it would be so fun that in the second movie when lela and tanner got into the real world in some moment the ACTORS that played their characters just showed up or were mentioned, like, they came from a movie, there must be real actors that played them out there
Ok now I wanna see this Tanner Brady Mac Lela polyamory sequel. They four all reunite and get a little *too* close to their same sex counterparts. As someone who grew up in the 2000s, and just watched this for the first time at 20 years old, I LOVED IT! It was like the reversed Enchanted, instead of a cheesy classic Disney princess somehow ending up in the real world, it was two normal kids who ended up in a cheesy classic Disney movie. I loved everything about this movie, meanwhile my best friend Georgia did not like it until the end. She's not a Disney channel movie person, meanwhile I have such pure hatred for the princess movies like Sleeping Beauty and Little Mermaid, and my childhood was mostly the Demi-Selena Disney channel era. I loved the music in Teen Beach Movie, and i especially loved the characters. Brady was not only the first Disney love interest to have a personality, but he was the first Disney channel love interest to have one as well. He wasn't the "dumb hunk" type of character, he was the goofy and funny optimist played by the extremely talented Ross Lynch! Mac was also such a cool girl protagonist, and determined to surf and live her dream. I also like how she tried to make friends with the characters as well. Also, can we just appreciate the girl power between Mac and Lela? Lela's so underrated in general, she was determined to go after her dream as well, but also she had more of the innocent and ditsy personality. Like I said, I'm someone who hates the classic princess movies so I admire both Teen Beach Movie and Enchanted for making fun of the old ones, I love it when Disney's self aware. With that being said, Teen beach Movie is going to be one of the few Disney movies I'll want my kids to see. Nothing compares to Encanto, Luca, or Wall-E, but Teen beach Movie is extremely underrated.
I remember vaguely watching this on my TV as a kid and the only thing I remember is the ending dance scene where everyone's dancing and behind them the movie is playing on a screen (like the ones in drive in cinemas) and Tanner comes in literally carrying a sink and everyone's like "Oh Tanner!"
Not really related but every now and then I remember someone saying that their ideal jukebox musical would be one where the characters are unwillingly dragged from one song to the next and then trying to break free of the plot. IF, big if, I remember correctly is that basically not just the plot of Teen Beach Movie or am I bugging?
But isn't a jukebox musical made with pop songs instead of songs made specifically for the musical? In that case, I think the best example is the music episode in the final season of Lucifer (though only one person was really aware and annoyed by the songs, and he admitted that he was playing along because he couldn't resist a good musical number lol). Straying from the jukebox principle, Enchanted's "How Does She Know" scene was similarly funny. But yeah, TGWDLM and Teen Beach Movie are pretty much this
@@ceebbees12345 buffy's musical episode isn't jukebox either, but it also has that aspect of knowingly being forced to sing and the characters not really wanting to. And it forces them to confess the feelings they've all been hiding from eachother through song (making the idea of "they start singing when/what they can't express through talking" literal). Even at the end, during the last song some characters leave because they realize they don't have to be singing anymore and they're sick of it lol
The concept for Teen Beach Movie sounds like the basis for a horror story or an SCP, like there's this pocket dimention which sucks people in seemingly at random, forcing them to take roles as characters in popular movies. Makes me wonder how many of the characters were there originally and how many are just victims of this wicked cosmic construction. Also does this thing exist only for Teen Beach Movie or other movies as well? I mean, we haven't been shown any other instances of people who've been transported to any other dimention resembling another movie but this could just mean that nobody else has made it out. Feaky stuff.
I don't like the ending of TB2, the movie as a whole is fun and the cast is amaizing but the ending...it cancels everything. And no one. I repeat NO ONE remembers, the fact that it all can be torn apart and sawn back together in completely different way while still having the same fabric, is so sad and terrifying. I'll just act like the sequel never happened
When I was a little kid, I used to think Wet Side Story was a real movie (I didn’t know West Side Story existed) and I always wondered where I would watch Wet Side Story, but of course, I never found it 😭😭
why do we exist? it's just a matter of coincidence. of chance. you are made of stardust that decided "hey, we're going to stick together for a couple of years". nobody knows why we exist, and nobody may ever find out. some people like to believe that there's a set reason- that we all exist for some greater, predetermined purpose. some people believe that we exist for no reason at all. some people like to give their own meaning to their existence. personally, i am one of those people. i like to believe that i exist to love and be loved, and to positively impact as many people as i can. however, this is only a personal thing, and you do not have to do the same. instead, find what works for you. find your decision, and i hope whatever decision you will make will be the right one- the one that makes you happy, of course.
3:02 Before I even realized I was gay, I liked rewriting the lyrics of that one song from the movie (I know what girls like, girls like boys like me) to instead be "I know what girls like girls like girls like me. I know what boys like boys like boys like me" just because I thought it sounded better that way.
These were my exact thoughts watching teen beach two with my sister. The movie was a queer tragedy and psychological horror for sure, poor Lela just wanted to be with her Girlfriend and was forced to go back to a world bearing the guilt and pressure of her loved ones literally dying if she chose to follow her heart. She looked so so sad the entire movie and just wanted to stay with Mack, the remake was simply a new cage for her to live out her days. Curse this movie.
I don’t think you’ve done this idea I had: Resident Evil Games (&/or) Movies reviews. I definitely know Code Veronica would likely get the funniest reviews, because that game is wacky AF.
Wait, so there's a Forks, Washington? Pair that with Orange, VT and Sandwich, NH, and we're on our way to a whole dinner table worth of American town and city names. If we include other places like Canada, we can also find Kitchener, Ontario.
Glad we all seem to be in agreement that the horrible implications and consequences of rewriting history so Lela can be a girlboss simply aren't worth it, way too terrifying/traumatizing lmao
Hypothetically: would it be possible for Lela to stay in the real world, become an actor, and then PLAY Lela in the next franchise movie of Wet Side Story?
I never watched teen beach. Not a single one. But seeing these reviews where they say that teen beach is a existential horror movie shocks me, because a existential movie about fictin coming to live and characters in stories being alive is a concept that i always loved thinking about, so this movie got my interest

