    I might d!e waiting for entire Bangalore to be fully connected by metro as delhi. Banglore is the biggest IT hub of the country. Bangalore metro should have been developed alongside Delhi.

    One can't imagine that Kolkata Metro had run non AC rakes for more than 3 decades & now they are trying these rakes in Joka-Esplanade line... Officials of Kolkata Metro should be awarded with Bharat Ratna for their incredible achievement🤣

      Tejas coaches are proving themselves as another game changer and showing a glimpse of such coaches in Train 18 and Train 20. Thanks to Indian Railways for converting The Mumbai-New Delhi and August Kranti Rajdhani into Tejas Rajdhanis

      Vande Bharat is actually capable of 200+. Only tracks and signalling system need to be updated. We need ETCS lvl 2 and continuous welded tracks to sustain 200+ speeds.

      @@tukaidas1272 Shinkasen doesn't run at 650 kmph, the fastest train is Maglev in Shanghai which is 431 kmph. Get your facts straight but well if you had that mindset you would correct your country first. We have things which are much better than the whatever you guys have in your country.

    I'm not from India, but I have been in love with Indian Railways for a long time. It's truly remarkable how far IR has come and now with every major city making metros a reality is going to change a lot of lives. I can't wait to travel again by train in India.     Cost of building metro rail is huge. Even high-income European countries have adopted tram or ligh rail instead of metro rail.
    It's surprising that a low-income country like India keeps on building new metro rail systems while rich European countries hesitate to do it!

      It only makes sense in high population density cities, I don't know why smaller cities are making 1 metro lines and call it connectivity

      @@ayushgarg7033 Europe's population density is high but still it doesn't have a large metro rail system. Most European cities have trams or light rail systems

      @@ayushgarg7033 Every metro rail system starts with 1 or 2 line. Delhi Metro also started with one line (Red line) in 2002 and later expanded.
      Currently urbanization in India is around 35%. It can shoot up to 80% by 2040 as our economy grows rapidly. Means crores of people will migrate from rural areas to urban areas in next 20 years. So we are building metro rail systems to cater to that future demand.
      Population density of our tier-2 cities like Lucknow, Jaipur, Kochi, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut, Nagpur, Patna, Bhopal, Indore, Surat, etc. will skyrocket in coming years.

      India has metro rail systems even in cities like Kanpur, Jaipur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Kochi, etc.
      Tell me any tier-2 city in Europe having metro rail system

      @@colombia5551 Those tier 2 cities in India are growing rapidly and will eventually become massive cities, far larger than cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan etc. By 2030, tier 2 cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Kochi, Mangaluru, Indore, Vijayawada etc will have populations of around 4-7 million people. Those would be the biggest cities of Europe today. Building metro systems in these tier 2 cities will help prepare for the growth in the future as India urbanises. Only around 30% of India's population lives in cities and so as more people move to cities, more heavy transport infrastructure will be needed to accommodate those populations. Something very similar occurred in China and hence China too has many metro systems in its own 'tier 2' cities rather than just having trams like in European tier 2 cities. India did a very big mistake. Large Tier 1 metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru did not have any adequate public transport for decades. Those tier 1 metro systems that have been built in the last 10 years, should have been built in the 80s and 90s. Thats why its important to build the metro systems in Tier 2 cities now so that can better prepare for the growth, unlike the Tier 1 cities.

    I pitty for Bangalore metro. One of the slowest metro construction ever. Considering the traffic conditions here, if Bangalore got metro network like Delhi as of now, probably we would have highest riderships for sure.😪

      It will happen. Blue line is moving very fast. And GOI has dedicated 15000 crore for building sub urban rail as well so don't worry. by 2030, entire city will be operational.

    I love rail and underground (metro sytems) networks! India is doing a great job, but this must be ONLY THE BEGINNING!
    The next step is to build ever more High-Speed Railway (HSR) lines, fist extending the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor all the way to Delhi, then from Delhi to Kolkata (via Lucknow, Varanasi and Patna) and then CONNECTING ALL Tier 1 & Tier 2 cities of India! (Later also Tier 3 cities.)
    If China can do it, INDIA CAN DO IT BETTER! India sent satellites to Mars before China!
    All that India needs is to concentrate on investment in infrastructure and human resources, then it will be unstoppable!

