I’ve gotten to camp sites where trash was left but never to that extent. It’s always annoying and sad to find. This is just way overboard. Looks like they purposefully trashed the place. We car camp so usually we can take all the trash out with us we find but there would be no chances taken with syringes or things of that nature. Would be nice to catch the idiots doing that.

The amount of garbage left by previous inhabitants of that site is one of the top reasons I prefer to camp in the winter. It tends to eliminate the outdoor party type of camper.

First time I went hunting with my dad when I was ~7 or 8 we didn't even bring a rifle. We just went out with out lunch, some hot chocolate and made sure the woods we were hunting in looked good. Did some cleaning, watched some animals and had lunch. "If you take care of the forest, the forest will take care of you" is something I still live by. Who wouldn't want to take care of some of the most peaceful/beautiful places on earth :)
Also, never heard a Canadian pronounce bagel before, amazing haha! Amazing video per usual!

So disconcerting to plan and prepare for a trip to a favorite spot and find it desecrated when you get there. You reaffirmed the basic goodness of humans by your actions in clearing the mess as much as able.
Really enjoying watching your videos and learning. At 83 with a bit of wear and tear on the old bones I use a walker and thought backpacking days were over. Fortunately found a great walker that holds enough gear to get out in level territory to enjoy nature. Your videos and reviews have been very helpful in replacing gear I gave away thinking it would never be used again. Love that you don’t exist totally on just add water-heat meals. Good camping AND “chefing” skills to have fresh, healthy meals!

Sadly Ive dirt biked my entire life in the rockies and slowly seen the areas we are allowed to camp get smaller and smaller and smaller. Calgary being 40 minutes away from prime free camping and dirt biking you get so many young punks that go out and just trash it....last May long we took 4 dump trucks and more worth of garbage and trash out :( I go a lot further and deeper to get quiet and peace now...dirt biking days behind me now just want to enjoy nature. The fish and wildlife are getting smarter and at least come around on the Friday of long weekends and make note of vehicle license plates in certain areas and if its left a mess they get sent bills (from what I've heard) so thats nice to hear.

That mess is unexceptable. This is how some people are. It is actions like this that is a risk for fire. There has been places that I chose to camp because of a mess and I clean the mess up and when I leave it is a showcase. It is fact that things like this is what people remember not the good, that needle is a needle that diabetics use but can be used to inject other chemicals. You have run into a drug nest. I happened to do a fly by and saw this mess. This keeps up the grounds will be closed to the public. You found a drug nest.

I have my chain saw and always look for dead standing trees. Finding a sharpie on the ground....well I absolutely have ZERO respect for drug addicts. Leaving a jug of motor oil by the lake...like what the hell is wrong with people. Jeremy, you are an inspiration for being the good steward of our wilderness. I watch Steve Wallis's camping channel (also from Canada), and he pretty much echos everything you said about respecting nature. The cut trees are bad enough, but a needle and and oil jug???

Disgusting that people disrespect the forest that way. Other than that great video

For the safety of others, possibly children, I would burn that needle. Peace and blessings

OMG why cut down the trees and leave them to rot. Trash and used needle and syringe 💉 to injure someone else? Good on you Jeremy for cleaning up the beautiful outdoors. Like you I hold the great outdoors sacred in my heart.

Hey man, been watching you since last year. Love your vids. I'm about to buy my first Pomoly hot tent and Pomoly stove based on all your good videos. Quick question. Was this the Hussar 1-2 person you used? Also, would a Hussar Plus (2-4 person) be large enough for me, my wife, and dog with a stove? We're in the PNW and looking to camp in the snow and rain this season. Thanks!

Awsome, yes this is the hussar 2 person, and yes a hussar plus would be big enough for all of you with stove

Maybe they were thinning the woods? I believe forest management is essential and can look destructive but these were all saplings in a crowded woods, They will eventually dry and be usable firewood. Always good to have some medical gloves in the kit for biohazards like the needle. Is burying it really the best option?

This is crown land owned by the government, no trees are allowed to be cut and no garage is allowed to be left behind.

      I was wondering the same...
It says '1p with wood stove' on the website, so probably not!
