Landing at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) Runway 22 with Commentary from a New Yorker
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 окт 2024
- A Delta Airlines flight in an Airbus A321-200 landing at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) from the South from Miami. I narrate the entire landing process as a New Yorker who has traveled quite extensively throughout the NYC metropolitan area. You can clearly see all five boroughs of NYC : Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx along with major attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, World Trade Center, and the Brooklyn Bridge. New Jersey, Westchester County, and Nassau County are also visible. This particular flight path to Runway 22 flies over Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx before doing a sharp turn to land at LGA.

ActionKid Air tours….love it! Hall of Fame level, great narration and stunning views of Manhattan and surrounding areas.
Excellent narration. Interesting how at around 2:00 the freeway on the ground ‘matched’ the outline of your plane’s window.
Very smooth landing.
Nice 😊
Thank you another great video just so you know when landing into LaGuardia from the south it is called the Cory 4 approach also a lot of crew members refer to landing at LaGuardia as the USS LaGuardia because it is similar to landing on an aircraft carrier due to having to stop quite quickly the runway you went landed on 22 is only 7001 feet long
Thank you for another grand tour
Learned something new. Hope
to view many more episodes.
AK, you took your vlogging to another level with this narrated video inside the airplane! 🤩 I can hear the excitement in your voice while you were pointing out the landmarks in Manhattan and the other 4 boroughs. 😃 The views are astonishing, and it's awesome you got a window's seat on the left side this time! 😍 Who knows if you might narrate from space one day! 🌎 I'm glad you had a safe flight, and thank you for sharing this epic aerial commentary, AK! 🤗
Thank you AK for the narration. I've never been to NYC First impression is too many buildings for the area. I would get lost in the first five minutes. Enjoy your visit with your family and I hope to see you back in Miami real soon, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Wow! Wonderful views and landing. I wish I ever experience a return flight like that from Florida when I travel back to CT after visiting family in the Sunshine state. I love colder weather. Going to have a freezing though this Friday and Saturday. On Sunday we will be warming up in Connecticut and NY. Welcome back to NY. Love all your content. Stay warm and safe. Happy Year of the Rabbit.
Thank you so much! It was such a gorgeous view and I'm happy I was able to narrate the landing
Excellent video, AK. I love this! Thank you so much for doing this awesome video. It is great that you were able to get such a good picture quality from out of the window. This is just the Best!!!
that was great. makes me homesick for NYC again. (Phoenix is a barren land, architecturally, culturally, gastronomically and whatever else.
Great narration, beautiful weather, but too much zooming in and zooming out!
Excellent video! It’s great to finally see others make narrated flight videos but you need to change the title of the video. You landed on runway 22, not runway 31. Runway numbers are derived from their compass heading. You landed to the southwest on a 220 degree heading. Runway 22 is named 22 because of the 220 degree heading (the last digit is removed in runway numbers). Runway 31 heads 310 degrees (northwest) and you would not have flown over the Bronx for runway 31. I fly both approaches regularly. You can also see the red sign with the numbers 4-22 on it once you vacate the runway. (4 is runway 22 in the opposite direction).
Thanks! I just changed the title from Runway 31 to Runway 22!
@@ActionKid perfect!! It’s such a great video!
@@PeterMasella Thanks for these details. I've had these planes flying overhead for over 50 years, and I never took the time to identify which runway they're actually aligning with. I'm in Country Club (the north Bronx), and at night I see the TALL light towers in the distance (Nassau county I believe) that assist pilots in making an accurate and safe landing to LaGuardia. Those flashing red lights sure do help, especially when it's dark. AK sure got a treat with this flight path, as did WE. ** *Nice work Action Kid ** !! ** You continue to amaze us.
@@Triple-G-r8ness The tall light towers in the distance have nothing to do with the flights. Pilots will either use instrument landing systems that begin at the runway at the airport or if they have the airport in sight, they will just fly directly to the runway and land, if cleared by the controller to do so. Flashing red lights on towers are simply known as obstruction lighting, so that the pilots know there is a tower there at night in case they get too low. And yes - many thanks to Action Kid for sharing this!
@@PeterMasella Wow, *'obstruction lighting'* ... I would _not_ have guessed that. The planes look so perfectly positioned in a queue one after another, and _they_ _all_ _seem_ _lined_ _up_ with those red flashing light towers. (I'm gonna say the plane's alignment with them is just a coincidence, based on what you've divulged here). Peter, sometimes we have planes landing every two minutes ... LGA can be very busy.
That was very nice. Crazy thing , I was watching it at the exact time you were calling it but a day or 2 removed I guess.
Great Video! LaGuardia Has Changed So Much Since I Was There..Worked At Terminal A For Delta(To The Right Of Where You Landed) Now Jetblue Owns That Terminal
A great video. The best I've seen flying over New York City and great narration!

