There is an XLR option on the S1h. Panasonic (like Sony) make a two channel XLR audio box that fits via the hotshoe. Works great. You need to buy a Smallrig cage that fits around this XLR audio unit and lets you attach a top handle above this XLR unit with enough space to get decent grip around the handle, which may make it a bit top heavy for some tastes, but its what I've been doing with the S1, and its been pretty good. But hey if you can afford a Sony FX3, why not.
They are indeed!! We still kept the S1H but its more of a personal camera now, I love to keep it compact with a rokinon 35mm for travel and general use :)
If you get the audio adapter XLR 1, you can use one or two shotgun mics, it supplies 48v phantom power up to 96khz sample rate, with volume control and pad0 to -20db. Powered by cameras hotshoe mount Great piece of kit, just used it on a shoot with a borrowed S5 and a zoom h6, xlr1 was attached to S5 xlrs wete attached to lighting C clamps directed attached the actors, spot on sound I have S1H.
Most underrated camera on the market! Sad it never got the love and appreciation it deserved
It is so wonderful! I really hope they come out with an S1Hii
In an ideal world we would definitely hold on to this one
I am also, waiting on that S1Hmkii 😅
That camera was so ahead of it's time with features. I own a s1 and and s5iix I'm all in on Lumix. Will definitely pick up the mark ii

We have explored this option but it is just not for us
the Fx3 doesnt have xlr built in either
Novo guitars are so sick & so is the s1h! I’m still rocking an s1h & eva1. When I need AF I use the g9ii.

I have S1H.
It hase face detection but it doesn't have phase detection.
Yes and Face detection definitely misses as opposed to the S5iiX
Great video, what did you guys end up going with?
Thank you! We still have the S1H for the time being, but we also picked up a C300 Mark ii to match our R5C a little better
@@deadlinecreative I see, plans to go with the FX3? Still on my GH5 but thinking of making the move when more client work pops up
@@TalesOfTam Maybe eventually! The C300 fits in our current workflow with our R5C
S5IIX not in running?
We would like an A cam with Internal ND's and XLR, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't also get the S5IIX down the line