I was todays years old when I realized that the movie in Teen Beach movie was called “Wt side story” and based off of “West side story” …
0:51 Relatable 😂😂😂😂
3:53 also this person should watch “The Guy who Didn’t Like musicals” 😂
It's giving if Grease was set at a beach
The horrifying implications review is peak cinema
The concept for Teen Beach Movie sounds like the basis for a horror story or an SCP, like there's this pocket dimention which sucks people in seemingly at random, forcing them to take roles as characters in popular movies. Makes me wonder how many of the characters were there originally and how many are just victims of this wicked cosmic construction. Also does this thing exist only for Teen Beach Movie or other movies as well? I mean, we haven't been shown any other instances of people who've been transported to any other dimention resembling another movie but this could just mean that nobody else has made it out. Feaky stuff.
Maybe you just need a magical board or item in order to do it
Oh my favourite philological thriller teen beach movie
As someone who has never even heard of this series, this video was a trip lmao
tanner is just on cactus juice guys
Everyone was high watching this movie on letterboxd
1:33 nah dawg that’s Uncle Fester and Gomez
I don't like the ending of TB2, the movie as a whole is fun and the cast is amaizing but the ending...it cancels everything. And no one. I repeat NO ONE remembers, the fact that it all can be torn apart and sawn back together in completely different way while still having the same fabric, is so sad and terrifying.
I'll just act like the sequel never happened
a highschool in my area had a teen beach movie themed homecoming
🏳️🌈 Thank you! Thank you! I have ALWAYS thought TBM would be infinitely better if Lela fell into Mack’s arms and Brady into Tanner’s. 🏳️🌈
Lela has a huge unrequited crush on Mack
When I was a little kid, I used to think Wet Side Story was a real movie (I didn’t know West Side Story existed) and I always wondered where I would watch Wet Side Story, but of course, I never found it 😭😭
My dad watched West side story when I was in the room one time and I hated it LOL
Delectabledead is making matpat cry over his computer trying to find the true meaning of the movie
Why do I exist
why do we exist? it's just a matter of coincidence. of chance. you are made of stardust that decided "hey, we're going to stick together for a couple of years". nobody knows why we exist, and nobody may ever find out. some people like to believe that there's a set reason- that we all exist for some greater, predetermined purpose. some people believe that we exist for no reason at all. some people like to give their own meaning to their existence.
personally, i am one of those people. i like to believe that i exist to love and be loved, and to positively impact as many people as i can. however, this is only a personal thing, and you do not have to do the same. instead, find what works for you. find your decision, and i hope whatever decision you will make will be the right one- the one that makes you happy, of course.
@@koiifsh dude that's profound

