I aimed to highlight the fighters who have stood out to me in the lead-up to the Games. It was quite challenging to narrow down the selection to 15, as I intended to represent all weight divisions. I understand that my choices may not align with everyone's preferences. Nonetheless, here are the honorable mentions that I would like to acknowledge and should also keep eye on: Super Heavyweight (92Kg +) Joshua Edwards 🇺🇸 Teremoana Jr 🇦🇺 Heavyweight (92Kg) Aibek Oralbay 🇰🇿 Loren Alfonso 🇦🇿 Keno Machado 🇧🇷 Light Heavyweight (80kg) Eumir Marcial 🇵🇭 Nurbek Oralbay 🇰🇿 Tanglatihan 🇨🇳 Light Middleweight (71 KG) Aidan Walsh 🇮🇪 Lewis Richardson 🇬🇧 Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev 🇺🇿 Light Welterweight (63.5Kg) Erislandy Alvarez 🇨🇺 Ruslan Abdullaev 🇺🇿 Harry Garside 🇦🇺 Lasha Guruli 🇬🇪 Featherweight (57Kg) Carlo Paalam 🇵🇭 Jaiver Ibanes 🇧🇬 Saidel Horta 🇨🇺 Flyweight (51KG) Billal Bennama 🇫🇷 Partick Chinyemba 🇿🇲 Amir Panghal 🇮🇳
Another boxer who did well in amateur career was Golovkin from Kazakhstan who took silver at the 2004 Summer Olympics and gold in the middleweight division at the 2003 World Championships.
My countryman, Eumir Marcial, is a bronze olympic medalist of the middleweight division in 2020 and will fight in light heavyweight this year. Seeing how there's strong competition in that weight division, I only wish him goodluck and bring home the gold 🥇
I got the chance to fight Jahmal Harvey in a local bout back in may and i truly think he’ll win gold (might be a lil biased) but he was the smartest man ive ever been in the ring with he had an answer for everything i did it felt like he was five steps ahead at all times
Can you do a video on how Kid Gavilan trained? He's one of the best welterweights whoever laced up a pair of gloves. I have him in my top 5 welterweights list.
I'm rooting for our countrymen Carlo Paalam and Eumir Marcial to finally win us a gold medal in boxing. I think Paalam vs Aider Abduraimov will be interesting.
Thanks. Appreciate it jamie. Tbh id have no idea who to be sure to check out except for a couple of medalists and like jololov. Im sure ill find this helpful.

Omfg Jalololv is back again?!! I was wondering why I hadn’t seen him fight in awhile. He’s going to clean up; even if the comp is better, he’s gotten better

It sucks that Arlen & Khyzhniak have to face off, I want both of them to win. I had Harvey ending the gold drought for USA until I found out he has to beat Khalokov.

What I don't get and maybe someone could explain it to me is how pro boxers like Mayweather didn't take gold but do do really well outside of the Olympics or vice versa?
Amateur boxing consists of three rounds and is usually fought at a much higher pace, prioritizing speed over power. In contrast, professional boxing has more rounds and is fought at a slower pace. The scoring systems differ as well, with amateur boxing focusing on the number of clean punches landed. While professional boxing is considered more about getting the knockout while judging can be more subjective with factors like aggression and ring control being more considered. In my opinion, amateur boxing often favors more aggressive, Eastern styles compared to the counter-punching styles commonly seen in American boxing. However, this isn’t always the case. E.g. Some Cubans you get very good defensive amateurs who win fights from defense and counter punching alone.
And doesn’t you think that JAMAL HARVEY LOOK JUST LIKE MAUCUS SMART because I think that he really does almost guarantee that they are related or something like that seriously though
