@@imalwaysright If you had been watching the show everyone in media was skeptical of her call. How many times did the boys disagree and repeat the Hawthorne line that "he's contracted to 2022"? Every single week.
@@Nick-hx1uz Even so, what she reported was not the story surrounding his exit. A lot went on between her report and the circumstances surrounding his departure. Like she often says, they may have been “right at the time” that he was staying 2022, but then the situation changed. She always uses the “it was right at the time” excuse

The only thing Caro knows better than me and most is how to savage and harass a story until she gets the level of stress and public opinion to the level that gets her to her goal. Didn’t you watch the irresponsible and to be honest, disgusting way she attacked the Essendon players and staff without actually having a shred of proof. It might have worked out the way she wanted but again, no proof, if she’d had the proof in that instance it wouldn’t have gone on for 4 years would it? The story ended up the way you predict might mean you were right, doesn’t mean you actually knew anything.

As a forth generation Hawthorn fan, i'm disapointed with how the club has gone about this. With all the time that Clarko has put into the club, he deserved to choose if and when he wanted to move on.

@@cbinsyd he left more than a week later, and there was a seperate meeting involved in his departure. Not the one Caro reported. There was no mention of the meeting she reported on when they reported his departure.

Not a hawks fan - have always thought Kennett was jealous of Clarkson. Tried to get rid of him numerous times through public questioning of his ability and even when Hawthorn won premierships JK was faint with his praise of AC. How many AFL games did you play and coach Kennett? Zero, and that describes your football knowledge. Look out Sam when the mancrush wanes.
Caro played her cards really well. She was never nasty or controversial. She just reported what her fleet of little birdies were whispering in her ear.. And she was right all along.. We'll done Caro

I think Hutchy hit the nail on the head. He wanted to be paid in some way shape or form and if that meant staying then he would have stayed knowing its not the best thing for the club.

Maybe Kane has got the role of devil's advocate because his summation of Clarkson was evidence free. The players interjected because they NOW had two contradicting coaches when the handover was for 2023. The whole thing was a sham. Clarkson would have been coach in name only for 2022. As that is breach of contract he was well within his rights to call it now. Hawthorn mediation sessions to try and talk away a contract is a waste of time unless they could give Clarkson something he wanted outside the contract t&cs.
All this should have happened before going public.
so, she flings enough mud and gets one right - who could forget when she went with hird sacking, and was plain wrong - her response? "i was right at the time" say what? so he was sacked on that day then came back and got the job again in the subsequent 3 days. ok
I dont go for Hawthorn but Clarkson is definetly the best coach of the modern era and he deserved better than a public humilation so he should get paid out Kane Cornes is such a tool

Caro spot on. Cornes clueless. It's pretty obvious Sam Mitchell didn t want to be taking over in 2023 especially if Hawthorn had a really good season in 2022 under Clarkson which they very well could and probably will under either coach.

We knew Mitch was going to be coach 2 years ago.
We all operated under the assumption he would be given time and the club would do the right thing by the best coach we (and possibly other teams) have ever seen.
But instead Jeff has to make it all about himself.
This has all the markings of a decades-long curse on our club aka Melbourne and norm smith.
Wilson was 100% correct.

McClure's intel on the Collingwood coach is guess work only. Of the two coaches he named, Harvey is a better option. Got the side playing well as a group. Been there a while. Give him a chance. The Adel former coach was sack cos of a rebuild. Why would he be given the Collingwood job in their current rebuild. McClure has no clue.
Collingwood shouldn't be too hasty to give the senior coaching job to Robert Harvey just because they've played a really good game or two. Look what happened when North Melbourne did this with Rhyce Shaw. And Carlton with David Teague. These coaches should have only ever been there as caretaker coaches. They shouldn't have been given the coaching job full time simply on the basis of improvement in their club's form during the second half of the season when they took over. Robert Harvey is no different.

I didn’t watch this video. Only came here to say Caro is the pure reason I don’t watch footy classified and there are multiple others like me. If the show had any brains they would replace her. Preferably not with Damian barrett. Or kane corns. Anyone but thoes 2 and you can’t loose.

Jeff Kennett and an extremely arrogant Sam Mitchell are going to put this club so far back.
It's definitely on the cards. Coaches who have replaced coaching legends in the past (ie Matthew Knights replacing Kevin Sheedy at Essendon, Michael Voss replacing Leigh Matthews at Brisbane, Tony Shaw replacing Leigh Matthews at Collingwood) didn't get very far as coaches.

Well I guess you would position yourself to get what you believed is owed. I think the comment later in the video where Kennett was hoping another club would take Clarko off their hands to avoid paying him out, stands up as very plausible. I think they boned Clarko to save money - I wonder if Mitchell is on the same coin or less?

One of the few times I can agree with Kane Cornes when he stuck it up Wilson in response to what she said. Wilson's reporting on this whole saga was still fanciful at best and showed her true lack of journalistic integrity !

@@louquay how can she get everything right. The players meeting with the club happened shortly before Clarko left, not at the time of Caro’s report. Her opinion was “I don’t think he’ll be there”, which is not a difficult take to have.
The people that look foolish are the ones that believed Clarko’s war story diatribe and other comments. The ex players in the media, the boys club, and his friends and ex Hawthorn players, whom he used as pawns. He played them all.
