One of the best Stream Deck overviews I’ve seen. Got mine about 6 months ago. I would have bought mine a lot sooner had I seen your overview. I mostly use for live streaming on my church’s podcast but these use cases are great! I also edit in Final Cut and had never heard of speed ramping. I learned a lot from this video. Thanks!
Oh that's an awesome approach, Richard. I just got the 32-key version, and I'll definitely be using it for FC Pro editing. Thanks so much for sharing this. I appreciate it!
Amazing overview! Your intro resonates exactly with my situation (selftaught, Google problems, etc). I have the Stream Deck coming today, so this is the perfect preparation. Thanks! 👏
Bought one to test. It slows me down for anything other than effects like warp stabilizer using Premiere Pro. But you can't keyboard shortcut effects on Premiere, so I have to use Keyboard Maestro to script it to search the screen for the effect but it doesn't always work. Probably will return this.
I just got my stream deck, mostly for streaming on twitch. Been thinking how to implement this with work too (mind is internally blowing up) Great video for editing tips
Good stuff Richard. I caught your Onewheel video after I had purchased mine a couple weeks before. Will hit 100 miles tomorrow! Lol I have the 6 button deck and my son has the 15. The 6 is enough for me and the price was right but I would have totally liked the larger version simply for the real estate on it like you said and I think it had built in games too.. Looking forward to your next video!
Maybe I will get that stream deck with the information that I have been giving to me from this video right now🤔. Because I always see it and I can never decide if I really need it, but now I kinda need it.
hi! a new sub here. can u tell us about your VR setup in the background. btw i discovered you from your onewheel vid. Im going to college soon and im looking into buying one. its just so damn expensive
Thanks for the sub! The headset is an oculus quest 1 modded with a Deluxe Audio Strap made for the HTC Vive. If you look up "frankenquest", you'll find more info on it. Good luck on the OneWheel purchase!
Thanks so much for this video, I was looking at the Loupedeck Live, but no one else used the El Gato for video editing....that is until I saw your video. This is exactly what I need and will be great when I love to streaming. Thanks for the great review!
@richardkohberger : Not sure if tagging this way works 😅 but I'm a heave premiere pro user and use all microsoft apps including macros in excel. I'm yet to be sold on the elgato series, especially the elgato Stream deck+ with those knobs. Is the stream deck basically like one of those Premier Pro editing Keyboards with keycaps that show what key is what function but on steroids? If yes, I'm gonna buy it.
I would say it's more comparable to a macro keypad than a gaming mouse. The benefit the stream deck has is the dynamic screens behind the buttons. I don't have to remember which key is which like I would with a regular macro pad.

Your stream deck always brings the fun!!!

Nice video! I like your crazy horn sound effect for Zoom calls…. I think I might need that….
This dude needs more subs. I love the b-roll and humor. Also, this video sold me on getting a streamdeck!

Best description of what it can be used for and how. Thanks
Great video. For all those thinking about which to get, trust me, you'll never regret getting the 32 key stream deck over the 15.
Hi I love this video so much I am thinking of buying an Elgato stream deck myself are they good to have?
Great vid, where do you find your icons for the keys?

Great job...I just got the same in the mail...can't wait...yes dear it's time for you to upgrade
Nice high quality videos and reviews. Well done. Subscribed. Hope you make it big.
Great Video! I would love you see how you use the Stream Deck with Photoshop.

Thanks! Congrats on the Onewheel milestone! 🤙🏼
Do you have specific instructions on how to set this up like yours? Don’t have a ton of time but I do have a stream deck. ☺️ Thank you in advance
This is really good content in general. Good work on the channel! Subbed
Thanks!
Thanks for putting this together 👍🏻
Great video packed full of useful content. Thank you !
thanks for this! great video!
Well done! I'm subscribed!
great video. Very helpful :)
is it possible to select something on the timeline vs clicking on the mouse?
Yeah, when you trim, just use the range tool, and backspace. Or blade & alt+[ or alt+], no need for streamdeck for that function.
using it on streamdeck is much more efficient. Your fingers gona be all bent up and crooked from pushing all those buttons on the keyboard. lol
Is this device compatible with Avid Media Composer , Premiere and Resolve ? If yes, I am definitely getting one.

Supercool, thanks.
Do you know what to use to be able to pick a sound effect and PASTE it into the video?

How long did it take you to set this up??
ehhh like a scattered day to get it to a pretty good place but I continue to tinker with it here and there
Could you compare this devices performance to that of a programmable game mouse of the same functionality? I feel this is definitely cooler lol

I have 2 of these :D