Dang, thanks robbiie.
5:24, teen beach movie is a surfer film version of ‘The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals’
I'm glad we all agree lela is a lesbian, and it wasnt just me, the energy between her and mack is insane
The fucking fact my brother knew Grace Phipps in highschool. What the fuck.
Oh my lord, no! I literally rewatched this on a whim yesterday!!! What are the odds!
Love these videos, btw! 💜
Thank you!
Love how the comments go from your regular crack to adults going to an existential crisis
The Fact that i was listening to The TBM soundtrack when The notif came up and i just think that it's cool
Having the cd for the music in this movie is a core memory for me

Before I even realized I was gay, I liked rewriting the lyrics of that one song from the movie (I know what girls like, girls like boys like me) to instead be
"I know what girls like girls like girls like me. I know what boys like boys like boys like me"
just because I thought it sounded better that way.
I do really love the Resident Evil series, so I would love to do something like that one day!
@@tonkajoey08 Yeah, it’d be fun. Love all these videos, even the ones of things I’m not a fan of.
Wait, so there's a Forks, Washington? Pair that with Orange, VT and Sandwich, NH, and we're on our way to a whole dinner table worth of American town and city names. If we include other places like Canada, we can also find Kitchener, Ontario.
not this being in my recommendations after looking this and part 2 up last night lmao
I LOVE Teen Beach Movie. The first one was my CHILDHOOD.
love this! u should do a video on reviews of disney channel shows (ex: jessie, good luck charlie, wizards of waverly place, etc)
I like how teen beach movie is just getting a lot of attention recently
Oh. My. God. I didn't know I needed this.
I am still convinced that this movie is just a fever dream of mine
Ideas for movie reviews:
Coco
Clueless
Legally blonde
"There's only 2 genders, bikers, and surfers." Guess i have no gender
I remember watching this movie when I was little, I always wondered what happened to Ross Lynch. 🌴
Why does teen beach remind me so much of the outsiders…the bikers are the greasers and the surfers are the socs LMAOOOO
I one broke my wrist after falling while watching the teen beach movie dance along
Good times
Glad we all seem to be in agreement that the horrible implications and consequences of rewriting history so Lela can be a girlboss simply aren't worth it, way too terrifying/traumatizing lmao
Ross made me realize i am so gay that, in fact, i also discovered i had a dom kinf and i also hve daddy kinf 😭😭
I remember being so mad at the ending of the second movie that I promised myself I'd never watch it again 😭 life was simpler back then
cool, im gonna go put these movies on my disney plus watchlist now. i love how almost horrific they seem to be! gotta check it out!!!

I love the idea of the trilogy of movies being:
Teen Beach Movie
Teen Beach 2
Team Space Movie 3
This was simultaneously entertaining and extremely uncomfortable because my dead name is Layla
i love how everyone agrees that everybody is just gay there
Since when?
@@rosegold3907 huh
@@rosegold3907 theres literally multiple reviews in the video that say main characters are gay 💀
@@nar_aspan only the actor that played Tanner is actually gay. Everything is gay these days! I have nothing against gay people

the guy who smoked weed and took it as a psychological horror should watch tgwdlm
