There was some Irish migration to Argentina in the 19 th century. That ended when people came to Argentina on the understanding that they would be given farms near Buenos Aires, instead they were put in a swamp near the city. Think they went on to the US and migration ended after that.
The thing that surprised me the most in the data is that Australia has larger Irish diaspora than Canada. Also, New Zealand has comparatively lower ranking than I expected. I expected New Zealand to have fifth or sixth place after the other big English speaking countries. Also, Spain having such a high ranking was surprising.
I'm one of them; I'm of Dutch, English, Irish, and Belgian ancestry. Outside of ethnic enclaves in the NE and Northern Midwest, most European-Americans with multiole generations of US ancestry are ethnically diverse.
The dude in your thumbnail looks like one of the "Black Irish"; the descendants of Spanish sailors (the Spanish genetic diaspora) who landed in Ireland.
They are more Irish people in the rest of Latin America. There at least 55k in Puerto Rico, more than 200k in Mexico. Costa Rica and Cuba. There so many migrations waves been ignored by this statistics.

I'm Brazilian (from Rio Grande do Sul) and my paternal great-grandfather was Irish (Thomas Sheridan - or Scheridon) from Co. Mayo. ☘☘☘

The country which is most Irish (after Ireland of course) would be Australia (as a percentage of the total population)
I wi slso find that most Irish in the US will have multiple ethnicities at this stage.
Only ten million say they are Irish and nothing else.

There are more Irish people in countries outside Ireland than in Ireland

Not one Irish name in the top 10 most common surnames in Britain. How can that be if a third of the population is Irish?😂
Trying to hide their ethnicity; thr legacy of millennia of subjugation.

this does take anyone with some Irish descendancy as "Irish" truth is that most of these are not Irish in the slightest
