What a fabulous job Mitch and his singers did, but I was appalled by the totally amateurish video shooting wobbling and going in and out of focus with the zoom. There's no excuse for accepting that poor effort, so why they didn't they check it out, reject it and do it again? We also get to see the cringeworthy view of a bloke in black directing the audience participants, who didn't seem to know what to do as a group. No, thank you. You've totally let down Mitch, our First Nations people and our country with this failure to produce a video of professional standard that does justice to the song and the singer, NITV.
I heard this in a shopping mall in Melbourne last week, for the first time, first time for most of us, literally stopped people in their tracks. Love it.
I cry every time I hear Mitch perform this song. I love hearing it in his language. Respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our country ⚫️🟡🔴
I heard this last night for the first time at the rugby union in Brisbane and it completely blew me away😲 one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Thankyou
Ay werte bro sister here from Alice Springs. Just wanna say me and my partner used to watch you sing from that moment when you won the golden buzzer it bought goose bumps up our spine but ay we are so proud of you bro keep going and keep making us proud love to sing sing if you make it to Alice Springs oh (Werte) means hello in central Arrente Alice Springs language :)
Fan-bloody-tastic video of Mitch and his 2 back-ups. I don't know the language but I am guessing the words closely reflect the original John Farnham song in English. More indigenous singers please.
Absolutely brilliant cover of an absolutely brilliant song!! Sung by a very talented and humble young bloke! ........ A bit of a shame “The Guardian” felt it necessary to add survival/ invasion day instead of just calling it Australia Day, in the description though...🙄🙄😏
Not cool dude. if you do your research you would understand he's singing in the gamillaraay language which is where his indigenous background is from. No it's obviously not English but for him to sing it in honour of his heritage is something special and I respect that
He is speaking a rare antique language mate! Gamilaraay is a beautiful language spoken in southeast Australia. I would love him to teach me the language so chill out man!

My favourite John Farnham song, and absolutely love your version too Mitch 💙
Just came across this song. So powerful - the lyrics actually make more sense in language esp wit the Uluru statement and call for a ‘voice’. Moving.
The lyrics make more sense? Lol
Um what

So powerful. Brings tears to my eyes.

Love your version Mitch. Brilliant. If Farnham sings it now I am living in hope he does one chorus in language.
Such a liar
Did you see the performance for Bush fire relief that he did with Mitch, Queen and Olivia Newton John?

I searched up this song because my Grade 5 teacher showed us this voice during poetry.
Fantastic! Started following you on instA, then a friend told me to watch this. I’m a bit late to the 🥳, many many many 🙏🏼.
I like the power to make this the rightful words of Australia's national anthem of the it country. Can you tell me how I can make this happen

Two great singers to check out are Emma Donovan and Thelma Plum. Amazing
It's the Indigenous Aboriginal language - "Gamilaraay"
Chills. I love this.❤🙏
WOW just WOW❤️
Mitch is VERY special
Doesn't matter what the language is this song is sung in it will always slap hard
Is such a shame these languages aren't taught at our schools instead of Chinese, German, French etc.
Would Be Nice If They Taught Other Ancient Languages Like Scottish Gaelic From My Heritage, Or Kiche Maya As Well.
I only know a few adults the speak traditional, I was surprised actually that a young fella would know his language
My son has just been learning about this and did. Performance where he had to say hello welcome in this language
It would be great if they taught Arabic! and ancient Greek!
And what about WELSH, an ancient Celt language, Cymraeg am Byth