    As far as Kolkata metro is concerned and ppl arguing that it should be under state govt, I want to say one thing, no one restricts the state govt to form a public enterprise , so if wb wants it can form one. A seperate Metro entity named west bengal metro. The question is , why is WB govt not forming one😂

    Still train 20 concept doest get light. Indian railways need big overhaul in network, trainsets, stations, booking, aminities in travel. Need special fund and more zones to improve bending projects fast pace.

    Mumbai Metro will surpass Delhi Metro and Kolkata Metro in technological superiority once it gets fully completed as the only Metro with 98% of the network being UTO with AI and robotics

      @@rangeetganguly6010 That's exactly what I am saying. Delhi Metro started in 2002 when AI and robotics were not common at all. I don't understand your point. What is there to be proud of? Mumbai is super late to the party. At Mumbai's pace, I don't expect the entire metro system to get completed before 2035 with or without AI/robotics. Heck, the city can't even revamp the Dharavi area although planning started in 2003.

    No development of Kolkata metro was known as Kolkata first metro revolution ... No development. , No new line open now no new rake , our Kolkata metro one of the Wrost metro in our country .... One of the slowest development in our Kolkata , no proper connectivity , only political people they accuse land problem ..

      Kolkata metro is still way better than Jaipur, Ahmedabad and many others. No new rake no new line what do you mean? The east west metro, beml rakes are world class. Kolkata metro still transports more people than most metros. Yes work is very slow but it's happening.
      This channel has just become a complaint centre for anything in Kolkata.

      Kolkata Metro has the second highest ridership per kilometre (after Mumbai), and far far ahead of Delhi or Bengaluru (let alone other flag towns where Metros are being built around "for show"). And that too with only above 40km of operational lines (2 lines operational till now) WITHOUT a single interchange till date. Once the interchange is operational at Esplanade between the two existing lines (in less than another year from now), it'll end up giving even Mumbai metro a run for its money!
      I'm sure this can be claimed for any such metro system across India - agreed, but you have absolutely ZERO IDEA what powerful of a metro system Kolkata is set to get, with India's two largest & busiest railway stations set to get connected with the EW metro, and along with the interchange with the existing North South Metro at Esplanade, and another few years where Esplanade gets one more interchange with Line 3 (Joka metro), Line 6 Metro (New Garia interchange, Sector V interchange, Airport connectivity with Line 4 interchange)... and all this constitutes not even 30% of total Metro route proposed for the entire city!
      Sure it's all slow down there in Kolkata today, and it must be getting really really frustrating to see projects go on and on for years together, but the end product is going to be SOLID GOLD!

      Hi! I have never been to kolkatta. So can you tell me are "trams" still a thing in kolkatta? My elders used to say kolkatta aka city of trams☺

      @@thereishere no. Two lines are working with rare view of trams. Rest are in a process to sell out, but due to exposure of scams, the process is due. Later , trolleybus will be introduced.

Our Delhi Govt was about to bring back trams in Old Delhi but that was in 2015 and till now nothing happened. 🙄

      @@thereishere Trams are not really an efficient mode of transport in modern day 21st century fast paced and congested India. At best, LRTS, trolley buses and BRTS (like the ones in Gujarat or Hubli in Karnataka) are the best affordable solutions for rapid transit in modern cities with wider carriageways/roads.
      Trams are successful in certain cities across the world (particularly in Europe - also running in SFO) owing to much much lower traffic and congestion. Hence trams aren't getting much voice in India - even in Kolkata where they still run to this day, albeit sparsely. Talking about Kolkata, the city traffic police are all up in favour of eliminating the entire tram network from the city, as it makes their job much harder. Kolkata was set to get trolley buses which are far more flexible and efficient from Ukraine this year, which again never happened because of obvious reasons.
