Good video, made me think a bit about Eleven's era. I really enjoyed the Matt Smith era, but I think that the appeal for me is more about the general *feel* of Eleven. If I think of a great individual episode of modern Doctor Who, I think of Ninth/Tenth Doctor episodes: The Empty Child, Blink, Midnight, Turn Left etc. [Edited to add: And of course, Twelve's "Heaven Sent"!] But by the end of Ten's era, much as I love it, I was beginning to feel a bit depressed by the gloom and doom; Ten just had to deal with so much sadness and loss. Eleven was a fresh start and when I think of his era, I think of light, joy, optimism and playfulness overall (dark as Eleven could, of course, become.) Also, my favourite classic Doctor is Patrick Troughton, from whom Smith drew inspiration, so I loved that too. But there are not so many Eleventh Doctor episodes that really stand out to me as being gems based purely on their own merit. A lot of Eleven's appeal also has to do with how much you like the River Song story. I really enjoyed the timey-wimey-ness of River Song in Eleven's era, and get a lot of nerdy fun from having my flowchart up on a second monitor while I'm watching, but it's not for everybody. And you couldn't just show those episodes to a non-Whovian friend in isolation. I see most of Eleven's era as very much a connected whole (and it's a connected whole I thoroughly enjoyed.) Also, I think Eleven's era had some of the best music of any Doctor, overall. Murray Gold produced sparkling work throughout all the seasons he worked on, but "I Am The Doctor" will never not put a smile on my face.
Definitely, like I enjoy 11s era most of the time, but the only episodes I truly love are The Doctors Wife and Cold War, the rest all start to blend together slightly, I still enjoy it but I’d argue it’s one of the weaker eras of the shows history
Hello there, love these videos, you did wilderness to a tee as well, will you be doing K9 and company with Sarah Jane adventures? And will you be doing touchwood and the Cushing films, K9 and class? Just love these so don’t want them to end just yet 😂
Thank you :) and yeah don’t worry, recording the Sarah Jane Adventures video at the moment (including K9 and Company in it), also going to be doing the “interesting” Aussie K9 show, Torchwood and Class, not sure if I’ll ever covering the 60s films though haha
With 10 been my first doctor 11/smith showed me quite early on that I was fully invested in the show no matter who leads the doctor role. Just wish 11 hadn't become more of a flanderasation version of himself after season 5
@@AnIdiotBox1963 Maybe RTD reinvented Doctor Who for the 21st century to make it almost unrecognizable, but in the Moffat era it really feels right and more Doctor Who without the soap opera; more planets and less Powell State.

Great to hear !! Excited to see them, the 60s films would defo be the shortest video 😂
Even shorter than 14s video haha

Yeah i think at some points in series 7, 11s character got weird but even though I don’t love this era as much as most I still enjoy it
Geronimo!
Woop woop!
No, the Eleventh Doctor era save Doctor Who.
I’d say that’s more the 9th Doctor tbh

I’ll agree with that, definitely had a lot more variety throughout