Being from London England 🏴 really amazing once you see Manhattan massive sprawling buildings ~ skyscrapers really awesome 👏
I would love to be sitting next to you on a plane coming into LaGuardia! You know everything that you’re looking at! I always wonder what I’m looking at!
I surprised myself with all the places I knew!
@@ActionKid
You came back to New York right when it’s 5° this is the weather that’s making me move to Florida well, one of many reasons lol
Excellent video. Just one correction. You misspoke when you said Jersey City connected the Outerbridge Crossing to Staten Island. The city is actually Perth Amboy, NJ.
Absolutely unbelievable how amazing the view of Manhattan is! 👍🏼😮👍🏼
Thanks for this video spent many a day on the water around there my grand father had a boat we us to go out on rember going through hells gate and had to time the tides right he kept the boat docked in college point at the boat yard so it was just across from the airport we lived on 14th ave in college point. I have taken about the same flight you are recording thanks for the memories.
turn back its really cold this wknd
Clapping, giddy as a school girl!! I wanta go to NewYork SO BAD. It's like flying there with you! Thank you so much for this!! I sure miss you when you're in Miami😢. The other "walking video ppl" never go to any of the boroughs and I LOVE Queen's and YOU take us there all the time!🤗
I stopped the video about half way through to leave my first comment. After seeing the whole video I must say you are a true New Yorker you knew every nook and cranny and it brought back lots of memories I have been to all those places but its been a long time so once again Thanks for the memories.
Wonderful ! Very impressionnant, thank you ActionKid !
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video AK!! I have not landed in NYC when returning home in a long time! It's easier to get to Newark for me. 🙂
Newark is actually closer to Midtown Manhattan than JFK Airport!
Maybe next time you can ask the pilots if you can mount an extra camera in the cockpit during landing. A certain famous air travel/aviation youtuber does this for his videos.
Awesome view! It looks like Lego from up there
No place like home! Great shots in this one!
Great job man! I almost saw my house. I’m close to Glen Island in New Rochelle! 🤣
That's cool, I've never flown in that way.
Highly impressed with your geographic knowledge. Something so severely lacking in today's society. Thank you!
Nice,Thankyou man。
You're welcome!
Have you moved back to new york? If you haven't, you need too. It's obviously where you heart lies.
Thank you so much for this video. I was having a very stressful workday - I clicked on this video, and I could feel my stress level going down. The views were so beautiful - seeing New York from the sky was amazing. I also enjoyed your narration.
I appreciate the effort & creativity you put into your videos.
Same here, I've been having a sad day, with all that happened in Turkey and Syria with the earthquake, and me missing the love of my life who passed away june last year, still miss him very much, I was crying all evening, and this video gave me a smile on my face, 30 minutes of enjoying a beautiful view from the air❤️
So...What's the story? Did Action Kid move back to NYC?
Great narration of the flight. Perfect tour and great views. Miss NYC. It’s pouring rain and very windy in Florida right now. I know it’s cold in NY but still nice to see home again.
really awesome aerial birds eye views of the greater nyc area! Really cool vid!
This was so fabulous…..TY
Cool video, and perfect view over NYC, and good description...well done
I love seeing the island of Manhattan and all its tall skyscrapers. It always makes me feel inspired and greatful that I've once lived there. These plane views are so exciting.

I'm surprised it's so cold in New York I thought there was global warming
Global warming is the long -term warming of the entire Earth's overall temperature. One of the many effects is the increasing occurrence of shifts in weather patterns [defined as climate change] which cause incidents of extreme heat, cold, flooding, and/or drought in any particular areas of the Earth.

Got to see all of my old hoods in the Bronx. Thanks, but on a different note, it seemed as though the pilot descended too fast in the last 10 seconds before touching down or maybe it had something to do with angular resolution of the camera. One moment the cars and trucks were looking like grasshoppers and the next moment...bam...on the runway. Thanks for showing everyone that the Earth has no curvature. Notice how the ground and the sky meet in the distance [at the horizon] and they will always rise to the observer's eye level when there is no Earth curve. Yep, the Earth is definitely flat. If the Earth was curved, the horizon would have dropped down and away as the aircraft rose.
😂 You’ve never been on a plane have you?
Love this, thank you 😊

Question for you. Say an aircraft is inbound from the north to JFK 14L. Lets say its Aer lingus from Shannon. What would be the standard arrival?
I flew to New York from Memphis a couple of years ago for the very first time and had the exact same view. Such an incredible view of the city. It was a little overwhelming being from a small town in MS, however I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and couldn’t get over the vastness of NYC. It was awesome!

When I worked LGA the approach path from the south was up the Hudson with a right turn over Orchard Beach to RWY 22. This was an east route which was used if landing RWY 31. The reason we never used this route was JFK traffic. They must have revised arrival paths since that time. The view of this was very nice
