too bad the ratios are spread out so far.
